This is not the greatest reaction video in the world, this is a tribute.
You win at the internet hahah
Beat me to it, that was the first reaction I had!
Well done
Couldn't remember the greatest youtube reply in the world, this is a tribute.
I ... don't get it ...
@@peterprice6035 🤦♂️ think about it lol
Jack Black is absolutely the closest thing possible to a Bard in a fantasy game.
The second closest actually. Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian / Demons & Wizards) has him beat
@@slgpumba ok, closest thing to a popular bard!
Hold on.....hes not a bard? Im pretty sure he is legitimately a bard. Like im fairly certian his abilities far surpass that of an average human being.
Fuuuuck never thought of him that way!!!lol
I wanna hear him sing "toss a coin to your witcher". Tribute
Jack Black is such a good singer, he's having so much fun with his voice and makes it all look effortless:3
So true 😊
And he is an even better dancer and live performer its crazy how agile this dude is
Jack in Black, a great metalhead. 🤘
Jack Black is so underrated for his skill and tenacious d in general
You gotta check her out@@BethRoars ruclips.net/video/LsTH02V9Pt4/видео.html
I honestly believe in my heart that Jack does movies as a side gig, his love has always been this band and music
Correct
i would like to have millionaire movie star and voice actor as a side gig.
and Comedy.
Every time they get to the "do be do dah" part I get a huge smile on my face. I somehow always forget how good this song is.
Its the kind of song that always puts a smile on your face 😁
@@BethRoars It's counterpoint singing.
gu gu vligu vligu or NOTHING
Master Exploder is the best example of Jack Black's vocal abilities
He did not mean, to blow your mind!
@@OmegaSoypreme He did not need, that microphone.
@@peterhineinlegen4672 His voice is fucking powerful
I like to think that the Amy Adams cameo is actually Beth.
He was so good in that song that he made it literally impossible to play live
I went to a Tool concert in 1998(?) and Maynard said everyone should buy a cd from their friend's band, Tenacious D. Thank you Maynard. Also, Mr Show.
honestly if there was no mr show there would be no jack black or tenacious d
You don't happen to live around San diego do you? Tenacious D actually opened for them in 98 at the RIMAC arena
I love how silly this song is but how serious they take it
Ha so true!
What do you mean by silly?? It's a tribute to the best song in the world, they have to take it seriously!
You need to take comedy serious else it won't work
@@jez_77 They're bring silly by taking the piss out of music tropes
I think it wouldn't be funny if they didn't take it seriously and if they weren't talented musicians.
She finally listened to the greatest band in the world
🎸🤘
Lol, just not the tribute of the greatest song in the world
👍👍🤘
They're not the greatest band in the world. They're just a tribute.
@@momentary_ they are. Only true masters of rock could improvise the greatest song in the world.
Beth Roars just seems like such a delightful person. She is always smiling and is so awesome at what she does. Plus, she is probably one cool badass of a person. I enjoy all her videos.
Thank you 😁
She could hardly be a grumpy old fart in her videos, imagine that🤣😠🤟🤟
Where is she from? I love her dialect! For me thats one reason for her happy and warm appearance...
agreed, I love her energy
@@op2o southern/central belt Scotland, I believe.
That's a professional musician saying "fligoogigoo" on stage.
gu gu vligu vligu or NOTHING № 2
One of the things I always loved about Tenacious D, other than the fact that they're amazing, is the fact that they are a good example that you don't have to start or be super young, be super talented, or fit into a specific template to be an artist or musician. Being themselves is perfectly acceptable and in this case is exactly what makes them, them; as Beth would say~
You know they've started in the 80s right
„Tribute“ is a classic rock parody AND SIMULTANEOUSLY one of the best songs of the genre by itself. Hilariously funny but still brilliant, solid, honest rock. A true masterpiece.
No one:
Jack Black: AWWLROOIGHT
Holy crap I can't believe it was the long ago. 2001 feels like yesterday.
Here, I'll make you feel even older: I was born in 2001. I'm an adult now (legally, at least :P).
I thought the same thing!
@@OrionOnion Oh god! I'm just gonna go die of old age now.
Their last tour they actually nailed this song even better.
@@OrionOnion ....the knowledge that there are adults born the same year or just after 9-11 makes me feel ancient, and I'm only 30....welp time to go yell at the neighbor kids to turn down that dang thump thump music.
That "Stairway to Heaven" ending though! 😂
😂
Stairway to Heaven is actually the real song this is a tribute for ;-). You can look it up. Both songs are structured in a pretty similar way.
Keelyn1984 well technically, this is a just a tribute to their tribute to stairway to heaven since they couldn’t remember what they actually played for the devil.
@@Keelyn1984 It is a tribute to the song they sang at the final showdown
The original version of this song included the opening riff of Stairway
I've always loved how Jack Black is such a good musician and singer but has always admitted that he simply can't do "serious" music and from very early on he decided he never would. People don't give him enough credit for his skills, much like Adam Sandler and, to a lesser extent, Weird Al Yankovic. The three of them are pretty solid musicians (Weird Al is more than solid), but often get underestimated because they're comedians.
Honestly, it is considered a badge of honor when Weird Al does a parody of your song. Can't remember the musician it was, but they stated that they realized they had made it, when Weird Al had done a cover of his song.
I guess musically oriented people recognize all the mentioned as great performers and solid musicians. I see your approach as cultural, a thing mainly invented by people (mostly in mainstream media) who haven't rehearsed like a simple run on a guitar several hours a day for getting it right - or simply envy of those who just have it and can sing great at the ease of breathing.
I think there's a lot out there considering these as great and inspirational.
I think this is similar to how comedic actors aren't always taken as seriously as dramatic actors, even though comedy is at least as difficult if not more.
@@odisdracul Kurt Cobain
@@joaquinlezcano2372 Thanks!
Jack Black and Kyle Gass are so damn fun to watch. Always bringing a smile to my face!
You should hear Jack sing Dio's The Last in Line. He kills it.
So good they got a Grammy for that haha
Thank you for doing this one. These two deserve way more credit than they actually get. Please do Wonder Boy!
Another excellent demonstration of Jack Black's singing prowess is Tenacious D's cover of DIO's "The Last in Line." It was done as a serious cover for a Ronnie James Dio tribute (lol) album, so there's no comedy involved just pure musicianship. And he absolutely killed it.
One thing I find particularly cool about Tribute, is that in the Pick of Destiny, they actually do show them playing "the greatest song in the world", and Tribute is a MUCH better song.
Kyle is a very talented musician and is often overlooked
That man plays guitar so good, can't be a fan of the D if you don't love the both of them. Without him it wouldn't be complete. I love the D so much, hope to see them live or meet them one day.
Kyle's fingers do be gold.
"I forgot how good this is"
But it isn't the greatest song in the world... it's just a tribute.
🤘🎸
The messiah wails
Fun fact I'm sure everyone knows but in the music video for this song the devil was played by Dave Grohl 🤘
in the movie... the music video took part of the movie and added the photobooth part
Thats cool!
He also plays the drums on their records.
The original devil is Scott Adsit
@@thebatbat Scott played him on the show, Grohl played him in the Tribute video and the Pick of Destiny. I believe they had a third person portray the devil when he made appearances in live shows.
Been waiting for this! Thank you so much! ❤️
You're so welcome!
I love Beth's videos, because although i'm not a singer and don't intend to sing, she makes me curious about the art and really gives me a good grasp of it. Awesome break downs. Definitely one of my fav subs.
Just came across this, so great. Thank you for breaking things down and giving some insight. Have always love the D. You did them great justice. And love seeing the joy in you as you were watching them. I can see that it took you back and it looked that you were trying to hold yourself back from really rocking out with them. Great job! Thanks for sharing!
This song is so much fun to break out at karaoke. If I bomb a song, I always go to Tribute next, and it *always* makes up for it. I think it's because, even if your voice is off, you can make Tribute sound good just by hamming it up to 11.
❤ Tenacious D. Love that Beth breaking down and analysing this crazy awesome song.
Once again, I am enjoying myself seeing your take on different kinds of music and songs. I too have heard Jack Black do some amazing singing (not comedy style, but real belting out and sounding damn amazing). I am very happy to see you react to this! I had a great time!
Keep up the amazing work!!!!
Thank you for providing the time and effort for this reaction video.. Stay safe and take care 😊
Thank you! You too!
Ahhh yes,
We need more reactions of the D.
Found this channel today. Dunno what I like more, how beautiful Beth is, her voice or the content.
So, I subscribed right away.
Thank you for subscribing!
These two guys have been having a good time for a long time, and there is really something special about seeing them on stage together. They're up there having a great time, and it always turns out to just be a beautiful, amazing show and song. You can feel the energy between them, and it seeps into the crowd and I love it. Hats off to Jack and Kyle.
I love the genuine happiness on your face throughout this video!!!
😁
If you want to check out Jack Black singing something without the comedy, you should check out their cover of DIO's "last in line". Truly amazing!
Yes so true he can hear how much dio meant to him in the way sang that song too bad they got so much shit for winning the Grammy for that song
Search "Jack Black sings the national anthem."
Yeah, just, when I hear them play it. Its comedy too me. I mean, the flute. C'moun. Its a fucking flute xD
@@sirblankenship Hey man that flute solo is badass
Was hoping for master exploder with no backing tracks live but I'll take this
This song always gives me goosebumps. Its just good. It's fun to hear a critical analysis of what's good about it
I’ve always loved the ending of this song live with those beautiful harmonies between Jack and Kyle
I love this song, I love this whole album in fact! 😄💘
Such a great album!
Beth, you have an amazing smile 😊
No clue how you ended up doing this but so glad you did. Tenacious D is the best party sing along at a campfire / bonfire that the world has ever known. The music is well composed, funny as he'll and the singing is great. For at lead the last ten years I run their first album as the closet for every bonfire we do, my elderly neighbors probably think I am going to burn down city hall.
One test of great music, does it affect people over time? It may be a comedy album but fun as hell.
Im not big into the arts and i cant sing for shit but ive enjoyed every video of yours ive watched and i really appreciate the passion and enthusiasm that you put into your content, it really shows. Please keep up the great work and i hope you and yours have been getting on well during the pandemic!
that "jazz" scat part reminds me of renascence fair type singing.
My imposible dream would be to play D&D with JB, his character would be the coolest bard in D&D history.
You can tell they sing together a lot. Their blending/harmonies are on point... wondered if it would carry over live and it really does.
I've never heard of them. Thanks again for being so open to all genres of music. You have been a godsend to me and especially my partner that suffers from a debilitating illness.
Yes finally we get the reaction for the best song ever 😁😉 ❤️
It is not the best song. It's a tribute! 😆

First thing I heard Jack Black sing seriously was the Marvin Gaye song Let’s get it on . From the movie High Fidelity. That’s when I knew the man could really sing .
Subscribed to both channels. :) Now react to Master exploder. Because i really need to know if what JB does, in the start of the song is for real.
I wish you watched the music video but this works
Made a lot of friends in high school singing these songs when this cd first came out in the halls. Lots of good memories here :).
It's really nice how much you obviously love so many of these songs you review.
To me, the fact that they're actually great musicians is almost part of the joke. Like, all that talent being applied to the silly things they sing about is kind of funny, I guess.
Also, I'm pretty sure Jack Black has said that those "scat" parts were basically him singing guitar parts that he heard in his head but couldn't play.
Jack Black and Kyle Gass where Tenacious D long before Jack Black was a famous actor
Hey Beth, thanks for reacting to this. There's not many people looking at them and Jack is definitely underrated! I love how you describe how vocalists create their sounds. Also, if I may say, you've got very pretty eyes lol I'd love to see you react to the Jack Black national anthem. Keep up the awesome content!
O.k. so...this was awesome! I'd love to see Beth, Jack and Kyle kick some lyrics! Super fun stuff lass:)
I have never heard anyone say anything bad about Jacks singing. Quite the opposite as most people are actually surprised how good he is.
Every time I listen to this song, I immediately have the urge to listen to Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin. After all this is the tribute to the greatest song in the world and it doesn't sound anything like this song. Also, shoutout to Dave Grohl and Ben Stiller. Wish they were there on the stage with them. 🤘🏼
The ending sounds a lot like stairway
christopher starke
Yes. They are talking about the greatest song in the world, which some consider to be Stairway To Heaven, so they are giving a little nod to it at the end.
Check the version from their hbo show, they play a bit of stairway in it.
Probably the best concert I've ever been to. It was an incredible performance!
You were there! Amazing! 😁
Jack Black has such a powerful voice and an all round lovely bloke. It's also lovely to watch you react to songs you clearly love, your passion is infectious.
Please do react to "Stop Saying We Sound Like Dragonforce..."
The vocalist looks like Jack Black 😁
Should react to Jim Carrey's cover of "I am the Walrus" it's insane
Love your videos. You really know what you're talking about and you're fun to watch. Keep going and thanks for sharing! 🙂
I appreciate that! Thanks 😊
@@BethRoars Oh and here's a German band you should definitely check out! It's sang pseudo Latin and complete nonsense but his singing is out of this world.

Holy fuck. Ive never found another live Video of this THANK YOU
I love Tenacius D!! I really enjoy with their fight against devil on the movie. They make love with guitars! It sounds like that! I love their humor, and, well, I love rock! I really love them. Thanks so much! You have surprised me a lot with this video!! Your sooo great, that's the answer why I love you so much. And like every day, I please you with all my love an faith to listen Antonio Molina, please. It would be memorable not only for me, I swear. I promise you will be with your Beautiful mouth open like oh my God! I, m so sure.... Send my better wishes to you ; Paloma from Spain. Thanks so much.

I honestly think Jack has perfect pitch or pretty damn close
Finally Tenacious D I forget if you ever reacted to them yet. Also I love hearing you explain stuff you have a great and soothing voice. Also I really like that shirt/ dress it looks good on you
Thank you for watching!
I'm actually very impressed that a quality vocal coach like yourself takes their singing seriously. I imagine many would ridicule it just based on the content. Thank you!
Please please PLEASE react to a live performance of "Blue" by The Seatbelts from the classic anime Cowboy Bebop. The singer, Mai Yamane, has such a gloriously distinct and beautiful voice.
If we're in Tenacious D territory, might I also recommend another comedy duo made of great musicians: Ninja Sex Party. I would love to hear your take on Dan Avidan's vocals.
Dragonslayer 👌
Twelve Foot Ninja, for that matter
Flight of the Conchords.
I love your red hair, your analysis and the bands you choose to assess. For the first time in a long time, I'm in the presence of someone who actually share a passion for a subject with absolute accuracy. More, please.
Well, fliggle giggle to you, Beth !!! Love your reactions and analysis. Thanx for this one 👍😊😁😎.
Hey Beth! React to "Ana Carolina e Seu Jorge - É Isso Aí" please
This video helped me appreciate Black and Glass so much more. I had previously focused on the narrative of the song and it’s stark similarity to “The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Now I see the multilayered work that makes it a genuine tribute to many variations of the musical art form. Thanks
Your Welcome 😊
Thank you so much for doing this video! It means a lot to know that you include your viewers suggestions. It is also very cool to hear that you are a fan of tenacious d too!
I have another suggestion 😁 finneas-let's fall in love for tonight. He has so much range in that song and I think it will be a good one to hear you dissect!
Great reaction. You have great analysis. And you were adorable. Thanks, I enjoyed it.
Love Jack Black & Tenacious D first time I heard Jack sing was in High Fidelity he did a Marvin Gaye cover it was amazing!
I think this is my favorite Beth Roars react so far
Love the content!
Other than some of the amazing notes and stuff that Jack hits here vocally. This song is just pure amazing musicianship. I mean the cool vocals Jack adds throughout their discography is just as amazing as how well they play acoustically and with an electric band. The actual music writing is unprecedented.
There's to many react channels on RUclips, you're the BEST! I pay no attention to the rest.
So many pre-parties before going out to the pub were spent singing along with this at the top of our lungs.... good times, good memories =)
Such a nostalgic song!
I bought the dvd as soon as it came out. Downloading shit on napster back than (cause it werent f available here). Always fond of those guys, much fun.
G'day Beth,
I only found your channel last year so have been catching up on earlier reactions, especially to my favourite songs.
Jack Black does have a Brilliance for mating Rock & Comedy, he may not have the most beautiful voice like Pavarotti or Freddie Mercury but the skill he has to sing with his tongue planted firmly in cheek is just Awesome.
You can tell the way Jack Black approaches his singing it's like he walks into an echoey hall and he feels that resonance with his voice and the pressure waves you can tell he loves that feeling and hit every time sometimes you just sings the song for when he feels that he hits every note perfect there are some really good performances by Jack Black and how he does what he does and dances around on stage like a Galah is unheard of.. also Kyle gas is an underrated musician not to mention their close connection with the Foo Fighters
So many good memories there. ❤️
Yeah! Great analysis about one of my favorites songs in the world, you're so good Beth.
And what can I say about Jack Black and Kyle Gass, they're great.
Yeah they are great!
Beth your roar at the beginning nearly knocked my headphones off!
ROAR!
Music and comedy are really hard things to mix and you have to be really talented to pull such a thing off. Tenacious D are masters at this, love them! :)
Well said 😁
Best one yet. One of my favourite songs ever.
Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome. And the ending was actually a play on the "greatest song in the world": That was taken straight from Stairway to Heaven, both the melody and the singing style - which would normally go "aaand she's buuuying a stair.. way to... hea-ven"
The "Scatting," is not only my favorite part of this great song, I believe it's one of the greatest things I've ever heard in rock. Ever.
Your reaction channel is the best, and I watch a few. Thanks.
Wow, thank you!
I have this exact concert on DvD! Its an amazing show! lol Tenacious D is amazing!
Seen them play live twice in Manchester. They were amazing. Long live the D!
Amazing!
Seeing them live is probably the best thing, they're the funniest duo ever
i love this song! but i just cant stop staring in your eyes, theyre like an ocean or something!
The chord progressions and melodies in Rise of the Fenix are incredible. They're incredible musicians.
I loveeeeeeeeeee then!!! Sooooo muchhhhh i cant describe how much s2
Pls make make more videos about thennnnn
When Jack Black sings he's so good at using his voice he's pretty much always just showing off.
