Good call on taking your creation back to where you got the front forks etc, he looked absolutely enthralled. Years ago I picked up a '84 Honda Goldwing, a true barn find. The owner had literally drove it into a barn parked it on a piece of plywood and walked away. It had been sitting for 19 years when I got it and it was a mouse condo. After a ton of work (cleaning, tuning, sourcing parts etc) I rode it back to show the former owner. He said it looked exactly the way it was when he parked it. Both of us got a little glassy eyed as I fired up to leave, and I'm not ashamed to say it.
When he got so much skills & talent he get to meet cool people even from the old days to get inspired and to do more projects.. i really love his show because is something different we use to watch MTv -Pimp my ride, Boyd Coddington -Hot-Rods, Chip Foose, West Coast Customs.. and OCC (orange County Choppers until they split-out and create Paul Junior design..) But -Ian show is different is working on anything : Bikes, Buggies, Cars, Hott-Rods and Rat-rods, old school bubble glass roof, customs sleds, Low-riders, Trucks and Semi-haulers as pick-ups tippers hot stuff that is why we love it so much !
IAN and EVERYONE ELSE - P L E E Z E ! Use proper respirators when using polyester resin and filler, and especially when working with glass fiber. I built a lot of surfboards and sanded lots of filler over the years on other projects, and no COPD or CANCER at 74 because of good respirators. Also was an airbrush artist for 35 years. Love your videos, Ian. Love the creativity.
In 1972 I built a VW trike from Rays trikes in Ontario ca. I had it two weeks and when I was in Riverside CA. I pulled out on Main Street. When I got Popular and Main . A gal in a 69 El Camino ran moved over me ,sent me flying 150 feet thru the intersection.. The trike broke in three pieces... So after about 4 months I decided to built another trike , This time I built my own frame... I designed it after a Harley.. No fiberglass body.
Oo wee. That trike might have been built by Ed Roth himself, the nose is definitely one of his (or Ed Newton's, who designed stuff for him) designs. He built quite a few of these back in the day.
Don't underestimate these old trikes. VW transaxle are slightly overdrive in fourth. A mildly built engine on lightweight and properly weighted and trued frame will easily top 120, or better depending on tire diameter. 😏
They make some really nice kits now that fit quite a few bikes. If you have a place to do it, some tools and a little bit of mechanical know-how, it shouldn't be too much of a problem to convert your old Harley for not a lot of money
I dont mean to be a party pooper but i personaly dont like that front end on that trike , looks sorta stubby ,( short) and that piece of fiber glass hanging over the front tire does no look good , actually it looked better without the fiberglass body , maybe , just some nice wide seats and fenders to keep the dirt, dust etc. of you ,oh and longer forks. Its my humbble opinion . Overall the project was cool and i love the manufaturing . Love the show .💥👍
This is a flashback to the 90's and all those god-awful chopper shows. This trike could have been made at the Teutel's shop--with all the cornball dialogue to go with it. It looks like every misbegotten trike ever made, with all the worn-out cliche's, tires at least ten times too big, sappy paint job, etc.

Thank you Ian. Your a creator of many things.
You start them, you build them, you finish them, you ride them. We love them.
IAN IS AN AMAZING AUTOMOTIVE AND MOTORCYCLE GENIUS. HIS MIND IS UNREAL . A TRUE PROFESSIONAL.

Thank God that there is Bondo to cover all his work! He is not a fabricator, but a sculpture!
AWESOME he makes things one of a kind just like him
You nailed this one Ian. Awesome
Fantastic project! Ian, please make video about the Blue Demon trike. Thanks!
Old school meets new school to equal the perfect build... This is beyond words as far as content...
Definitely an omage to Star Trek, looks like a cross between a Klingon Destroyer and Bird of Prey ...
😆 Yup !
I like everything you did with the trike I just would have liked to see you leave the big back fenders😊
I could watch Ian build whatever and be drawn in

Nike trike bike 👍
Gosto muito bom 😍
Starting to look like a trike!
U should go with cv axles independent rear suspension
That fiber glass body was the same style as the Black Widows Trike in Clint Eastwoods movie Any which way but loose?

Ian I really think that you should have used steel for the entire body of the trike and some really nice pin stripes down the middle
I saw two different kegs in that video the one you picked up from the old man is totally different from the one you used on the trike

I need a 3-wheeler now, I can't really ride a bike anymore I want to make my old Harley into a 3-wheeler so I can ride again.

I made mine a trike from Frankenstein Trike. Back into the wind.

Love the show .💥👍
That body is purposely moulded for a short front end. Check out the old magazines.😊
This guy can take rust and turn it to gold. Don't you agree?
😁👍
And again it needs guards . It just doesn't,t look finished . Love it though .
Does he have any new stuff? This was 2015?
You showed this video last year.
