Having FUN is a goal in itself! If it’s not fun, then it becomes dull and boring. I really love this technique. The gold looks like marble. Very pretty backgrounds.
What a gorgeous card. I would never have thought to try alcohol inks with vellum. One thing I learned about alcohol ink backgrounds is that if I make just one of a color combo, I always need a second. So now, when I make an alcohol ink background, I use the same colors on a second sheet, especially if the surface I'm using is economical. The two sheets are always different, of course, but the colors tie them together. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity!
Stunning card Natasha, love, love, love it! You are THE most creative card maker and I am so glad I can watch your videos, I learn something every time. Thank you.
I just love your videos, Natasha! They are full of great ideas.. I am in the process of watching all your videos. Thank you for the time and effort you put into them!! You are my favorite !!💕💕
Love it Natasha. So pretty. I know I have seen a lot of people cover the back of the vellum with alchol ink markers and then spray with alcohol till it all moves around really nicely but I like to do this way also. Lot faster than dealing with markers.
Cutting up those colored sheets of vellum, and make gorgeous flowers: brilliant!! Another idea I definitely want to try out, my list is growing rapidly!!
I love alcohol inks too but I used double sided tape on my vellum to a workmat to stop it curling and just tilted the workmat. Worked great . Love your videos and the way you experiment.
So much loved this card with using different supplies! This is what I live about your videos. Using whatever you have! The Diamond Droplets embossing folder really was a smart idea. It added so much to the background. Thank you for you time & talent. 😊
Hi Natasha, another beautiful card, I know I say it a lot but you do amaze me and thank you for another beautiful card and more creative ideas. I don’t have any alcohol inks yet, I’m slowly getting through my art supply shopping list.
Hi again natasha I just wanted to let you know that I have used hand sanitizer with my inks and water colours and got great results as it has alcohol in it I tried with a pipet and a small brush the results were beatiful and a lot cheaper. I don't know if have tried it but i thought it was worth letting you and your followers know. Love hazel.x.x. keep up with your beautiful work. Thankyou. X.
Stunning card Natasha. My craft space is far too small for me to have alcohol inks to carry but loved this technique, the flowers were beauitful can't wait to see what you make with gold one. Thanks once again for sharing your creativity and videos Natasha 💕
This is stunning! I was just thinking of buying a just a few alcohol inks. I think I will now! Thank you so much for sharing your creativity. Your art is so educational and I find that the techniques you share can be applied in more than just this video. I also LOVE the way you work with what you have. I find that inspirational.
Love love love!! Such a gorgeous card! I’ve been playing with alcohol inks (mainly on vellum and cheap poster board) over the last month and have been having a ball. Some panels work great as a background but I’ve found that ALL panels work perfectly as die cut layered flowers, so I was so excited to see the gorgeous flowers you made! The ‘veins’ that alcohol inks make really make the flowers look realistic and natural. Jennifer McGuire had a video on smooth alcohol inked backgrounds a while back (using strips of felt taped to a protractor) and that’s a super fun technique to use on vellum. Super easy and gorgeous results! TFS! 👍😀
Your finished card is gorgeous! I watched a lady recently who glues layers of scrap together & then cuts it up to use as "foam squares." Great way to use up small paper scraps.
I thought I wouldn’t go for this technique ( mostly cuz I don’t have alcohol inks….yet!) but when I saw the finished card, the gears started turning on how I can make Christmas cards like this!! Thanks again for your inspiration!
Natasha you are amazing love all your videos and I get a lot of inspiration from you. I am watching you from nottingham in the UK. Please keep sending your brilliant ideas. Love from hazel.x thankyou again.x.
I love using my alcohol inks but have not even thought of this process...so cool 😎 I've made my own tools with hockey tools and a variety of other crazy things... kept one for me and have given others away. They were fun to make. Thank you for this video to expand use of alcohol inks.
So pretty! Your timing couldn't be better, I'm trying out a stained glass style die and wanted something just like this, thank you so much. Love that you are as frugal as I am as well. I try to get as much use out of my supplies as I can too.
Very pretty. Try using contact paper, (the sticky back shelf lining paper, in case you call it something else). I usually glue it to a lightweight card stock. I've used the white and the clear frosted type. It's a very economical alternative to yupo, and great for practice.
A neat effect with the alcohol inks on vellum cut the full sheet in half lengthwise; alcohol ink it as you have done in this vid; place double sided tape at one of the narrow ends on the full width then don’t fold the paper but rather make a short cylinder with the vellum and adhere the other narrow end to the other side of the double sided tape…now get a battery operated tea light candle and voila you’ve got a beautiful light 💟
Oh wow...that is a very cool idea! I don't let the kids use alcohol inks, but I bet they would love creating the lights with the vellum pieces I had created earlier (with slightly larger pieces) of course I'm sure a few stickers could be added etc to make them their own! What a wonderful idea 💕
Love, love, love your stunning card. I have some alcohol ink on vellum I made last week, and was going to cut flowers. But I like your idea of stamping first. Can't wait to see what I can do. Thankyou so much for sharing.
Beautiful. I have never tried to use alcohol inks. Looked easy and the results are beautiful. I live in a one bedroom Senior apt. Craft from a tiny tiny kitchen. And craft in my living room. Gets very messy and everyone can see it as soon as they walk in. Lol.
I love the stained glass effect alcohol inks give---just beautiful. I have 2 boxes of photo paper and no photo printer, so I guess it's time to start investing in alcohol inks. I don't want to waste that paper! 😂 Thanks for sharing this beautiful card!
Having FUN is a goal in itself! If it’s not fun, then it becomes dull and boring. I really love this technique. The gold looks like marble. Very pretty backgrounds.
