It's been 2 years since I bought my 2014 SVT Shelby GT500. In this video I'm going to tell y'all how it's been. Stay tuned for a 1 year update on the 2021 GT500 next month. Thanks for watching!
I have a 2013 black gt500. It's a great car. I changed out the throttlebody and retuned at a professional shop. Now has about 680hp at the wheels. It's a noticeable amount and not enough to damage the motor. Pulls very hard. I also have a 21 gt500 which is another great machine. Also had about 5 other gt/gt500s pass thru my stable. Loved them all. Good luck.
@@christianbass7244Great cars mine has the usual intake/pulley/tune w/ a catback. It is very fun however mine has no cooling mods so if you plan to do bolt ons I’d say do a heat exchanger/bigger coolant tank & thermostat before.
All so subjective- definitely appreciate your feedback. The PS4’s are perfection for my ‘14 GT500. I switched from a GT350 to the GT500. The 500 is more of a driver’s car (and yes a true muscle car). For those reasons I have way more fun driving the GT500. I frankly got bored with the GT350 - even though it was an incredible car, if that makes sense.
Enjoy your reviews of Shelbys! I own a ‘14 GT500 (Sterling Gray w/matte black stripes, TP/PP). My preferred exhaust setup is American Racing Headers (long tube with H-pipe) and the OEM rear muffler. Deep loud rumble, quiet when cruising, loud when you an accelerate, and no drone at any RPM.
This video and the one right before about the GT350 are the two single most useful videos I've seen on the GTxxx mustangs. So grateful for that. BTW I'm sold on the 2017 GT350 and I can probabky get one for around $50k (which tbh is still pricey for a 7yo car but hey what can I do)
I've a 14 triple black. 8700 miles....never drive it. But when I do it transports me. I'm 60, had Corvette's most of my life, used to the solid axle no big deal, thanks for this.
I agree about the Borla. They always seem to change the sound of Cobras, like you said “second favorite song” lol Btw awesome collection with the red, white, and blue Cobras!
The 13-14 price point bang for the buck blows my mind. Why are they so reasonable?! What a car. Cool vid, love your collection. Just need to get you a little more garage to hide a '93 Cobra somewhere ;)
You can get a 07 GT500 for half of what a 2013 or 2014 GT500 costs and spend some of the $ difference on upgrades. I paid $27K for a low mile 07 GT500. Invest $10K and you can have a really fast car that can hang with a more modern GT500
for the exhaust set up.. the borlas sound good but in my opinion the stock mufflers on the 13-14 gt500 are one of the best sounding especially once you free it up a bit with a catless x-pipe. thats how i have mine and to me it sounds great. ive though about putting some longtube headers in there too but still on the fence about it.
I'll add my endorsement. I ordered my 2013 GT500 new and just passed the 10 year mark of ownership. I kept the stock mufflers because I preferred the sound (love the way the stock tips are cut and fit better than aftermarket too!), and then just added a cat delete.. I think it sounds great that way.
I had a 2013 GTCS I had a procharged Coyote with 3.73 gear and I had long tube headers and Borla S-Type exhaust. The S-Type is a little quieter than the Attack. If you're looking for ultimate lower sound but with a grunt, I would do the Borla with a Touring exhaust.
Damn I remember that day watching your video about the transmission issues and you have a week to decide wether or not keep the car and I want you to keep it because that’s my favorite spec ruby red white stripes. Good thing everything turned out right.
Yo - just hear me on this. They are hard to find... but exhaust... i know exactly what you're looking for. Get the Flowmaster HUSPOWERS - they don't make them anymore --- but you can get them - and then get your quad tips welded on... I'm usually not a Flowmaster guy - but these have reverse perforated cones inside the muffler, its the same design they use on jet engines. They are like the GT500 stock exhaust but a little louder, but no harsh overtones. I like them so much I also put it on my F150. I cut them and welded them onto my truck to fit.
i traded my 2013 GT500 for my 17 GT350.. do i miss the 500 YES ! would i trade back .....? debatable to be honest. I wish i could have kelp them both but in order to do so i would have needed to get rid of my 65 fastback which will not happen haha. keep the videos coming !
I get that I'm so young but being raised around SVT, I found the 2013/14 SVT gt500 was more on the engine side being the top car for horsepower at the time and the supercharger wasn't supposed to be the main thing the 2010/12 was more around the "supercharger"
Yea the Sync 1 is like using Windows 95 where as Sync 2 is Windows 7. Also, have you thought about headers to the stock exhaust? Keeps that tone just adds volume.
I am 5'6" and I own a 2013 GT500. I fit perfectly fine in the car, it feels like it was made for me. It fits a wide range of people of all heights and sizes comfortably.
@@Steve_Milo Thanks for the info and good to know. Never driven a Mustang or any muscle car. Everything seems big in comparison to my brother in laws Elise

The 07 GT500 up to the 2014 GT500 are currently the lowest price to go fast. You can get an 07 GT500 with low miles for about $30K. Those prices won't last long.

When you hear a supercharge whining that means there is an obstruction. A supercharger without the wine is actually flowing better. And anybody who puts a wine mod on their car I think it’s very stupid oh and you could eventually start sucking in on metered air. I would rather have a supercharger that doesn’t want compared to one that does wine because super charger that does not wine has more flow which equals more power and so if you want a car with less power go for the supercharger that wines, if you want less power and more restriction go for the supercharger that whines

Build the suspension, it will take the turns
The paint looks great --- what is your car wash method? Or do you have a detailing company upkeep it?
Just picked up a 2014 GT500 with 28,000. Love it 🐎

I seen your initial video, that car would’ve be sent back immediately. But, hey.. that’s me.
Sounds great! You did a great job with it.
So glad to see this video up after the 350R. I love this shelby and actually been eyeing it these days. Been curious about how yours been
I have the same car down to the color!! Love its rawness. would not trade it for a newer one!!!! Central Louisiana.

Haha, surprised people watched to the very end. That spider was a test 😂
Great video, the black widow was interesting indeed. Here's to another year of safe travels, in all the vehicles. :)

I chose the 2013-2014 MUSTANG SHELBY GT500 SPORT MUFFLER KIT (49 STATE) The Ford Racing ones. I did a few mods as well. LOVE this vehicle best ever!

good video, keep the s197 gt500 content coming.
Been in Cedar Park since 2018 and haven't seen 1 Black Widow. Interesting. Oh, absolutely love that 14 GT500.
Would like to see a back to back comp of both GT500's.
i put longtube headers on mine with the stock axle back and it was perfect for me.
Living my dream!…the excitement about the black widow😂
Have you heard Corsa Extreme. I’m split on those and Borla atak. Interested on your thoughts if you’ve heard both.
Man that’s a sick car!!✌🏻🤙🏻🤘🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸

That spider was nuts at the end. Black widow yikes, but the Shelby’s 👌🏻
If you had to buy one of these and have it as your 2nd car which one would it be?
You've become quite the chad man
Gotta ask, don’t know if you mentioned it in the video, but which red is the GT500. I noticed there are two different ones but I can’t tell by looking

That's the right combo right there if you ask me. Go 60s for the classic muscle, and a GT350 for all else.

That might be the way...
@@TexasRevving you can do a free flowing H-Pipe as well, keep that deeper tone cause most headers are X-Pipe
My 2014 GT500 has a backup camera. It might be aftermarket, though.
Oh lawdy posted again???
My 2014 5.0 mustang came with a 📷
You should get a headers and x pipe and leave the stock exhaust.
Too funny. I also bought a 14 Ruby Red GT500 from Carvana. But mine was returned on day 6. 😅
Is that rapid red?
so ur saying the gt350 even handles and can take on backroads way better than the 14gt500? im sure u can make 14gt500 handle good
Lol just changed my AC compressor on my 11 today😂 It seems these die even on low mileage cars. Mine just hit 50k.
