      @@SpaceCoastShane There is a n aftermarket power lift that can be installed now (quite pricey though) which makes the frunk operate exactly like the trunk, locks in when it closes and all. I think the convenience of not having to manually interact with it may increase its usefulness

      You're still paying for it one way or another, albeit at a higher effective interest rate than buying. Right now you can sell any newer Tesla for +-5% of what you paid for it (not including state tax incentives). This is how Ive driven a new Tesla every year for the last 3 years straight.

    • @spacecoasttesla
      @spacecoasttesla 2 года назад +1

      @@cyumadbrosummit3534 you're completely wrong about the fact that you'll have to pay for it. It's just not true. With this option the lease is paid for either partially or entirely because you use it for your business. Im not talking about flipping cars here, thats common sense. Im talking about tax work arounds to get something you otherwise couldn't afford.

    Hi Tesla guru here (im working on my humility, sorry)
    You asked for tips :) Firstly THANK YOU 🙇 so very much for an honest and helpful review on Tesla technology; this makes many Tesla fans (both the scientist and the automobile owner clubs) happy.
    I loved your review on the yolk, as well as the gear switching interface, two things that have been a significant change in 2021, including better external noise isolation (a problem in pre-2021 Model3).
    Here are a few SUPER TIPS to make your Tesla life more enjoyable! (if you can make a video of them, great!)
    1. Driver profiles can be used for more than just setting up your wife's configuration VS your own; you can set up a profile for Resting and put your best to a sleeping state, AC to a bit cooler state, and move the yolk away. In the future, one tap will switch you from being in the car to being comfy at home, ready for a nap between long stops.
    2. You can also create a Performance profile VS Cruse profile setting completely different settings when you want a smooth drive (higher hydraulic, chill acceleration, comfort steering assist, etc.) and Cool drive (low hydraulic, sport stiff steering, full power to throttle, and set that seat low, back forward to better handle G on turns, (Performance S can tweak more stuff)
    3. Voice controls that make your guests LOL
    - My ass is freezing
    - Turn on life support
    - Open the butthole
    4. The outside speaker can be set to custom audio. You can shame ICE cars by Farting at them when you honk or download a memeful sound quoting movie lines.
    5. The sneak, Teslas can drive slower than people can walk, if you accelerate at one mph in parking lots where needed, you will grab a lot of attention because it's impossible for engines to drive lower than 1st gear, no AC sound makes it creepier 💀
    6. Tackle turns using Regenerative breaking, a skill to learn is to understand that regen is unique in the sense that it can decelerate mid-turn; no longer do you need to slow down before a turn since you can enter it at reasonably higher speed and control your momentum while in-the-turn (low hydraulic please). Professional drivers get a serious kick out of this feature that cannot be done in ICE or other EVs that don't offer strong enough regen capability.
    -----
    I'm thrilled that this is your first EV, as I have had plenty of EVs since 2017, and they used to be shameful, experimental, unusable, hobby objects comparing to what Model 3 and later Tesla vehicles demonstrate; the bar is high. (Be better than ICE) and cheaper.

    • @SpaceCoastShane
      @SpaceCoastShane  2 года назад

      Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to provide me with these tips - I will absolutely use them! I'm loving being an EV owner and really appreciate the culture. I will do a follow up video to this and add some of these tips and more :)

    Video was very well done. I’ve had a long range for a month and I can say that getting use to the blinker isn’t as easy as I’ve heard. You have to look for the most part to charge the signals vs not having to before and we didn’t save any space by deleting them. I don’t mind the yoke at all, but when I drive my other car with a round steering wheel Do miss the wholeness of it. But, IMO it’s hard to hate the yoke and not a reason to not buy the car. So let me congratulate you for choosing the Tesla model S, and for starting your channel, and as a point of information everything you did manually you could've accomplished using the voice command feature, and this is particularly important when you're driving a vehicle manually as you are required by law to be in full control of your vehicle at all times including when you're using an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) like auto pilot.
    So full disclosure, I drive a Tesla Model 3, and I purchased Full Self Driving (FSD) and so when I drive I always drive using auto pilot, and it should be noted that, during your review you talked about the size of the rearview mirror and the rear window, and the fact that you weren’t able to use your knees to steer the car something you really shouldn't be doing anyway, so Tesla is driving the technology to where you won't have a steering wheel or petals, and the only reason those mirrors are on their vehicles is to satisfy the DOT requirements, and so remember the Tesla CyberTruck was designed without those outside review mirrors, and they had to put them there again to satisfy DOT requirements, as Tesla understands that they’re really unnecessary, and that they do not add any real value, instead they add cost to the vehicle, works against the overall efficiency of the vehicle adding unnecessary drag to the vehicle’s design.
    So Tesla has imagine a future where their cars will not be driven by humans, because we are not very good at driving, and the statistics bears that out every year, as you can only teach people a skill to a certain level, and then you are into the law of diminishing return, and you don't get any better at it, therefore, the only way to reduce the number of fatalities on our nations highways is to get humans from out from behind the wheel of a motor vehicle, and so that's where the technology is going, and that’s the reason why, and you played the sound bite by Elon Musk when he said that, “investing or buying an ICE car would be as useful as owning a horse.”
    So here's wishing you safe driving, and I look forward to seeing you in your next video. Cheers🥂

    Face it, for what $15k the vast majority of Tesla Plaid buyers get them for one thing....they are the fastest cars on the planet (a caveat here that I should mention is other European cars that come fairly close to the Plaids performance usually cost at least double the Plaids base price, and the Rimac Nevera, which is about a half second faster than a Plaid, last week was certified legal for all countries safety requirements, will only have 150 models made and costs $2,400,000 before options!) that you can buy from a manufacturer that you don't have to spend an additional $20-$30K to modify them to still be slower than a S Plaid. AND for you folks that agree and have interest in speed rather than how far we can go on a charge, or how much your Teslas will be worth 3 years from now, or the minor fit and finish issues that are always mentioned by Tesla haters, and are usually taken care by Tesla when mentioned when you buy this Model, this will be right up your alley! The TOP LINE Lucid Air offers 1,111HP, while the Plaid offers a supposedly 1,020HP, BUT there is a RUclips video that has a Plaid on a 4 hub dyno that develops 1,101HP STOCK from the factory. The Plaid also weighs approximately 400 pounds LESS than the Lucid Air, and averages between $20,000 to $30,000 Less than the advertised $179,900 than the Lucid costs DEPENDING ON OPTIONS CHOSEN for each car.
    Last month a Tesla Model S Plaid in Napierville, Quebec set the new record for the fastest quarter-mile time for the electric sedan at 8.83 seconds and 161mph.
    The Model S had a stripped out interior for weight savings, as well as SV104 wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson drag radials at the rear and Michelin PS4 tires on the front.
    Not content with the blistering fast time, the same Model S Plaid has set a new record this week. At the same track in Napierville the Model S crossed the line in just 8.77 seconds at 162.55mph (261.60km/h), a 5.67 second 1/8 mile time and an outstanding 125MPH to 162MPH time in 3.1 seconds!!!
    As for what changed that allowed the car to go faster this time the owner, TMC user mulot30th, said there was an additional 60lb weight saving over the previous attempt due to someone else being behind the wheel on the run.
    Additionally he said there a slight change to the suspension.
    “Main change is suspension geometry change (slight) which reduce “tire drag” a little bit at least that is what I intended to do with that and have worked,” he said.
    Interestingly, the top speed at the end of his quarter mile run of 162.55mph is inches away from the electronically limited top speed (when not in Track Mode) of 163mph.
    As first told earlier this week, Quebec-based Ingenext was able to hack their way past that limiter and reached a top speed of 216mph (347km/h).
    As for this Model S Plaid, the owner says that while the car does not feel like it is slowing down when crossing the line, he feels there is not much room to improve beyond 8.77s with the current setup, but a BIG brake option available from Tesla and several other Tesla specific after market parts dealers at a much reduced price, and TOP OF THE LINE HIGH SPEED RATED STREET TIRES should also be used!
    You can check out the record runs both of TOP SPEED and FASTEST QUARTER MILE time on several RUclips 9

    Great video, however, I do think you gave the frunk an unfair rating. If you look at it from the perspective of another trunk then yes, your rating was dead on.... but I use my Model 3 frunk as a large glove box! I keep snacks, wipes, cologne, mouthwash, business cards, gloves, hats, glass cleaner, etc in there... I also added an electric frunk opener, so opening/closing it is a breeze.
    Not sure if they have that for Model S yet.
    Interesting point about lease write off. I'll have to explore that

    • @BobbyJr
      @BobbyJr 2 года назад +1

      @@SpaceCoastShane Hansshow auto is where I got my Frunk opener. I installed it myself. and to be fair, I didn't use my frunk much until I could auto open/close it. Again, I literally think of it as an extended glove box, so I don't go in there very often, much like my glove box; so all that to say that I agree with you, it's not practical for "everyday use" IMO either...
      I never really think of using it to transport stuff like groceries, etc. but when there's an unexpected cool breeze and I need a jacket, or if I need some Lysol wipes, or if I need to change to a lazy pair of sneakers, my frunk is right on time! Just a thought... your car is WAY too nice not to love every part of it! LOL

    Congratulations on the new Model S & thank you for sharing. I am a current Tesla owner (Model 3 Performance) & just test drove the Model S LR. It does drive great ( like all Tesla’s do) however, when I was changing the suspension I was getting banging noises. I tested it before driving & while driving. The Tesla rep said he asked service if it was normal & they stayed “yes”. Are you hearing any banging noises when lowering & raising the suspension? I found that kind of odd, especially paying for a car over $100k. Lastly, I will admit, the yoke was hard to get use to on turns & signals. In terms of speed & IMO, I did few like the Model 3 performance was slightly faster then the Model S LR.
