Came in the comments, but in a different way. Meatloaf was a crucial part of shaping rock in the 70's and 80's. I mean rock anthems that are still played at weddings to this day. "Let me sleep on it, I'll give you an answer in the morning." That's Meatloaf! If that doesn't ring a bell, he played a heavy chested man in fight club. You should check him out @The Fairy Voice Mother. This was so much fun to watch... Oh, btw. You brought it up so I think you might enjoy it. Tenacious D did a cover of hit me baby 1 more time. A really short cover, but if you enjoy it, maybe you could make it longer by reacting to a bunch of their covers... Pinball wizard and wicked games

Not only was that actually Dio in the opening song, but his father was played by Meatloaf. Not just a suppressed rock star, but another actual rock legend. There's a video of Dio singing his part and Jack being in awe of him. Then Dio actually asked if there was more for him to do, because he really liked the project. Side note: Kickapoo is a real town. IDK if there's one in Missouri or not, but there is one up in Wisconsin for sure, as well as a Kickapoo river.

I don't remember where I heard/read this, but Dio supposedly brought his own mic, and the studio crew said not to worry about that because they had everything ready for them. He began to do his part and blew out their mic. He apologized and explained that this is why he brings his own gear, and they had to redo the part with Dio's mic.

Highly recommend a documentary done by Dave Grohl called Sound City. It's about the studio of the same name in Van Nuys, LA. When the studio closed Grohl bought the sound board, and had it moved up to his home studio in Seattle. He decided to do a look back at all the legendary albums recorded at Sound City (including Nevermind by Nirvana) while at the same time asking the artist to his home to record new songs on that old sound board.

An awesome watch is Play by Dave Grohl which is a 23 minute song where he plays every instrument. So he records the full playthrough on one instrument then does another 23 minute play through on a different instrument etc. Its 7 instruments including Piano, which he admits he doesn't (normally) play. He doesn't read music so he had to memorise all 23 minutes for each of the 7 instruments.

You noticed the obvious Dio as Dio and as well, Ben Stiller as the Guitar Center clerk, Dave Grohl as Satan, but ...
There are also other noteworthy parts and cameos, some of which are not mentioned in the credits:
The Dad in the beginning is played by Meat Loaf.
The "creepy Russian dude" is played by Tim Robbins.
The Sasquatch is played by John C. Reilly.
One of the young women in the audience is played by Amy Adams.
The waitress at the truck stop is played by Amy Poehler.
A drunk Guy is played by Colin Hanks.

I always loved Phantom of the Paradise because Jessica Harper does a tremendous job performing the most 70's song to ever 70's. I'd recommend reacting to it, it's very fun.

15:28 Takes me back to a jam session I had with this psychedelic band that told me to sound more like water. I play drums.
I love this btw! One of my favorite musicals and my favorite vocal instructor/vocalist/Fairy Voice Mother.

20:44 That guitar is most likely a nod to Michael Angelo Batio, who is known for playing a similar double neck guitar (and also a four-neck one, as if two wasn't ridiculous enough). He currently plays with Manowar.

The dad was played by a famous singer that went by the name Meat Loaf. Not just a "repressed rocker," but a real life one!

There are so many movies with great music, like Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, Bo Burnham's Inside (pretty much everything he makes), Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, This is Spinal Tap, I know there's more I just can't think of more right now (reply if you can think of others).
Thanks for all the great reaction videos!

Other musical movies? "Mamma Mia" is, obviously, one, if you haven't seen it for some reason. All the actors there are actually the people singing the parts, as well.

PLEASE, react to the video of Dio recording Kickapoo (it's only 2 mins), it's actually the greatest video in the world, not just a tribute!
Also, now that you've watched the movie it would be awesome for you to react to "The Ballad of Hollywood Jack and the Rage Cage", it's makes for a great contrast ("Roadie" is also an epic song of that album).

I was on a mushroom trip with some friends of mine when one of them tried to climb a tree, fell out and literally shattered his femur. Try dealing with a person who might be bleeding out internally while you're tripping balls. Yeah, that was a rough day. DO DRUGS, KIDS! DEFINITELY DO DRUGS! Just don't let anybody try to climb things on them.

Arguably, Jack Black's biggest hit early in his career that propelled him suddenly was the movie HIGH FIDELITY with John Cusack. Jack sings a great version of the song "LET"S GET IT ON" , the Marvin Gaye classic.
