- I've had my 2014 Shelby GT500 for a little over a year now and I've struggled finding an exhaust that gave the sound I wanted without loosing that supercharger wine. I've had this Borla ATAK cat back system on the car for a few weeks now I I'm pretty happy Sith the range it gives me. Let me know what y'all think!

M-5230-MSVTLB is the part number of those mufflers, I like the stock muffler’s the way they are, but if you’re looking for more sound, these are way better than Borla or Corsa, and they are not legal in California which means they are louder and throatier and they sit absolutely flush with the bumper exactly how the stock ones did, they are a perfect fit but cost around $1400 but in my opinion they are well worth it. If you get those you will never go back to the Borla exhaust, some people will say on certain websites that Borla makes Ford performance mufflers but that is absolutely not true. Sometimes when looking at old Ford performance parts magazines they will have Borla mufflers that are sold at Ford performance but they will specifically state for example Ford performance cat back exhaust by Borla. I just don’t want you to get confused by this
The reason why the 2.3 L TVS supercharger does not whine as much is because it is less restrictive than the 2007 through 2012 GT500 stock blower. You are hearing the whining noise on those cars because the supercharger is very restrictive. The TVS superchargers are less restrictive and therefore you don’t hear them whine that much. The 2.3 L Roush supercharger does not whine at all because the flow is absolutely perfect. I would rather have a better flowing supercharger that does not whine don’t you have a restrictive supercharger that does. Whatever you do absolutely do not get one of those whine mod kits because you will end up getting air leaks and you’re drilling a hole and you’re cold air intake around the mass airflow sensor. You’re just going to have to deal with that no matter what you do if you’re not gonna hear that car whine That much it’s just the nature of the beast. The bottom line is the reason why you hear whining is because there is a restriction and I would rather have a less restrictive supercharger that makes more power I don’t having a restrictive supercharger just because of a whining noise

As others said you need long tubes with catless mids and H or X pipe.

Agree! And the design on those borlas looks like some cheap ass tubes. Terrible looking and sounds too modded if that makes any sense.
I agree.ive got a all stock 14 GT500 just turned 14k miles, when I was younger I liked a loud exhaust,now I'm 50,an I think the stock is about right.
@@davedave2882 same here. My ‘14 is all stock - although it would be fun every now and then, I’m fairly certain I’d be going back to stock sooner or later. And no doubt my wife would not be a fan of louder exhaust. Nice thing about stock is it’s fairly quiet when you want it to be - but loud enough when you get on it.
Nah aftermarket sounds better especially if your car got aftermarket cams!

That new GT500 is not made for drag racing so don’t even try that because there’s a bunch of clutch protection shit inside of that dual clutch transmission. The 2014 is way better because it comes with a manual transmission and you can get that thing to go faster than that new one I wouldn’t even waste your money I know people who have bought that car beat the shit out of it and then resold it
LOVE YOUR SHELBY. I have a 2014 GT500 Race Red with Corsa Performance Sport black tips with x pipe. I think sound of a vehicle is just like colors of the cars .,everyone has their own preference .
I would stay with what makes me happy. it's your car and your money . I love the way the Corsa sounds on my Shelby, just a tad louder than stock at idle, NO DRONE, but at aggressive throttle it has a deep grow. would not change them and I am pleased with them and I am Hard to please.As spoken in other comments I am not a teenager any more (In My 60"s ) so I don't like ear pounding noise. Had several sets of exhaust on Shelbys and GT's in the past , KOOKS (which I love) Roush(which I hate) Ford racing and MagaFlow to name a few . Just keep what you love . Thanks
I personally don’t mind my stock 13 axle backs…never have liked borla tips for the 500. I’d go Corsa Extreme personally.

I have borla Ataks they are the best out of all the mufflers I've had. But ill do you one better. I also had ARH long tubes and H-pipe. Quiet when cruising but step on it and it'll make you smile. Yes they are well it. Expensive yes.

I have the stainless works full exhaust from headers to tips on my 14 GT500. Thing sounds mad as hell from idle to wide open. Definitely not for the softer sounding folks.
Original exhaust gives the best sound for 2013/14 gt500. Original sound over that any day

I had Borla Atak on my 2009 Gt. It is supercharged with kooks long tube headers and kooks catted h pipe. While it sounded really good, way to loud under higher rpm. Kinda attracted every patrol car in a 10 block radius. I just took them off a couple weeks ago. I prefer the sport or touring with long tubes, if your on stock manifolds Atak are perfect.
How much more HP would just the Borla Atak mufflers give? My 2014 Shelby GT 500. Thanks!
About 5-10 HP but if your going to do this delete the resonator and get a xpipe it's restricts alot of HP

I have Borla ATAKS on my 2011 GT. I love them, and I get a lot of compliments on the sound. It's the best exhaust system that I've found for the Coyote by far. It's really easy to make these Coyotes sound awful, and unfortunately a lot of guys put the wrong exhaust on their ride.
Any time I see a 5.0 on the road it’s either stock or modded and running ataks and assaulting my ears.

I have Borla Ataks as well, some people sometimes forget how loud my car is until i step on it. At low rpms its very tame, higher rpms to WOT is very loud depending on the rest of youre exhaust combo.

I have the same Ataks on my GT500. Only difference is LTH headers and X pipe and it turns the car into a angry gorilla!
My 2014 was pulleyed, cai, & tuned when I bought it. Put Borla axle back on it & loved it. I had a cat fail on me so I went all in, Stainless works LTH with high flow cats & pipe. It’s INSANELY LOUD & I love it. Obnoxiously loud when you get up in her ass!!

Anything with Borla Atak is gonna sound mean and worth every Penny. When you rev it, did you smile? Of course. Then it’s all worth it.

First thing I put on my 2011 GT500 was the borla atak. Love it. My husband likes the roush which is on my 2012 GT. Both sound awesome.
2007 through 2012 need axle backs What’s the 2014 sounds best with the factory exhaust and it also looks the best as well because the pipes fit perfectly
