Lovely GCF's (Gerry's Crafty Friends) as I got a bunch of questions about the drying time, it seems I didn't explain clearly enough that the drying takes some time as the plastic wrap is blocking the air that's needed for the alcohol ink to dry. I let it dry overnight and obviously edited out that part😉You can test if it's dry if you touch the plastic and you can't move the ink anymore, so you don't get coloured fingers!
one of my fave background is to smoosh ink directly onto plastic wrap and crinkle wrap then put it onto cardstock, push on the wrap and lift., beautiful. can add more colors too. it’s instant background!! 🌸
This is a perfect tutorial for a beginner. You only need a few colours of alcohol ink and some rubbing alcohol to get started. The results are very satisfying and pretty. Who doesn't love creating backgrounds.
Was just writing my card ideas from your vlog and I thought what about embossing ink using a pen then powder or foil? But I don’t know how to do foil like that. Do you think this is possible…?
Love, love, love I have never used plastic wrap with alcohol ink.Amazing! I used it on watercolors and markers .This is much easier and the result is stunning.Thank you for sharing.Bedankt hoor!
I love watching your videos ! They all turned out so pretty !!! Thank you so much for showing us different techniques ! I always looking forward for your next video !!!! 😁👏👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Wow these backgrounds are stunning! Great technic which I'm excited to try! This is really cool and very addicting. They do look like precious gem stones or fossils. Also reminds me of batik, the technic of dye and wax on fabric. Thank you and look forward to more of your super technic videos. Love the cards too! Be well, stay safe.
Those are beautiful backgrounds, now I can use up my alcohol inks that have been sitting in the drawer for a long time. Thanks so much. You're always so full of great ideas and inspiration.

WOW!!! I am in love with this technique and am definitely going to try it (maybe even later today). Thank you for sharing this with us, the backgrounds turned out amazing.
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much! I'm new to alcohol inks and this is brilliant! Quick question: do they bleed through the cardstock? Thank you again for sharing this. It was so simple and makes it less intimidating to try.
you're welcome💖 Yes they do bleed through cardstock and they won't move like they do on Yupo (which is a plastic kind of paper) If you have a bit of a slippery surface then you could try that (like photo paper for instance)
@@GerrysCraftRoom How long did you let yours dry before removing the plastic wrap? I made some right after watching your video but I think I removed the plastic too soon.🤔

Utterly fantastic! Just love these! What about crumpling the plastic wrap in your hand and dabbing it here and there to make impressions ? This was cool and reminded me of exactly what I did on the walls in my house with 2 colors that were very similar decades ago! It looks dreamy in very light colors. With white and light blue for example, in paint. Hey! What about same technique on yuppie with paint? Sorry my brain just took off! Great great backgrounds! My favorite things!
Who would have thought the word cellulite would be in a creative video? These turned out lovely. I need to break out those inks again. I think I'm almost ready to get back to creating instead of just making plans.
Just watched this video again Gerry, i now have more colours of the alcohol inks. You said the plastic wrap can be used again but how? Do you add more ink onto the wrap itself? TIA, Ann (one of your biggest fans:-)
Hi Ann, if you use it with the same colours you can use it in the same way, if there is a lot of in on the wrap you can add some alcohol/blending solution on your yupo paper. Adding on on the wrap will get messy, but you could try😉 Have fun💕
Wow, those backgrounds are stunning! I only have two colours of alcohol ink, so far must get some more 'cos I want to try this. Is Yupo paper like photo paper? (I have some of that)
Love these type of backgrounds. I don't have any alchohol inks. Done similar with markers and plastic bag. The last slim line care. The middle almost looked like a face in it. Other remind me of a xray of a brain.lol when you dropped the blending solution on them, they looked like them were alive. Interesting to watch. Thanks for Sharing.
