So here I am, old dude 6500 + hour pilot flight instructor...etc...watching this and am spellbound. Her radio work is spot on...she had good instructors...and obviously a quick study and very sharp...and her tailwheel skills are spot on, control inputs etc...great pilot
I was just thinking the same thing! I'm an old dude with just shy of 500 hours and I'm taking notes on her workflows. Very impressive.
Lol I'm sure that's what you old dudes were thinking. Sad.
Eh? Giving her positive feedback is not sad.
I completely agree with your sentiment about being able to see the world from such a cool, different view because of aviation! Every time I take a regular, commercial flight somewhere, I always get a window seat and look outside with such a sense of wonder, like a little kid, especially on takeoff and landing, even after flying many many times. It’s so amazing! I’m always curious how the other people don’t seem to care and get on their phones right away. Thanks for taking us along with you Stevie!
It needs to be more affordable. Plane prices are out of control.
@@adventuresinbytes at the end of the year, I’m going to post a video detailing everything I spent to buy, own, and maintain my C140A for the first year! Hopefully it will give some transparency on the topic since I feel like there’s not a lot of info out there. Typically smaller airplanes themselves aren’t more than cars (my 140A was $33k) but maintenance is where you get hit in the wallet 😅
I’m a software engineer like you in wichita Ks and I was very curious as to how much it is to fly. But you’re in socal so I’m sure your total comp is much more than mine
@@bayflight That’s an awesome video idea, looking forward to it. How many people work on their own planes? I assume few because you have to be certified to do the work and get everything checked off? Unless maybe it’s really small, preventative type of work?
@@bayflight
Say what now? $33k for a 60- or 70- year old car? Yah maybe for a a "veteran" 🥴 (I think they stopped making the 140 in the 60s) but even so, for that much you should get a "classic" in top condition and low, low mileage. A rattly, noisy, underpowered, _tiny_ aluminium box? Maybe a third of that price!
I was a T-37 instructor at Williams AFB 1972 to 1975. Been to Albuquerque many times at FL210. Saw a NASA F-104 do a Immelmann turn there out of traffic over 50 years ago. I love the fact of young women like you embracing aviation. You are doing a great job keep it up from an old pilot. It takes a lot of grit to go to Oshkosh solo in a Cessna 140. You go girl.
I always LOVE how you leave in your checklist rundown in all your videos. I love how it shows that no matter how many hours you have as a pilot, it's ALWAYS important to do your checklist and it helps remind student pilots like me, how important it is to never get complacent. And I agree with everyone else that leaving your communications in the videos is so helpful! I enjoy the videos very much! Happy and safe flying! Blessings! ❤😊
Thank you! I always try to leave at least some or all of at least the first checklist run in. If I do cut it out, I always put in text to indicate that I'm doing the runup. I was taught from day one to never forgo a checklist, and talking through it helps keep me accountable! I'm always talking to myself while I'm flying, it really helps me stay ahead of the airplane.
Noted on the communications as well! I'll try to insert some other radio communications down the line too!
Safe flying to you as well! Thank you for watching and for the kind & helpful words!
I'm a retired Air Force aviator with around 4000 hours flight time and used to be able to recite the checklists from memory. But if you didn't have it out and using it you'd bust a check ride! Checklists are great.
Yeah, I mean I'm no power pilot, and it's a long time since I flew gliders, but Stevie's professionalism just shines through!
Not a pilot(yet) but I remember flying with my f-18 pilot brother and as I vividly remember, he too verbalized his check list. I thought it was just him liking his own voice🤣
@@chrisbuckley8148 😆😆😆
Thank you for leaving in the traffic radio talk at the beginning. It's super interesting to hear how other pilots communicate with the towers and how the tower helps direct traffic. I've been waiting for this video! haha
Thank you so much for watching and thank you for the kind words! FFZ is a CRAZY busy airport and it's so fascinating how ATC manages it all!
I agree with you! It’s also super helpful for a pilot who is just getting started, coms are so overwhelming and it helps a lot to hear!
“Do you have GPS?” I was laughing even before you replied!
The traffic real radio talk is your trademark, Stevie. It is such a pleasure to see a pilot so concerned and focused about safety and also be pationable about people, to see America from a different view and the love of flying. I really hope you get loads of opportunities to keep you vids flowing. 🌻🌼🌷🌺🌹
hi stevie, i’m 17 and a female student pilot and you are my biggest inspiration. i love watching your videos💗
i just ordered a hoodie too💕
Every time I read a comment about your pre-flight check-list I nod my head in agreement. I can sight several NTSB reports wherein it was overlooked.
Always fun to watch "where in the world is Stevie".
23:14 Flying indeed has a deep philosophical/existential side to it that can overwhelm you. Especially when you're caught off guard by some breathtaking clouds or scenery. The sheer beauty can be very emotional.
What an exhilarating title! A scenic flight through Arizona and New Mexico sounds like a remarkable journey, especially in a tiny airplane. These states are known for their breathtaking landscapes, from the vast deserts to the stunning rock formations. Imagine flying over the Grand Canyon in Arizona or the White Sands National Park in New Mexico - the views must be absolutely awe-inspiring from above! Every day of such an adventure would bring new wonders. Keep embracing these big adventures in tiny airplanes! 🌄✈🏜
Wow. Today’s women are incredible. I’m a subscriber to one that has a sailboat, one that is solo in a van and goes all over one that travels by motorcycle, one that tents. One that hikes alone. And now I’m a subscriber to you. Young lady. All of you are inspiring and I do a little of all those. So proud of you all. As a father of 3 daughters 3 granddaughters 4 sisters. Keep up with your dreams.stay strong. Love God. And you’ll be ok… Surge
Love it. One thing I would add (if it doesn't involve much extra editing) an occasional avation map showing your location. Makes a nice reference to smaller airports. I've lived in AZ for 40 years and really had no idea of St. John's.
You lost some weight and looking trim. Good for you. I really like that vintage plane. Not the fastest bird but she is still fun.
I am from Catalina Island and certainly appreciate your choice of hats today....:)
“HECK YEAH I AM!” 😂❤love it. Keep up the awesome vids 🙏🏼
Yay!! Good ole Falcon Field in my home town of Mesa, AZ! Ha, there's the famous Falcon Field water tower. Another famous local landmark right off your nose at 5:30 into this video is Red Mountain! I spent many a High School weekend party on that mountain back in the 80's! Roosevelt Lake at 9:50!
Love your channel, and love watching your fun videos Stevie! Especially this one!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for taking me along with you on your trip to Oshgosh. As a pilot who has been grounded due to medical conditions I enjoy the ride. At 77, I miss the adventure of flying in California.
As a fellow female software engineer that is unfortunately disqualified from flying due to a litany of health conditions, I am so grateful that I can live vicariously through you. You are an inspiration and please keep up the good work! 🤩
Likely you would still be able to qualify for LSA license. Go ask.
Very sweet of you to mention that@@lynnkramer1211. I was surprised to see that the FAA has some exemptions. I'll have to look into it, it looks like Sweden (where I live) has something similar, though there have been some court cases where licenses have been revoked due to diagnoses. 🤔
You are simply awesome
Lovely young lady
Really loved this leg of your journey. Show Low used to be my home airport and I solo’d on St John’s. So many memories and absolutely the best part of AZ. Thank you for sharing.
That 140A is impeccable. It must be a blast to fly even if it is a bit slow, but that is the fun part, to be able to see the landscape pass by. Great job Stevie!
Thank you so much!! Flying the 140 is so relaxing. Neal Aviation and ArtCraft did such a fantastic job on the restoration
I want to fly to Catalina with Stevie. :)
Stevie ,
You’re such a cool kid. I love that I can go along with you on these trips. I always wanted to learn to fly and even took a few lessons but then 6 daughters came along and that was the end of that! Love every one of them and wouldn’t change a thing but I hope you realize what these videos mean to so many.
Cheers,
Kevin
You must be what freedom feels like! ❤
Love your taste in music!
You are living the dream….! Woooooohoooo
Classy aircraft. Safe skies. o7
I Miss 5291 Charlie 😢
Thanks for taking us for the ride! Absolutely love the radios, the guy at 14:40 seemed very enthusiastic 😂❤ and the views are stunning, so different from up here 🍁
Albuquerque is one of my favorite places on Earth. The diversity of the land and people is astounding, along with the immense history of the area brings a sense of overwhelming grandeur.
Stevie, your professional flying skills just never fail to impress. Thanks, as always, for sharing the trip. :)
Really enjoyed this. Was born and raised in Albuquerque, and most people don't realize the city and airport are at approx. the same altitude as Denver. Thanks for sharing your experience.
Great video and scenery , as a retired ships captain and marine pilot it's very interesting to see how you navigate and communicate, thank you . Enjoy yr flying
Great video ! I've never heard such a laid-back sounding controller (Falcon Tower).
Thank you! And right?! Clearly wasn't his first rodeo with all the traffic hahah. The controllers at FFZ are great!
I find the radio traffic relaxing.
I picked up that trait while in the service. One aspect of my "job" involved being on a radio net for extended periods of time. Some guys got bored with it. I was one of the goofy guys that relished it.
Thank you for sharing this as a part of your flight time. It keeps the flight relevant and interesting
Taxi driver?
@@d8o8m8 That's good.
The MOS is Air Support Operations Operator. You serve as a Recon/Guide for every branch of the service; monitoring movement, placement, equipment and personnel. You durect traffic in and around all sorts of hostile situations involving Air Craft to Ground Troops. The goal is to keep them alive while they take care of the bad guys. The work environment is from the rear echelon to the raging front, being that scout that every group needs.
Therefore you listened to a lot of info.
@@d8o8m8 Firefighter would have been my guess. 😉 You know, between cooking meals and video games.
Your videos make me want to get a pilot’s license
Stevie, I saw your 1st video about flying to Oshkosh and noticed you adding oil and then again on the second video. I've used Total Seal Gapless Piston Rings in a lot of diesel & gas engines and thought I'd mention them. I don't know what is acceptable oil consumption in your engine or if you'd be inclined to talk with Total Seal and your aircraft mechanic about sometime in the future using their product. They are great people to deal with and I'm sure they'd love to talk with you. I hope to ride a scooter to next years Oshkosh and say hi. BTW as a Vietnam Vet Army helicopter crew-chief (& worry-wart) I have encouraged pilots to carry along a Arai m/c helmet with blue-tooth capability. Just for that 'what if' moment. Your videos are spellbinding, cheers!
The little Cessna that could. I think i can , i think i can. Haha
I agree with everyone else, that airplane is gorgeous!
Thank you so much! Neal Aviation and ArtCraft did the resto-mod, and it turned out even better than I expected! Very proud to fly it!
I really enjoy your flights ,I wanted to fly years ago never did, watching you talking to the tower it’s like talking another language lol I am always waiting for your next trip I really enjoy them be safe I am glad also you take us along with you I love the scenery
Thank you so much! Talking to ATC took a lot of practice and confidence building - I still rehearse radio calls to myself before I make them sometimes!
What's most impressive to me is your command of the ATC language, I like it! 😀
Flown most of the smaller Pipers and Cessnas but sold a 182 last year. Thanks for keeping me in the air. Miss my 170 time out of Murray Field in Eueka, CA
9000' in a C-140, that is a feat in itself.
Another great flight Stevie! Thanks for taking us along. I work in aviation and it gets monotonous and frustrating. Watching your videos of your flights brings back the joy and excitement of flying. Thanks!
Your paint and interior design choices were spot on, Stevie. The 140 looks amazing!
Great job all the way around. Incredibly clean and beautiful airplane!
Beautiful landings. Love Albuquerque...🎥😎👍👌👊🙏🛩❤️
Hi Stevie Triesenberg! How are you? First, forgive me for my English! Second, I love your videos! I just try to understand the "American Airspace" Classes, especially for VFR flights! I find it very complex in some situations! I would love it if you made a video explaining the VFR rules in the United States! Thank you very much for everything! A big hug from a Brazilian Fan!
This leg brought back fond memories of flying around the desert southwest from Embry-Riddle in Prescott, AZ. General aviation has a special place in my heart so it's a pleasure to see proficient young pilots serving as role models and sharing the love. Well done.
9:43 Roosevelt Lake and dam, Spring Creek bridge, my stomping grounds, stop by next time 😂😂😂 ✈️
Wow I’m impressed what you do. I never been in a plane or flown. But wow u have guts be careful and stay safe
Started following your channel when I noticed you were flying into San Carlos, CA. That's just up the road from where we live in Menlo Park.
My dad was an aircraft mechanic during WW2 and eventually worked for United Airlines at SFO. He commented it was a thrill when he taxied the planes that were being serviced. He also said a female pilot made the nicest landing of one of the planes he prepped before it was shipped overseas.
Glad to see you have been successful on RUclips and have gotten some sponsors. Looking forward to more of your adventures.
This young lady is over the top awesome. Good luck in everything you do!
1:07 Hey, nice hat! 😄 Greetings from KAVX-land!
Thank you a lovely flight with you, you are such a happy person to be flying with cheers form AUSSY
What an outstanding job of refurbishment from paint to interior it's an award winner
I never thought I would see someone fly into Show Low, welcome to my town!! Hope you come back soon!!
Cute little termial building WITH TSA. We have a commercial flight (the one who passed you on the way in and took off again before you got fuel) 3 times a day to Phoenix Sky Harbour.
Nice i was waiting for this one I'm from NM and lived in ABQ for like 6 years.
Hi Stevie thanks for sharing another awesome video, what a wonderful way to spend a day and the bonus we get to come along with you 😀. There's some beautiful scenery below you, thanks again for sharing with us take care and stay safe 👍 😊
Absolutely love your content. I flew with my dad growing up in his Piper Cherokee and would listen to him talk with ATC while we flew. Just brings me back... You seem so calculated and on top of your game up there.
my favorite part is always when you yell "clear!" What a beautiful plane ...
Just popped up on my iPad, so I immediately cast it to my big screen, your videos are so well done just love them. I’ll watch my iPad for the next one 😊safe travels.
U r living the dream. Many of us would love to live such a life. Thanks for the experience
I've enjoyed flying with you since I first discovered you. Precise, excellent communication skills and smooth flying. I have a love for V-tailed Bonanzas, with many hours in a V-35B. I think it is very cool that you bought and updated your Bo very respectfully to the vintage appearance, but much safer mods. That said, you did pretty much the same with the 140. A Cessna was my first airplane, 50 years ago. As nice as your Bonanza is, the 140 fits you like a glove. Excellent job sticking the landing at Show Low! Nose up in the turns...🛩
It all looks especially awesome from a very cold dark evening here in London (6.10pm).
I always think it would be amazing if those automated weather updates would start with "Greetings Professor Falken". Another great video, thanks Stevie.
Very Smooth first Landing Stevie. Thanks for sharing the Beauty of Flying with us. The views are amazing from the 140 indeed. 😊❤️👍 PD The Background Music is Fantastic! 🎶
I truly enjoy flying along with you on your adventures. You are such a good pilot. Very thorough and meticulous.
KSOW is one of my favorite airports to stop by. As a Northern Arizona GA pilot (based out of P52), so much to see, experience mountain and high densiity altitude flying, and just great small town folks.
If you ever stop by KSOW, stop by The House restaurant. Very delicious.
Safe flying....N7240A
Beautiful C140 in its new look. I love tailwheel aircrafts, I did most of my flying in these taiwheel aircrafts. Looking forward to the other legs of this trip😊
Thank you Stevie for taking us along, looking forward to the next journey. Beautiful scenery by the way..Love from the UK.
Thank you so much for watching!
Awesome ❤
I finished my ppl last year in Germany and while it wasnt cheap, I just always love being up there enjoying the world from above. Owning a plane is cost prohibitive for me but in a flying Club its possible. I have one at my City so its just 3 miles by cycle to go flying.
I enjoy your channel. Many appreciation from Germany
Wonderful; thank you!
What I love about this content is I feel like I'm along for the ride and I've never even flown before. I may have to get a discovery flight now.
Love your videos, hopefully tacking my check ride soon, building a Vans RV4. Did I mention I’m 70😎
AMAZING!
Loved watching day two, loverly and clever young lady.👏💐
Love the Show Low calls
Thanks for bringing us along 😊
Great trip my son and I flew a 172 PhX to Minnesota. A little nerve racking but fun!
Such an inspiration
Nice leg of the trip, the little 140 is performing great. Looking forward to the next part of the trip.
Beautiful Airplane good job with the restoration.
Love this. Thanks for taking us along. ❤
Wow, the terraine is amazing!
Thanks for sharing, stay safe
just found your videos and I am loving them. Thanks for taking us along on all your journeys.
Discovered your channel yesterday, love the little plane compared to, FE, Dutch Pilot Girl in a big plane. It's so funny seeing your little 140 using the same runways as the big planes, you do a great job. Can't wait for the next installment! From a fellow SW dev at Perforce... Take care.
Great job! Thank you for sharing.
Outstanding video......thank you...
Love that plane!
Glad to see part two of your Oshkosh trip finally posted, I’ve been patiently waiting for a week 😂. Love your videos, can’t wait to see what’s going on at Oshkosh 🎉
Thank you so much for the kind words (and for waiting for the video 😅 )! I hope you enjoy!! This part of the flight was so beautiful!
Love watching you fly!
It would be cool too to see what you do after you leave the airport….your way to the hotel, what you eat. You get to see all these cool places, it would be neat to see a little bit of the town too. Loved your flying over Show Low. Lived there as a kid. We owned a liquor store. The Indians would come in a trade a piece of jewelry for a bottle of whiskey.
I'm hoping to share more of that in future videos! On this trip, I was honestly going straight to the hotel, doordashing something to eat and working/sleeping during all of my downtime 😅 I have some fun day trips planned for early 2024 where I'll share more of the places I'm visiting!
Awesome!
Amazing video as always Stevie
Nice plane!
Amazing
