A320 Base Training - My First Time Flying A Jet

- In this video, I'm going to show you what I got up to on my A320 Base Training.
For the last stage of my type rating on the A320, in this video, I will be showing you my base training. I started my day in Vienna where 4 students were about to complete their base training. We took off from Vienna and flew to Pula airport in Croatia. Once it was my turn to fly, I took off for the very first time in the real A320, flew a visual pattern, and for the first circuit, we practiced a go-around. This was then followed by 5 more visual circuits which all finished with a tough and go, and then finally a full stop landing.
This was one of the best days of my life and a huge milestone for my career.
I hope you all enjoy and remember to leave a like, comment and SUBSCRIBE

Thank you guys for all the support you’ve given this channel so far! Let me know what your dreams are as a pilot, as this day was definitely one of mine! ✈️
Well done bro! Only pilots really understand the amount of work and hardship it takes to get to that stage 👊
Absolutely! Appreciate it
Never fails to impress me how much airline pilots have to go through, and at such a young age. Makes me feel safe in the back ! Well done.
Congratulations! Crazy to see how other countries do their training compared to here in the US. I’ve got about 500 hours to go until my ATP minimums here in the US and it’ll be probably another 2,000-3,000 hours after that before I even get close to flying an A320.
In mexico, low cost airlines hire first officers at just 220 hours
One of the reasons many new pilots go abroad for their "first hours".
It’s awesome to see wholesome content like this and seeing someone chase their dreams. It is bittersweet because while it makes me happy seeing someone else happy and living their best life, it saddens me with regret for not chasing my own dreams. Here is to a long, exciting, fun and safe airline career, sir. Cheers!
The night before you flew your first passenger jet you still had the foresight to film it for RUclips. Most people would have too much going on in their head to worry about it. Well done, and thank you so much for sharing ❤
RUclipsrs like you inspire me to become a pilot when I grow up. Hopefully one day i can be an A350 pilot
you will, I will; we will
It has been so inspiring to follow your journey , welcome to the best career there is! So thrilled for you Oli!
Thank you so much!!
You deserve everything mate you've smashed it. Well done lad 🎉
Thank you 🙌
Smashed it ? Why not say he has done extremely well ? Dumbing down the English language is becoming all too common these days.
Dude this is so inspirational to see. First time I see your videos but I'm very happy for you! Love to see pilots who love their job, makes it safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
Glad you like them!
Super excited for you and congratulations on getting to this stage of your career! Must be an incredible feeling

Living the absolute dream - thank you for sharing with us enjoyed every moment :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I hope to start training soon. Can't imagine what it must feel like to be hands on in an aircraft such as the a320, just in control of such a huge jet for the first time. must have been surreal. Great job Oli!
Congratulations, I will be soon joining the Leadingedge for the ATPL course and hopefully will all go well.
Best of luck! That’s where I did my training
congrats man! and ty for sharing to us
No problem!
Wow this is amazing! Look how far u have come :) im doing my ppl right now at 14, hopefully i can make it to ur stage in the future. Good Luck
I’m sure you will! All the best for your training and see you in the airways in a few years!
14?!??? HOW CAN YOU DO IT AT 14?!?? America is weird
@@BritishAirywaysdudehaha I’m 16 now- still doing it
@@daviation9779 omg really?? I’m 13 and in the uk. Would love some advice if that’s ok?
@@BritishAirywaysdude most flight schools don’t allow lessons at 14, even if they do. I strongly recommend pushing till 15 so u can solo at 16. I had to do 1 lesson a month because of my young age. Additionally, u also have to factor in making time for GCSES but 2 lessons a month at 15 is a good start. Do you have any specific questions?
Hi Oli 100% support you amaxing youve come leaps and bounds amazing continue with your amazing work 😊😊😊😊
Thank you so much 😁
@@PilotOli your really mature how old are you if dont mind me asking ?:) your so brave
Congratulations!! Seeing the later stages of all our dreams. Makes excited for my future as a student pilot as well. Great video
Best of luck!
Great video, i m currently finish my atpl exams, and i can feel what are you emotions, just smiling like you what a success!
Wow. This is phenomenal. You greased those landings. I just finished my CPL as well...this is truy inspirational! Congratulations Pilot Oli.
Thank you so much! Appreciate the compliment about the landings, hopefully many more greasers to come! Good luck with your journey as well
Where is the furthest you flown to and how long have you done a Q and A vid vlog 🦦🇬🇧🛩
Good job if that was your first real landings. Congrats!
Great video maté congratulations

Hahaha sounds good!
I apsolute love watching you , brings back memories of when I did my base training 😅 do you fly for Auda airlines?
Congratulations buddy ! Keep flying high
Godspeed 🕉️
Thanks! Will do!
Did you have to pay for a flight back to Vienna and love the vid I’m 14 years old and I fly around Europe and North America in the a320neo with atc in Microsoft flight simulator and my goal is to become an a320pilot asap and then once I become captain my end goal will be to be the captain of the a380-841
That’s awesome! No we flew the aircraft back so didn’t have to pay anything
Wow that’s cool
Congrats!
Stunning!
Thank you! 😊
So I came across your video, and wanted to say congratulations young man on your achievement so far!! I love planes and I fly in MSFS and absolutely love it, I wish you all the best on your journey flying those big birds!! A new sub here!

Congratulations Oli!!
Thank you!!
Well done congratulations!
Wow, congratulations
well done oli!
Thank you!
that was very interesting, thanks
Nice vid mate. Will you be based here at Stansted?
Good Luck Future Captain 👨✈
Amazing video, huge respect to you!!
Congrats 🥳
Amazing, well done
Your braver than me it must be so scary and nervewracking 😊😊😊😅
I’m doing integrated PPL and CPL training next year, hopefully I’m able to get a loan from the bank!
When your banking in the a320 dp you use the rudder to co ordiante the turn? I'm a boeing pilot so we do but I know the airbus is fly by wire.
As it’s fly by wire, you just need to input what you want to do, so for a turn you would only push the side stick to the side you want to turn, you don’t even need to add back pressure for most standard turns!
@PilotOli that's good clever aircrafts aren't they lol.
Congratulations 🎉... Greetings from Malaysia
Thank you! 😃
@@PilotOli your most welcome... I have follow your Instagram account as well 👍😁
i want to start my training already but i hate being so young i cant do anything , do you hvae any tips on starting out flight training or anything?
Learning a lot from you , thanks for sharing
Well done 👏 😊
very cool, Congratulations!!!!
Thank you!
some people might consider this a stupid question but how did you get the money for flight training (unless sponsored) because ive wanted to be a pilot since 5 (now 16) but dont have the funds going to apply for speedbird pikot academy when im 17 but preparing for plan b in case i dont make the cut, so is there anything i should do? im going to college to study car mechanics and earn money that way too but if theres any idea id be more than happy to hear them, Thanks
Amazing video, Will you be based out of Vienna?
Most likely Stansted, Vienna was just for the base training 👍🏼
so will you live in vienna? awesome video! well done 🎉
Most likely not, it’s just one of the bases of my company
@@PilotOli so do you work for lauda? is that your choice or how did u get there? will it be laudas choice where your based? also how did u fund flight school? thanks 😀
amazing work olli! i would love to get in contact with you to ask you a few questions!
Of course! Feel free to DM me on Instagram
hey oli, i'm about to start my ppl and hope to become an airline pilot one day. Have you got any advice? (And congrats on this btw)
Congratulations! Did you come in low and shallow? I noticed the 50 40 30 callouts were quite slow.
No I didn’t. Trust me they sounded they were coming very quick in the real thing 😂
Congratulations. Hopefully, you are flying with an EASA licence and not dealing with the buffoons at LGW.
How much total time do you have?
On the Airbus, just the 47 minutes from my base training. Total about 170 👍🏼
@@PilotOli that's wild. I'm a CFI/CFII here in the US and have about 400 hours. Can't touch a jet until 1000 😅.
You should come to Europe 😂
@@PilotOli is there no 1500 hour rule in uk and Europe??
@@AviationLover-zw3hu nope.
you flew 1500 hours flight?
Not even close! In Europe you can actually start with a lot less, I have about 170 hours total!
Congratulations
See u in MAD!
Does base training come straight after type rating? Just wondering when all the airline ops training like evacuation etc fits in to the schedule.
It’s actually considered part of the type rating. It is the last requirement to get the type rating.
How much did you pay for all your training? It’s the only thing stopping my following my dreams to be a pilot
Dope
Touch and gos are basically practicing takeoff abd landings without proper landings and take offs
👏
gg my guy
Hey, is your Dad hiring?
You said you're 'Over the moon'.....if you DO find yourself over the moon I guess you pulled back too soon and for too long, added too much power and forgot to check the oxygen levels. Good luck and thanks!
For a first time landing that shit was pure buttttttteeerrrrrr
Definitely bizarre as an American pilot seeing someone doing touch and goes in an empty plane. Not at all how we do it across the pond!
It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience! Hope you enjoyed the video
how do y’all do it then?
@Joshua Penaranda do the whole type rating in the sim then fly it for the first with passengers in the back with a check airmen. Took me about 40 hours and I was signed off good to fly with regular captains
@@Micg51 interesting. a lot more “diving in head first!”
Jesus loves you all😊
NO ONE ASKED
Why is there music playing as he is going down the runway ? Totally pointless music, the same as in most YT videos.
