I don’t think you’re an angry guy. I’ve been hangin around yours and Puddins channel since way back when. Keepin it real and original. That’s what keeps me around. Other have outgrown their roots, steal funny lines and sayings from smaller RUclipsrs to get laughs out to there millions of subs, but give no credit to the guys who came up with the jargon or slogan. This is not a channel that would do that. I feel like when I watch your videos I’m getting a old fashioned handshake from ya every time. You put in the effort, you give no nonsense, and you get shit done. That’s why I stick around. Putting these “scrap heaps” back on the road with a few twists of the wrenches and wrists and some fluids into their veins will never cease to amaze me. Thanks for the memory. I bought one new in 77. It was sitting on a dealer lot and had been ordered by someone who cancelled because it took way to long to be delivered because he ordered the T-roof. It was the two tone blue, had NO A/C, but did have the blue vinyl buckets, tilt wheel and AM/FM. The dealer also had one on the showroom floor that was LOADED but had the split bench velour interior and I wasn't thrilled with the split bench, so I bought the other one. I have seen a few black and silver and yellow and golds sitting at other dealers, but none had the T-roof. One DID have the sunroof. I sold it when I was sent to Germany and car insurance in the early 80's was outrageous.

My grandparents adopted me at age 3, and Grandma bought a brand new 1976 Dodge Charger SE. It was a beauty. Dove grey with that bordello red velour interior, buckets with console shifter, 360 4V. Man, I wanted that car! But they traded it in 1979 for a brand new New Yorker Fifth Avenue Edition with the 360 2V. That one is a beauty as well, and I do have that one here in my garage in SoCal thanks to them keeping it for me in a garage in Western PA for years and leaving it to me in their will. Both that 76 360 and the 79 360 had Lean Burn. It works fine until it doesn't. LOL. I still have it on my New Yorker, although it had failed at some point and someone (probably my uncle Ken, since he thought he knew about cars) had installed a supposed good used (but wrong) one from a junkyard. Well, when I got the car shipped across the country to me in 2014, it didn't run. I discovered that incorrect Lean Burn computer, and RockAuto actually had ONE correct rebuilt unit. I installed that, and she fired right up, runs beautifully to this day. That Lean Burn system can advance the ignition timing all the way up to 56 degrees advance! Crazy. But at 108k miles, it hasn't hurt that 360 one bit. And it gets more than 20 MPG on the highway, if you keep her under 65 and it's kinda flat. Anyway, rant over, and I do dig that Charger Daytona! Probably rare back in the day, and rarer than hen's teeth today! Thanks for getting into the Malaise Era, Mortske! Love it, man! Stay cool, brother!

That whistler and smoke deal is a prank. When I was a kid in the late 70’s my Mother would always pick my Grandmother up on Saturday and they would go shopping. Well we just had a mall open in Quincy,IL. and it had a shop called Spencer’s that had a section of cool gag thing’s and had one of those whistler and smokers. While they were shopping I bought one and put it on the 1973 Mercury Marquis we had. Will never forget how funny it was when that started doing its thing. I was in the back seat rolling, they had no clue what was going on with the car until I let the cat out of the bag! Thank you for that memory.

Despite all the crappy rust in all the corners she looks better than what I use as a daily driver. No joke intended. I think these Canadian Mopars were never rust proof from the factory. So you can't blame just neglection, humidity and road salt on it. If you do look close you can see one of the leaf spring mounts is crooked as was the towing hitch. I think she has had some trailer sliding or collision going on. Cause how else you bent the leaf spring clamp that bad. For what this car is it's actually one of the best starter package if you want a none tampered Mopar to restore. Always love the Mortske minute, these help me to understand what went on elsewhere behind the iron curtain. You should make a board of the oldest batteries you have come across, should be a fun one to put together. I do regret spending 2k on something else years ago...should have saved it up for this rig.

There's a company that's called DUI who makes mopar big block electronic distributors that the top half is the exact same thing as the GM HEI distributors and they work great but if you have to run tall valve covers because of using roller rockers the distributor cap will hit the valve covers so most guys stick with the MSD distributor and brain box with the rpm chips that can change the rpm limits and the advance curves. They aren't cheap but they work very good .

I'd rather push my Mopar off a cliff than put GM crap on it. Mopar made their own performance ignition kit. Discontinued now, but Jegs and Summit sell house brand duplicates.

That Corinthian leather is quality stuff. The Corinthians use barbless barbed wire on their fences...
The "Auto Fooler"... LMAO. That's pure genius. With all of the crap I did when I was younger,
    I can't believe I didn't think of something like that. Actually it's probably good that I didn't...
That thing probably would have flat lined someone when they turned the key, and the party started.

Thiscar reminds me of my 1979 Chrysler Newport. 360 V-8 auto 4dr. The guy i bought it from tried to sell me a 318 with matching trans. My only problem with the car was on nice warm sunny days none of the windows would go down at all. Now if it was raining they would work all day, never could figure it out

I would highly recommend getting a ball siphon hose from your local parts store. They drain about 3-4 gallons a minute and contain the mess when transferring old fuel into a drain bucket or waste container. I use one at my shop all of the time for fuel contamination jobs and they’re great!

The charcoal i think is parts of a speaker magnet, people taped them to the gas line to change the ions in the fuel to give you better gas mileage,
I remember seeing it in the 70"s when i was a mechanic, it didn't work btw, most people used cow magnets also.
