He was the one to make his father stop having the affair, he was the one who told Lagertha about it and he chose to stay with her instead of Ragnar and Aslaug. If she weren't the mother of his brothers I think he would have killed her as well. Bjorn knew what killing Aslaug meant to Lagertha and felt similar. That's why I think he said this line with pride. He supports her doings

Bjorn and Ivar are both beasts. I think Bjorn looks like a polar bear, while Ivar is a wolverine or some other species of mustelid. In fact he looks more like a skunk bear than Hugh Jackman ever did!

I think that Alex Hogh Anderson looks a bit like one and would be an interesting choice to play Wolverine now that Hugh Jackman is no longer going to play the role. He also has the same musical theatre training as Hugh Jackman...believe it or not, but he is one of the best dancers I have ever seen and has a singing voice that is almost angelic...some of the other stuff Alex Hogh has done is on RUclips but it is mostly in Danish.

Lol, how is Ivar a boss? He was defeated and the bitch ran away to see a traitor, to get Christian soldiers, to fight his battles for him. When it was a fair battle, Northmen vs Northmen, Lagertha and Bjorn destroyed Ivar and Haralds forces. Also remember Ivar is the only one of Ragnars sons that truly despises Christians, since Aslaug 'ordered' Floki to teach Ivar how to be like him. So Ivar betrayed his own principles for victory, or he's been lying to himself for his entire life. It's also infuriating that he can't understand that Ragnar didn't live his life around fame, and rather around progress.

They're over confident, just cause they beat a few people here and there. They never seen Lagertha fight or even Bjorn or Ragnar fight. Thus thinking they could kill any of them. You're smoking if you think Lagertha would have won. The most dangerous out of all of Ragnars sons is Ivar & Ragnar knew this. Ivar will always be underestimated & that is what plays towards his strength. Read up on ivars history. A master strategist combined with a bloodlust chip on his shoulder makes for a deadly combination. Lagertha on the other hand almost got killed last season for underestimating that Paris defense, saved by her earl predecessor. She knows her fate is sealed but she'd be Damn if she didn't go out swinging at least lol.

I absolutely adore the little axe tap Bjorn does on Ivar's face. It's the perfect blend of 'don't kill my mother or we'll be forced to take up arms, which is the last thing any of us need or want' and 'I am still your older brother you up jumped little shit, don't push me or you'll wish Dad was still alive to protect you'. And I do love Ivar. He fully needed to pursue this as far as he did and I have all confidence in him because of his relentless pursuit of justice for his mother, regardless of her many, many wrongs. All the same, that little tap is just ingenious.
Even if Bjorn hadn't intervened, there was no way in hell Ivar and Ubbe could have killed Lagertha. Ivar's nuts and Ubbe's smart, but Lagertha is simply in a class of her own.
Why is everyone in the comments overhyping Lagertha that much? Who did she ever kill in a 1on1 fight to make people think she could take even Ubbe alone, who tore through her bodyguards like paper, let alone him and Ivar? The only one she ever beat in a fight was King Horik's wife, who at the time was as old as she is now. Without Björn, she would've died here.

Ubbe is no coward or psycho like Ivar and would go in a one to one combat (which he will normally win), but Ivar would be dead meat. he has a big mouth, but he can only kill when he has the moment of surprise because his victim does not expect his attack (nor would any sane person). I can't wait till this weird psycho is gone, and it will be soon. Alfred the Great has only fought the likes of Ubbe and Guthrum.
None of them are Ragnar but each carries a piece of him, one of his traits but none have them all, the closest to Ragnar is Bjorn, I think Ivar is his own person but his dominant trait is ragnars ruthlessness and next is his brain while Bjorn has Ragnars strength and he is wise as well having fought with Ragnar over the years

Doubt it. The throne is his anyway. And like Ragnar, he probably enjoys the hunt better than ruling anyway. So having his mother sit in the throne is a win-win.
I think Lagertha would have won that fight. She was totally sizing them up, getting ready to parry as soon as one of them attacked. They might be the sons of Ragnar but she has far more experience in combat.

Look at real history that cripple becomes one of the most ruthless feared rulers of the vikings. Just because he can't walk doesn't mean he can't fight. If he gets her on the ground his level it's over because of his strength. Ivar will rise to power in Season 5. He was a very clever military strategist.

I don't think Ivar should rule Kattegat. History says he conquers parts of England and splits the kingdoms up between him and his brothers. In the series the Seer has also made it clear to Legertha that one of Ragnar's sons will kill her which will no doubt take the throne and that I believe will be Ivar. The writer of the series said in an interview that Ivar will come to power in season 5. That doesn't necessarily mean king, but possibly the start to become the military strategist that he is to become. Ivar is still young and unwise. This war will give him the experience and the wisdom to rule.

I LOVE how Ivar crawls like it's a snake, he looks nonhuman, an abnormality at first but when you look at his face you pit his vulnerability, especially when he attempts to fight. Which turn even more joyful to see him gaining strength.

Well ya, she is tought but is is nowhere near dressed well for fights, all the more the opponents are two, both quite capable , one is at her back and there is almost no room for dodging/evading.. she would be dead if they decided to attack, hell, ivar could throw the axe at her the way he did at sigurd and she would have nowhere to dodge.
Ubbe was behind her, no ammount of experience would prevent you from getting killed by an axe from behind. And no, Lagertha may be stronger than other shildmaidens, but compared to a male viking, she is just average, Ivar is a criple, but he could kill her fast too, if you see how he just throw an axe on Sigurd and killed him, not to mention Ubber was there, and he was behind her, and she had no shield. She would've lost.
He also implies with "so would i" that if they kill Lagertha he would avenge her. Then shifts the focus to unite his brothers against another cause to save his mother. As the oldest brother he simply keeps his siblings in line and keeps then focused on the thing that matters more to all of them

When it was a fair battle, Northmen vs Northmen, Lagertha and Bjorn destroyed Ivar and Haralds forces. Also remember Ivar is the only one of Ragnars sons that truly despises Christians, since Aslaug 'ordered' Floki to teach Ivar how to be like him. So Ivar betrayed his own principles for victory, or he's been lying to himself for his entire life. It's also infuriating that he can't understand that Ragnar didn't live his life around fame, and rather around progress.

I don't think Ivar should rule Kattegat. History says he conquers parts of England and splits the kingdoms up between him and his brothers. In the series the Seer has also made it clear to Legertha that one of Ragnar's sons will kill her which will no doubt take the throne and that I believe will be Ivar. The writer of the series said in an interview that Ivar will come to power in season 5. That doesn't necessarily mean king, but possibly the start to become the military strategist that he is to become. Ivar is still young and unwise. This war will give him the experience and the wisdom to rule.
I loved how through all of lagerthas rule Ivar and Ubbe kept finding a way to undermine her, they made her an enemy in her own home.

She is quite capable of handling herself. She has been in many battles, ax, sword, etc, won every time...
Ubbe was behind her, no ammount of experience would prevent you from getting killed by an axe from behind.
