I wanted a chopper with a long Springer when I was 9, and asked my dad to extend my Taco Minibike forks 6 inches. He was an Engineer, and wouldn't modify them any longer. I created a coffin tank out of wood, and mounted it myself. Watching this video brings back many old memories. Thank you Ian! Your trike is beautiful! Well done.

So glad I found Ian's channel. I love the TV show. Man, that trike turned out Perfect. I love the lines and those rear fenders work, I was skeptical, but knew if Ian was making them it's probably going to work.

Nice trike. Unlike a lot of the custom choppers of the early 2000s its very practical and ridable but still captures the chopper aesthetic.
Sweet machine. The only serious change I would have made. Is using the curved spring from a 40's through very early 60's tractor seat mount. Love the design!😊
Cool build, but I wish producers would learn that the people that watch this kind of content want to hear the motor run without the music!

If I had to make a guess, I'd say the engine sounds great! But unfortunately, the producer thinks we would rather listen to the music that they play on the home remodeling videos.
Man I tell yeah. I have been seeing a lot of old goldwings people with very little money are picking them up for around $500. to $1500. bucks.
They strip them down and bob them out. The thing I have noticed the most is the engines. Those old 70s and 80s goldwing engines are cool looking. Sort of reminds me of a Volkswagen engine.
Now, I want a trike like this.
We all “need “ to do this! Your real man, your use of the sawzall is proof. I’m looking for a goldwing with reverse now, I bet you would like a little suspension on that tractor seat though, Love the show and the trike

I've watched Ian since his start he's definitely a true fabricator no prints just do it from a minds eye and make adjustments as you go this trike is really awesome one of a kind

I was trained up by my great-grandpa Jerry the jerry-rigger. I prefer to think of myself as a mechanical cobbler. I'm currently putting grandpa Jerry's old 52 Dodge pickup body on a 99 Dodge Durango chassis and jet ski swapping a Jon boat. If it weren't for my loathing of the editing process, my RUclips channel would look strikingly similar to yours! Well done sir. 👍

This is my Favorite build of Ian's . And I just read in the comments it in Victors years going down hill . It's unbelievable. I was always wondering where it was . I remember watching the episode when Ian was trying to make a clear top at Victor's house and one shot I thought I seen it but until I read that comment I didn't know .dose any one know if Victor rides it ? It's a Great three wheeler .

Brother, a Subaru Brat REAR fiberglass seat (faces the rear of the car - there's 2 of them that get bolted in the bed of the car (like a mini El Camino) - one of those seats would be sick on there

I have a 74 honda davidson trame is trash still have the tank and with the gauges fabbed into motors still good always wanted to build a trike on a low buck approach now I have the incentive and a guide to go by Thank you your a great fabricator looking forward to see what you come up with for your next build !! I have a vietnam war era Jet Turbine generator that is complete and runs i have been hanging onto for years for some neat project dont know what tho any ideas ? thanks again
Why not put the fuel in the frame and make the coffin tank open up for the electronics,key switch,lights........ a little different from the rest of the old school tanks and go with hidden cables look more like a big wheel!
I have two of those old sohc Honda 750s. One is on an old Amen Savior frame. The other is on a A&E I think? Made for a Honda 550 four cylinder. I butchered it up and got the 750 to fit.

Not really a new concept but well made. I used deep dish rims to keep mine narrow. 4" is not that much that a cv joint couldnt of taken care of.
I own a 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1500 with only 20k miles on the new motor and I'd LOVE to have you modify it into a Can-Am type trike with two wheels up front, and one in the back. I sent you an email, too. I do not have a big budget at all, but I have lots of trade bait we could discuss. Thanks Ian, Mike in CA.
I have a 2004 FLHTC. 1450 TWEEN CAM WITH A TRIKE COVERSION ON IT. BUT U CAN TAKE MINE OFF AND RIDE IT LIKE A BAGGER.
Only question i have is how to obtain a title for a vehicle that you build yourself..... whats the process, so its legal ?

Idk about that little bike clutch turning that diff with them big tires, might need to change the gear ratio to make it wake.

Wish you could do stuff in my state of Rhode Island. You could but it would probably be next to impossible to actually get it registered and be able to be legally on the road

Easier than doing a regular gold wing because you don't have to pull the motor on this set up

I got.my forst bike at 6..a yz 50.had a old honda 80.then xr 100 ..yz 125 a Suzuki katana 600 all stunted up..and got hurt.they said id never ride again..i couldn't accept that..after 19 years of healing and i needed somthing.inrede a grom clone scoote.czuse i cant not ride but i need somthing better a trike and auto or frward controls sporster my left knee.jst dnt bend much so
