No idea why I did not chase my dream, the internet wasn't really a thing back then so there was really no advice on anything, shouldn't complain, my engineering career is going very well, but I'm happy you are chasing your dream, regrets are not good for the mind, I am totally jealous!!! 1000's of hours on PMFG and IXEG 737 is good fun, but I always wish I could rewind time. I hate this stupid myth that some Airlines have better pilots than others. The training is the same for every airline and pilot. • @SC-dp1gv
      @SC-dp1gv 8 месяцев назад +1

      No, training is not the same, there different trainings and programs, nor hiring minimums. Ryanair, you get hired with 250 hours of small prop, that’s it, southwest you need at least 1500 hours of which 500 in a fixed wing turbine aircraft but realistically you are competitive only around 3000 hours total time and 1000 hours turbine. No airlines are not all the same

      @@BrianMcCann421 the point that I'm making is that for example aqp training is completely different from a standard initial, so yes we need to show proficiency, how many options we have to reach proficiency and how that proficiency could be reached is completely different. If you have two shots to do a maneuver correctly or if you have almost indefinite attempts to make it makes a huge difference, there are easier trainings than others, and I don't wanna open the can of worms of the so called "just checking boxes trainings"...oh dei hirings and all that shxxt

    I still can clearly remember every minute of my FIRST solo. It's something which can only happen once in a lifetime of course so it's nice to remember it. (Mine was a Cessna 150!) When I was 7 I watched planes take off from Heathrow's Spectator Roof and said, 'One day, I want to do that!' I suppose I partly achieved my childhood dream. Hope to see;hear you onboard one day!

    In 1976, I did my first takeoff in a C150. I think I had the same thrill. Size doesn't really matter. The adrenalin is the same.

    Well done sir! Great and beautiful things may happen during your career. The older 737 is indeed a very reliable beautiful plane. Greetings from the Netherlands.🛫🛬✈
