Not just the heat, the force opposing the torque that's trying to tare the friction lining straight off the friction disc. The pressure plates must use a lot of spring pressure to make all this work so well. I can only imagine the hot spots on the flywheel from repeated full load/full throttle launches as well 😳

The real action shots are inside the cab. These guys throw their whole soul into the shifts and it's epic. Spartan kicking a clutch capable of holding that torque is no joke and if a throw for a shift is off by a hair you're screwed. Definitely get some in cab footage next time.

@@banditdarville. I believe the chassis is flexible like that on purpose so that the frames don't straight up snap in half from the sheer torque. I do get how it compromises rigidity, but when you're hauling a 120,000 pound load of plywood there's really not much you can do about that if you're watching from the sidelines.

Had this exact thing happen running a custom holset on mine and 3 seconds later my windshield was covered in oil and my turbine shot out like a mortar 😂
The white truck that won has some kind of engine managemet that no one else seems to run. It rolls out 20 feet and the the black smoke starts pouring. Also he doesnt shift as much as most trucks.
That truck has a newer motor, the x 15 platform is a lot newer, and is still being produced, the Cat engines haven't been on road for decades. I can't wait to see the guys get x15 trucks figured out, especialy like you said with the timing and power management that he is doing.

There was a truck there I haven’t seen called Fat Cab. The owner had the only common rail 8v92 two stroke diesel in the world. He’s even using an aftermarket ECU (maybe Holley) to control it. It’s freaking wild and deserves some screen time.
Started driving tractor trailers back in 1976. I’ve been to at least three of those shows. Those are some pretty special machines. Especially when they start running the big boy toys. Some serious chicken haulers. Those that know, KNOW👍🏻👍🏻🤙
every video of you guys going to a new race scene you aren't really familiar with, seeing the difference in the drivers slowly warm up to you when they realise your genuine and there for the good times and promote their sport, heartwarming asf 🙌

I was shocked when i saw American truckers driving 85 mph, thats CRAZY!!! Like nobody questioned the stopping distance of that weight at that speed.
At first I thought it was piping since I heard the bang, but I have only had a pipe come loose at like 15 psi... At the levels these guys run it must be LOUD.

Plus, there are people inside, and nobody is wearing seatbelts! I’m impressed that they’re able to handle these beasts, but I sure wouldn’t want to be in the cab next to them!

It is a 12v71 it has single heads on each bank, and a 12v92 has 4different heads each 3 cylinders it is basically 2 6v92s bolted together

164,000lbs GVW is the limit for on road in Michigan. Off road areas in parts of the US and Canada exceed that by a large margin though.
