“I might break a bone, but I’ll never break a promise”
-Ivar the boneless
And then immediately breaks his promise not to fight his brothers with that famous Ivar logic of a 14 year old "Well then you're not my brother anymore!" You made the promise to the people, edgelord, not the title. Man Ivar is such a little shit.

There is just something about the way alex plays ivar that I can’t get enough of! I love how each of the brothers remind you of ragnar in mannerisms and speech sometimes!
Sigurd is a reminder of ragnar killing a snake being a simp during his younger years
@@eyosyastebeje9555 Siguard’s principles are actually not that bad, he doesn’t take shit from anyone. But the actor’s acting was weak and him talking shit to Ivar all the time is very petty. He had many warning of Ivar’s short temper and he should’ve seen the axe coming.
@@jokerman9295 the actor was OK to me🤷♂️
@@jokerman9295 sigurd is better than bjorn
I mean I think Siggurd didn't show any because he wasn't Ragnars son
The Ragnar voice: 1:41. Great performance.
Alex is just making this season great... He is unbelievable. To me, he is the most fascinating and talented actor on the show right now. Well, along with Gustaf of course.
Nice catch
@@squashedeyeball agreed, have you seen the 5b poster with Ivar? Epic shit
Cheers man. Yes, the new poster looks amazing. I can't say this enough, but Alex is my Travis after Travis. He was the saving grace for in in 5a, especially in 5x9 and 5x10... Without him, I think the entire show would crumble apart, with plots and actors who just can't equal his charisma and unpredictability (Like Travis and Linus back then).
@@squashedeyeball agreed, I'm sure he will blow us away in that scene, he knocks it out of the park and his performance is a reason to keep watching. Love or hate Ivar there'd be no show without him, what the plot would be about? He is the one to cause enough trouble for everyone and in that way he is what drives the show in Ragnar's absence. And the only actor to match Fimmel's charisma and iconic scenes as Ragnar.

Ivar is a genius.
I completely agree with ivar. I dont see why Ubba can just ignore what Lagherta did and out of pure pettiness. Its her fault all the brothers got torn apart cause she had to be petty and kill aslaug even when she just surrendered.
IKR! And they he had the guts to tell Ivar the he broke the family, when that was Lagertha. The could have banished her, without killing her, but no, they chose to stand with her after she killed an unarmed and defenless woman. So much for being a warrior.
@@braveandblessed9279 but there were two versions of there mum one that was caring and loving and one who couldn’t care less Ivar got the loving and caring side while the rest got a mum who couldn’t give a shit so they weren’t exactly troubled by her death
@Agent 47 I wasn't talking about that. Regardless of how she was, her death by Lagertha's hands was what caused the division among Ragnars's sons. If she is gone, they will all be together. It won't be perfect, but there is a possibility that war won't happen.
@@braveandblessed9279 but their mum did wrong by lagertha by taking Ragnar away from her basically taking away everything she loved
@Agent 47 No one can take someone from another. Thats an excuse made to ignore that they were betrayed consciously. In that era, polygamy was accepted. Lagertha wasn't the first woman to share her husband nor the last. She was the one who left and didn't look back. She could have fight back, but she didn't. Aslaug, as horrible as she was, had a right to demand Ragnar to acknowledge their child. She didn't separate them; that was Ragnar, and it was Ragnar who betrayed Lagertha not Aslaug.
The scene with Haldfan and his brother was the most heart breaking.
Kimberly Platt Yes! Halfdan face after Harald say he kill him. What A great acting right?
Kimberly Platt I feel the same. They were great together

Anyone else think bjorn walked off to stand by himself because when ivar was talking about avenging his mother he knew he was right?
Judging by how he immediately, ruthlessly turned his back on Hvitserk and sentenced him to be burned alive, I'd say you're right.
Bjorn always knew Ivar was right for that and Bjorn didn’t deserve Ivar’s wrath all because of Lagertha
Bjorn literally said he’d do the same thing in Ivar’s position when he stopped them the first time.
Probably so
Would of been cool to get a conversation between bjorn and lagertha on the consequences for murdering Aslaug instead of Bjorn just saying “so you got your revenge “
Harald and Halfdan was honestly the most heartbreaking part.
The Seer says it was Ragnar's death that caused his son's to revolt against one another, but in reality it was Aslaug's death that drove Ivar over the brink. Lagartha's pettiness is what drove them to kill each other.
Had Ragnar not died he would have tempered Ivar’s need to kill Lagertha.
@jaylamont2870 Had Ragnar lived Lagartha wouldn't have killed Aslaug, but she waited til he left because she knew she couldnt face him, like a coward.
Anyone else notice the look on Hvitserk's face when Ivar tossed his drink in Ubbe's face? "Ah shit...you didn't have to...every damn time... I knew Ivar was gonna show his ass. " I know it was a serious moment but that little grimace cracked me up. It was so relatable to anyone with siblings, regardless of the actual issue or time period.
the look of anger in ubbe’s face when ivar pushed him is great. and when bjorn stands up almost like hes about to be the big brother and break up a fight
1:40 Ragnar is that you??

HOW BLUE ARE MY EYES?
Damn this has more meaning after 6x20
@@ilili37 'your eyes turned so blue Ivar, not today' uh that line made me sobbing
Yay he died finally man
If Lagertha had not killed Aslaud, the Lothbrok brothers would probably not be fighting. Certainly, Ivar would need another reason. Does anyone else think that her timing was way off? Why did she wait so long to get her revenge - especially after she hugged Aslaug and made a big deal about 'the dept already being paid'? There were not very many women watching that scene who weren't thinking: 'WTF!' And what, did Lagertha think Ragnar was going to return from England after she killed Aslaug and thank her? And, when Ragnar died, wouldn't the throne go to Bjorn? The writing this season has really not been that great. Ivar is supposed to be a genius, but he just looks impressive yelling alot - aside from the unbelievable York battle in the bottleneck. I hope they are saving an amazing surprise for the end.
Yup. Lagertha fucked up BAD, and Bjorn's the one who suffers from it. I hope he survives and heads back to the Mediterranean or hangs out in Karelia with Princess Snaffleballs!
LaRae Vikigs elect their kings, they didn't had a clear succession. Being king didn't mean anything that big.
Lagertha killed her because of her undying desire of power. Nothing else. She was the watrior who helped Kattegat be what it was, Aslaug just sat on the throne.
That's true: "and look what you've done with it!" That was a good scene between them... Still, I think Lagertha should have stuck around and killed Aslaug immediately after Ubbe was born - maybe after Hvitserk. If only *I* had been Lagertha, LoL! Then again, we wouldn't have Ivar; and he is being a lot of fun. ;)
LaRae She has an undying respect for Ragnar. She even confessed that in her mind, Ragnar and her are always gonna belong to eachother and live forever together in Valhalla.
Back when Ubbe was born, Ragnar was still a proper husband to her. He lost all his desire for her after Aslaug had served her purpose.
When Lagertha attacked, it was sure that Ragnar was out of the picture.
She'd never attack when Ragnar was in charge.
She kinda thought, this soft ass bitch doesn't deserve Ragnar's kingdom so I should have it.
That took away my husband thing was just a good excuse.
Yeah, I suppose it didn't occur to her that she would cause this much anamosity among the brothers - and frankly, she deserved revenge. Ubbe doesn't even want to be on her side - he's just there because he & Ivar had a disagreement. I think Lagertha has a big death scene coming up on the last episode. They can't keep her character going while looking that young; and they seem to have a problem with not wanting to age women, LoL! I'm sure they will make it as glorious as they made Ragnar's. Keep your tissues close. ;)
Mad respect, he said that in front of everybody he didn’t give a single fuck💯
Hail King Ivar, he was badass as fuck is this part. He was completing right in want to revenge his mother, Lagertha at that point was smug af
Best part is when King Harold cracks up , very in character for him.
I have a feeling that Ubbe is playing the long game, by allying himself with Lagertha and he has every intention of killing her. He joined forces with her because at that moment he was at war with Ivar and needed her support against him. But as we can see he is trying to make peace with Ivar, so that he may focus his efforts towards Lagertha. Lets not forget that Ubbe was the one that upon hearing of his mothers death charged towards Lagertha to kill her. He also was the one that along with Ivar was going to kill Lagertha, before Björn stopped them. Remember the scene there Lagertha and Ubbe were talking about Ubbe freeing Margarete without her permission and he tells her she didn't ask for his permission to kill Aslaug. He also reminded her that she may not be queen for long. Lagetha then told him that he looks much like how his father was as a young man, showing a weakness. These scenes make it clear to me that Ubbe will most likely kill Lagertha and he will do so with poison, seeing as Floki thought him how in season 2. He knows that Lagertha is a strong warrior and he may not match her in combat so poisoning her is the safest bet. Also it would be poetic for Lagertha to ended by the one weapon she never used a womans weapon
Erik Persson i wont agree with lagetha being stronger warrior than ubba .
Ubba is stronger
Strong was perhaps the wrong word, never ment that Ubbe is weaker. I ment that she is an experienced fighter and war veteran, which makes her a formidable opponent. She makes the outcome in a fight unpredictable and that makes it safer for Ubbe to poison her as I'm certain that she will kick his ass even as she is dying I could be wrong though nothing to do but wait and watch
Agree, it's the phrase: keep your friends closer and your enemies even closer" he's playing silent for me, while ivar is more emotional (Alex's words)
Ubbe would curb stomp Lagertha in combat. Only ones on the show I could see taking Ubbe are Bjorn and Bishop Heahmund.
He could perhaps take her but it wouldn't be without challenge. Lagertha is a extremly skilled spearwife and war veteran she is also fit despite her age
Where are you Ragnard lothbrok to put everybody in his place
Tarik El Ghazi would be so great if he just came back to life and started bitchslaping everyone screaming "who wants to be king?!" again
I feel like Ragnar was the rock keeping everybody in check
+ Chicken Permission I am not coming back, I am not interested in ruling anymore =)))
Ali Chaudry
Ragnar loved Lagertha until his death. He never loved Aslaug but he married with her to get children. Ragnar has said it many times: he is grateful to Alsaug the mother of his children but doesn't love her.
He was right about Ivar being smart and different but he didn't know about Ivar's madness so he would be on the side of his first son Bjorn and his first wife Lagertha.
This is a lie. Ragnar dont go with aslaug because he love her this is true. But (he said himself) after Ubbe was born he start to love her (and he say he love her many times) Ragnar will NEVER ACCEPT Lagertha Kill Aslaug just for Jalousy and ambition. and no in this case he will not support Lagertha, even Lagertha himself know this she wait Ragnar go to wessex to take Kattegat.
Break a bone but never a promise....awesome!
"You, are no longer my brother", he meant that shit

0:54 was a powerful moment in this scene. I think you can see Ivar considering his love for his brother overwhelmed by the fact that he would betray Ivar and his mother. At that moment, I think Ivar killed his brothers in his heart and felt alone. Thoughts?

Just realized this was the last time they were together...
I know and yet ubbe still cared about ivar after this
But seriously though, why would you hang with somebody who killed your own mom?
@@Heeem13 Ubbe was pretty selfless and willing to put his personal feelings aside if it brought him closer to achieving Ragnar’s dreams.
@@alexman378 which I don’t understand, the only one who initially didn’t reject Ragnar was Ivar. Ubbe and the others waited his death to act and play the sons coming to avenge their dad. That’s why I can’t side with him
@@laurenciak6802 What show did you watch? Only Hvitserk and Sigurd talked shit about Ragnar, Ubbe was interested in finding out how he thought and how he used the power he had, Björn was defending him and said he was the greatest man in the world to him, and of course, Ivar respected and admired him. All had their issues with him for leaving, especially the younger ones (and rightfully so, even Ragnar admits it). They just didn’t want to go to England, as Bjorn later said, on a journey to his death. Plus, in hindsight, Ivar was let go because he didn’t seem threatening. Had a beast like Bjorn showed up to accompany Ragnar, they’d never let him go, they’d probably have him killed as well.
I tell you, I'm a little pissed off that Kathryn Winnick all but assured people she's coming back for Season Six. One is because it really takes the tension out of this whole season to know that Lagertha is smugly going to assume she's going to survive everything that's thrown at her and she's RIGHT. The other is that Lagertha has become near unrecognizable as the person she once was. Much as Ragnar became so broken that it was painful to watch him carry on until he finally died, Lagertha has become a smug, arrogant, hypocritical, and bitter woman who sees nothing but enemies in every shadow. I hope they finally kill her next season because she needs to rest easy in Valhalla, not carry on as a tired shell of who she used to be.
Her character must be almost 60 years old, she cant stay for long because this is getting ridiculous, she cant look exactly the same

Saaaame.
Kind of off point but the best thing about the presence of Jarl Borg's son (whose name I cannot for the life of me remember) is that the legacy of Jarl Borg survives. Honestly, not only was he a unique and memorable character but you don't go through a Blood Eagle without screaming and not earn enduring respect. He did just that, even though he only lasted a season. Bjorn knows it, we know it.
Agree 100% Crip. Jarl Borg went out like a BOSS.
too bad Ragnar didn't allied with him, instead of Horik. Borg was one of my favourite characters
"Of course aim goin' together" - that's what I heard
I loved the way he said lagertha here 😂 1:55
The Blue eyes thing is true and freaky. I have a mild form of what Ivar has, and when the white of my eyes are a darker blue than their usual light blue it means I'm having some sort of calcium issue in my skeletal system. This scene confirms that the show is going with the theory that Ivar had Osteo Genisis Imperfecta which is a brittle bone disorder. It's weird that his junk doesn't work though, unless he fractured a disk in his back, which can't be the case because he isn't paralyzed as he uses his legs. Many people with this disorder end up looking like dwarfs because they break their arms and legs so often as children they don't grow correctly. I, like Ivar have the rare mild form, which in his case meant he broke his legs so often they're malformed, and in my case I've got crooked fingers as I've broken them each many times, and I needed a corrective brace to fix my right foot from turning out because I broke it learning to walk. I count my blessings though, I've seen the documentaries and been to the Shriners hospital and seen the worst cases. No damn cure either.
Bjorn wanted him to be wrong, but he knew he was right
Harald understood what Ivar was doing. Trying to get them to fight in an unbalanced state.
I loved this, I knew he would never give up that easily
0:22 Harald is like "excuse me wtf??"
I understand Ivar pain! I would do the same.
But damn. Ubbe is a cheat code. His character is 1 in a Trillion!
truth is... i haven't watched a second of this show but im watching hella clips of Ivar the BONELESS
Same bro
Honestly just watching the clips is better than watching the show after Ragnar death.. if the show focused on Bjorn and Ivar more it would of been better, but too many side plots
By the gods of TV drama, I want to see Ivar debone Lagertha.
Ed Harley yes
i want to see bjorn to kick ivar's arse
Bjorn isn't even as big as Ivar in the History Books of Vikings. Ivar was even a legend by now, the most dangerous warrior and the best ruler. He's going to take Kattegat so that means Bjorn and Lagertha aren't going to succe.
Bjorn Ironside is easily as big as Ivar the Boneless. Maybe bigger considering he founded the Munro Dynasty in Sweden.
Ed Harley Dont worry, itll happen just like the seer said, and you can tell lagertha is scared. Its going to be funny seeing all these bjorn lagertha fanboys crying cuz ivar raped lagertha
Although Aslaug asked to die in that speech, it was Lagertha's mistake. The war between the brothers would not have been avoided because of Ivar's thirst for power, but he would have one less reason to be angry at everyone! Ivar is the best viking!!!
Aslaug didn't ask to die. This is a wrong interpretation. Lagertha is a b**** who was jealous of her.
Oh stop. Ivar was always going to try and take the throne.
No no,even if he had ambitions they could have been held back or negotiated but aslaug death is just telling him to take it@@MikeySkywalker

0:29 “not today Ivar, not today”
I love the bit with the banner carriers lowering the banners and pointing them at each other menacingly as soon as swords are drawn
Ubbe is such a good little dog for Lagertha
Halfdan is awesome and what a great shot with the flagstaffs blowing in the breeze
That bit about "how blue are my eyes" is because Ivar supposedly has osteogenesis inperfecta, which sometimes causes a bluish tint to the whites of the eyes. Alex Hogh Andersen's natural eye colour is a very pretty shade of greyish turquoise, just like those of my son, but here he looks like Nicholas Cage.
people hating on Lagertha, it isn't the character. It's Winnick who's annoying. She's just a one note actress. It's painfull to watch her having the same reaction from threathening Athlestan to losing her child. She has no highs or lows. It's just monotone

Rewatching this to me Ivar took over the show once Ragnar was killed
Never understood how bighorn can take his revenge but ivar cant
I just noticed how Ivar told Lagertha and Bjorn to leave but not Ubbe. Something fishy is up and I like it!
He said you, he meant ubbe lol
Lol ivar just left the battlefield hoping that bjorn and the gang would kill harold. My god he is wicked.
Ivar pretty much has full control of the army, and they follow him mostly. Harold is just the king of Norway.
I agree. From the preview of the next episode it seems they are all begging ivar not to do something or they are scared. My guess is that slave girl who was looking after Bjorns kids has given them to ivar.
Dylan McCarthy You may be right, but to balance the war since lagertha has got the samis, Theyre working with the franks and with them then theyre unstoppable, and those pussies will be at Ivars mercy
Yea Herald siding with Ivar was a bad move on his part..
This my friends is , *IVAR* *THE* *BONELESS* !
Do not be afraid of his greatness, -welcome- it.
Harald empties his cup, lagertha is unimpressed.
Ivar throws the mead onto ubbes face, lagertha expression says it all.
i love that Ivar the Boneless wants to kill Lagertha
Ubbe still looking like a coward with the snake that killed his mother.
How is he a coward? And siding with Lagartha is better than siding with the psycho brother killer.
Taimoor Shah exactly... some people perceptions are morally fucked
He is a coward.
Wesley Malutama explain why
Veni Vidi Vici yeah, because plot armour. In real life Ivar the Boneless disappears from history long before Ubbe or the other brothers die, and he'll eventually lose to Alfred anyway.
Yasss Ivar ✊
Yeppers... Ivar is the center of all the swirves... Ragnar knew the cripple was the only one who inherited his madness!!!
Am I the only one who supports Ivar rather than lagatha
yeah I also don't like when he chooses too fight against his brothers, but I don t like lagartha so I want him to kill her
I don't support him as king right now, he's kind of crazy lol. But as a warrior or leader of an army? Yes. I want him to kill lagertha,, even though I like her, she really is going down hill.
Edep No you're not! I totally support Ivar. Lagartha deserves what's coming to her. She stands there giving a speech about how Ivar will tare the family apart, when in fact she did that once she killed their mother. This is her doing. I with Ivar. How the freak you decide to kill someone 20yrs later! #GoodGrief!!!

Trisha Hunter
Also, for all her talk about her love for Ragnar, she flat out REFUSED to go back to Wessex with him and instead usurped his kingdom the second he left.
“I don’t want peace. I want problems. ALWAYS!!!”
Ivar in a nutshell
I always hate laguertha, since she killed one of her equals just to save a foreigner from being rape, an unknown woman that was to be killed anyway. Then she forced a man to take care of a son that wasn't his and forced him to take care of his cheater wife to. She is the most selfish and ambitious character on the series, she doesn't have any problem to kill anybody just to get the power she wants
Um... Odin confirmed that Bjorn was Ragnar son. And she knew Rollo before she even met Ragnar. Pay attention!!!
Even when he's shouting his voice is sooo sexy
The best of all😂😂
ONLY IBAAR🙏💪🔝
This show will come crashing down without Ivar. He'll probably be here until the very end.
0:27 look at ubbe's face he is so confused it's hilarious. Great scene, great performance.
I think ivar threw the water in ubbe's face because he was the only one who drank, when everyone else suspected that something was wrong ubbe showed too much confidence and maybe that made ivar more upset.
I never understood why halfdan went against his brother all he had to do was not get involved.
Bad writing
