I was visiting Chicago when my friend Edita graciously offered to give me a tour of the renowned Merchandise Mart. Edita, who happened to be the manager of the newly opened Middleby Residential Showroom at the Mart, was excited to show me around.
As we concluded our visit to the showroom, we unexpectedly encountered Choon Lai, a familiar face. It turned out that Edita and Choon had been close friends for a long time. Edita introduced me to Choon, and the three of us embarked on a delightful journey through the various showrooms.
During our explorations, I discovered that Choon held the esteemed position of Director of Training and Culture at the prestigious Sunda Restaurant. Captivated by his role, I couldn't resist the opportunity and asked Choon if we could film an episode showcasing the restaurant. From that moment, the course of events was set, and the rest, as they say, is history.
And here we are, at the marvelous Sunda Restaurant, indulging in the divine flavors of its delectable cuisine while basking in the opulence of the exquisite ambience. It's a testament to the remarkable connections and experiences that can unfold when old friends, new acquaintances, and a passion for exceptional dining intertwine.
