If anyone knows for sure let me know! Something I remember for sure is that he didnt know if he should do the surgery cause he felt like that constant pain fueled his art and worked as an inspiration for many songs he wrote. • @matthewbeach2952
      @matthewbeach2952 3 года назад +12

Kurt and anyone for that matter will benefit from vocal lessons. Rock musicians especially seem to be anti lessons or something. If Kurt had lived longer, I’m sure he would have felt the effects of his technique. Usually technique like this is pretty hard on your voice. But Kurt was also pretty gifted with his voice, maybe he would have been alright. Anyway the point is, he may have though they were a waste of time, and although he’s one my my all time favorite musicians, that’s just plain wrong. He may have seen a shitty vocal coach that wanted him to change his style. But any good vocal coach like Beth here would be able to help Kurt make his voice and technique more healthy/reliable WITHOUT him losing his style. Take Layne Staley for example. He had a LOT of lessons and the result was that he was honestly a lot more polished of a singer, and still as raw as Kurt. But just like Beth said, the beauty is in the imperfections. So I still prefer Kurts singing. That said, the music is what it is and I wouldn’t change ANYTHING if I could.

Hey Beth! I love your videos. I honestly didn't know what to expect as far as your reaction to this one. I think Kurt was a phenomenal singer with an incredibly expressive voice that ranges from beautiful to blood curdling. As you said, he's not always technically perfect, but he is extremely expressive. So many people don't get that about his voice, and about his guitar playing. They fail to recognize the obvious intensity in his expression and just hear it as someone who can't sing well, completely missing the point and the beauty of it all. To see that a true vocal technician like you not only gets it, but appreciates and marvels at it is awesome.

That's because Kurt Cobain isnt exactly Andrea Bocelli. The only reason he broke through is because he had a unique sound and style.
Bleach is mostly anarchic noise. There is a reason they named it grunge. Chris Cornell and Layne Staley hated that term and the fact that the 90s trend. Put their music in the grunge section.

@@StreetSpeed10 actually I can take him on, but no I couldn't do better. However, Chris Cornell could, and Layne Staley could, and Eddie Vedder could, and these are all 90s misicians. But the only people who know these three guys and their talents are either musicians, many 90s kids, or are hard into the 90s music era. Today everyone knows about Nirvana and THATS ALL. Post millennials never heard of bands like Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Alice in Chain, Pearl Jam, Mad Season, etc.
Those guys were geniuses. Kurt Cobain was just mediocre guitar player and a mediocre singer, with a "different" style whose lyrics made no sense at all because he purposly wrote nonsense ro which he confessed.

No one is saying that Kurt Cobain was an awesome or great guitar player. We're talking about his voice and his lyrics. Kurt Cobain had a different voice and sound than anyone else, which is why so many people like Nirvana's music and give it such good reviews.

Kurt actually didn't spend much time with learning to sing. He went to a lesson, recorded it and then played it back around the bad. He couldn't stop laughing. He was a heavy smoker. Should do a video or 2 on their drummer, that Dave guy.

He really lays it on the line. It's somewhat the words, and let's not forget his beautiful melodies, but what he presents, really, is the story of his life all in the tone variance of his voice. There are not many singers who care to reveal that much of themselves. But then there's Kurt delivering his message so in your face, that you don't notice that the guy is basically nude.
He's not afraid and his expression is so raw and honest that you cant help but love him. If you want to be loved you have to be lovable and he is that in so many ways.

He def hurt his voice. i love his melodies and songs .
      And of course it
seems he didn't even try to sing with proper form and that affected him negatively
      sometimes.
I mean he could not even get through this song without cracking and losing his voice in sections.
You hear it at some bridge to chorus areas and at end on the last couple lines.
      Voice goes out .
He was a great talent but as a punk rocker he never placed value on proper form.
Doesn't bother me but it does bother his longevity and all
It was as beth said all about "singing with raw emotion"
