the weird thing is that Rollo has so much respect for his wife, to just let her punch him, while at the beginning of the show he had very little respect for Lagertha's choice of preffering Ragnar, and he even raped a women before they first went to England. @@cristinademartini1284 Honestly? I think it suits the story between the two but not the overall theme of Vikings. They wanted the historical Rollo so they wrote him into this but his story feels like two seperate parts and the reason why he suddenly becomes a Frankish noble seems odd. For power? A women? I like their little story but in the greater image, it's odd.
There's no such thing as an immortal. I mean some live longer than others, perhaps have more extensive families, but Rollo's dynasty died off eventually.
The same guys who wanted to stay in frankia not to settle, as they had this chance when emperor charles made his offer to rollo and what the historically men who become the normans did, but to RAID paris one second time. They wanted to stick by ragnar's side? Fair enough, but they should have tried to go back to norway and inform their king of his brother's betrayal (which ragnar already knew would happen ever since he got the "bear crowned by the princess" profecy by the seer before going to frankia)as king horik did when he fled from England or just like the only survivor of the wessex settlement did, because don't tell me they wouldn't be able to build some kind of ship or, if they weren't able to, at least they should have known that something was coming at them because, sure rollo had lead them, but the franks, weak all as you want, are not stupid to let pillagers and invaders free in their country, if they refuse to follow rollo, especially after it was ragnar who did break the treat with them. So, it is as awful as it seems because they paid their loyalty to Ragnar with their lives, but they had it coming for their lack of vision and rollo had really no other choice.
I only just realised the irony of how Rollo looked at Hvitserk when he said "once a betrayer, always a betrayer". Massive foreshadowing! I wonder if it was planned.
Can't be mad about it, though. Rollo did the equivalent of leaving a biker gang, getting a good job and living well. Meanwhile, the old gang tears itself apart over dumb shit.

I've always liked the underlying theme of Vikings, that the Viking world they know is changing. The Norse never had rich fertile lands, that's why they raided and weren't often conquered by foreigners. But their faith and way of life just changed and gradually disappeared. Even Vikings settlers like the Normans or the Rus forgot their origins over time, it's quite sad really. At least it's been remembered and loved to this day however.

Wow hvits did the same with rollo
3:56
He's probably thinking "Lagertha was this feisty too"
I love Hvitserk and all but he is a bit of a hypocrite. He called Rollo a traitor, but when him and Ivar needed warriors to take kattegat he went running straight to Rollo
Foreshadowing at it's finest
I don’t know what Gisla said but I would assume she said: “You’re sleeping on the couch!”
If not: "From now on, we shall have separated chambers" XD!
so this is the 9th century version of coming in late at night after partying with friends
For a second there, I thought Bjorn would go like Ragnar's "In the meanwhile Floki, shut your face" XD
"He will reach more fame than any of you."
He did. Well... his decendants did. Right up to the queen we all know and love today.
Savalisk
Your beloved Queen? LOL hahahaha!
Cersei or Deanyris?
@@FraJa1980 Elizabeth of house Windsor, second of her name, ruler of the United Kingdoms and the colonies of old.
Rollo and Ragnar have more in common with woman then they realized!
the weird thing is that Rollo has so much respect for his wife, to just let her punch him, while at the beginning of the show he had very little respect for Lagertha's choice of preffering Ragnar, and he even raped a women before they first went to England. So I thought it was interesting how he went from an pretty aggresive , not very respectful man to such an calm ruler and loving, respectful husband.
Gisla is so cute when She gets angry
Amd a force of nature XD!
“Once a betrayer, always a betrayer“ evil foreshadowing from Hvitserk
3:18 It was at this moment Rollo realized he done fucked up
Rollo was a great man l love him
"Leave us... Cuz I'ma bout 2 tear N2 this ass."
Rollo became a great man , this series does a magnificent job at portraying it
For those who are a little bit curious to see what Rollo received after have though that Gisla forgived him ( XD look at Rollo"s face at the beginning... thanks God husband, you came back to us ! hahaha she cooked something special for him, no sex during a year ! )
French is my mother language, but this is old french and rather difficult to translate, she said : son of the whore, bastard of north man, bitch... I curse you !... Why did I meet/or marry you !
You left out 'you fucking dog'
and she was speaking modern french not old french. I speak canadian french and understood every word just fine
When rollo gets home and gisla is all nice he knows shits bout to go down.
3:51 what a punch XD
Yes... Yes, it was. And a good one at that.
@@Arcaryon and well deserved, let's admit it
@@cristinademartini1284 No denying that.
@@Arcaryon yeah... what a pity, with all this character had become in 4a :(
@@cristinademartini1284 Honestly? I think it suits the story between the two but not the overall theme of Vikings. They wanted the historical Rollo so they wrote him into this but his story feels like two seperate parts and the reason why he suddenly becomes a Frankish noble seems odd. For power? A women? I like their little story but in the greater image, it's odd.
I like when rolls wife is just cussing em out in French nd he just sighs like “here we go with this shit again”😂😂😂😂
Rollo is still my favorite character his dynasty will be immortal and I believe he will avenge his brother on his own time.
There's no such thing as an immortal. I mean some live longer than others, perhaps have more extensive families, but Rollo's dynasty died off eventually.
EmptyMan000 aren't his descendants the royal family of England
Shadow King but his blood is still in the throne of england
the British royal family are Rollo's descendants
Who through Queen Matilda are also the descendants of Alfred the Great and of course for the show King Ecbert.
Gisla's so awesome here!! Loving wife and perfect duchess, and then... LEAVE US!!😂😂😂 i love her!!
No matter what time period or how great a warrior to are NO MAN CAN HANDLE NAGGING.
Gisla & Rollo - Couple goals!!!
While nobody knows if Ragnar existed or not, everyone knows the who's the ancestor of the Kings of England.
Seeing Rollo in the dog house on both sides was so satisfying…..you reap what you sow
3:53 Rolo: "My woman"
I’d be that one guy that says “no thanks, rollo. I still remember what happened to those last guys that stayed with you”
The same guys who wanted to stay in frankia not to settle, as they had this chance when emperor charles made his offer to rollo and what the historically men who become the normans did, but to RAID paris one second time.
ONCE A BETRAYER, ALWAYS A BETRAYER
Can't be mad about it, though. Rollo did the equivalent of leaving a biker gang, getting a good job and living well. Meanwhile, the old gang tears itself apart over dumb shit.
Helga thought about it like I'm kinda tired of this sh*t. Might be a good retirement plan lol

1:01 Bjorn knew Rollo did what Ragnar dreamed of
Damn, she was pissed....
And with all rights...
Fuck what anybody says, rollo did well for himself . I loved that for him
Rollo is in the dog house for a while.
Love the punch 😂👌
The bloke who played Bjorn is fucken good actor, he choked saying too much bad blood
He said, sorry kids, gotta go back for more Taken series chapters for season 3
Rollo died pretty old for that time 84 years old.
That's old even now lol
It´s nice to be latin language speaker and understand what she says...
Sure u are..
3.52 When you've been out for two days with the lads
3:25 calm before the storm
"He will reach more fame than any of you" When I was younger I had a pewter statue of "Rollo the Granger" in armor with a spear and shield and sword, way before I read about Ragnar or Ivar or any of the other famous vikings, Floki on point as usual lol
Fun fact: Rollo is older than Ragnar, and looks 20 years younger than him in his 50s.
No, on the show Rollo is 1 year older.
That is true, that Rollo is 1 year older, but I said that he LOOKS 20 years younger than Ragnar.
My bad, must've read that wrong. To be fair , Ragnar looks old for his age.
Probably the reason for the age look is mainly because of Ragnar's injuries at Paris and his later addiction to drugs.
And he looked much older than Ragnar in the beginning of the show.
Hahahahaha, what Gisla shouted at Rollo is what you first learn in French.
I do speak French and these are the first words I learnt, and then, colours, numbers and house pets lol
Rollo had the most tumultuous life and the most peacful completion of his arc.
The Merovingian was right. Cursing in French language is like wiping you ass with the finest silk. The worst words that you can throw to someone sound like high class vocabulary. So melodious.
More like Carolingian, but yeah, i agree!
Rollo ended up being one of the greatest and smartest. He had spread the Viking cause in Normandy.
Home sweet home.
"once a betrayer always a betrayer" state by clearly the most loyal character in Vikings, Hvisket 😒 pot calls kettle back...
Gisla putting together a nice combo attack. I love the punch and then for good measure, she Nate Diaz Stockton Slapped him to end that combo.
Lmao gisla going ham at the end always cracks me up
he was more famous, his descendant was william the conquerer
CONNARD !
Nice to hear my favorite insult in my native language 😎
