    In this video, I compare my 2014 SVT Shelby Mustang GT500 with my 2021 Shelby Mustang GT500. I also take them both for a drive and talk about the massive differences between these two generations that share the same nameplate. In summary, the SVT is more "muscle" while the newer Ford Performance is more "super" car. Both are amazing in their own right. Which would you pick?

    The 13-14 GT500 all the way because it's really rare plus it's considered the last proper rear axle mustang made by Ford as well it's the last collaboration with Carroll Shelby before he passed away. Top speed is 200mph, also really affordable as well as a dream car for many including myself when it comes to old school mustangs.

    Both GT500s are special, Mustangs, The 2021 GT500 is a more refined and better overall car and as you stated. The Mustang has grown from being a muscle car to becoming a Sports Car which became more obvious after watching the first year Dark Horse Mustang GT3 competing against the world's best sports cars from Porsche, McClaren , Aston Martin, BMW, Lamborghini and the C8 GT3 like at the recent 24 hours of LeMans. .Your a lucky man owning those two beautiful Mustangs.

    I have owned a 2011 convertible GT500 and sold it for a 2014 convertible GT500. I have owned it for 8 years and I drive it in the summer as much as I can. It has mild mods so it is now 775 hp instead of 662. I drag race and do track days with the car. It is a monster that does everything well but not perfectly. On a track day, it is as you say a cowboy ride because of the torque over 700 pounds! But although handling can bite you, it tracks real well and it not true it does not handle, it can do 1G in the corners! Faster than many cars on the track! It is an addictive car to drive and I will never sell it! Would love to try the last gen though…

    You can say what you want about the 13-14's, but they're still true to form. The S550 GT500 strayed so far from the formula with the DCT and it's been divisive. Meanwhile, the Trinity cars are pretty universally accepted.

    • @midnight347
      @midnight347 6 месяцев назад

      They should have kept it manual only. The dct is overly complicated and drives the price of the car WAY up. It literally costs like 25k which is stupid. Yea it performs good but if you're a good driver like myself there isn't enough of a performance gain to warrant 25k vs 4k for a t56 magnum for example. It's just stupid. They tried to get overly fancy with it and it drove up cost significantly and made it less fun to drive.

    I respect the performance of the 2020 GT500, but the overall styling and especially the front bumper has always looked goofy to me. It looks like one of those cheap eBay bumpers people put on as an “upgrade” but always ends up looking tacky, and I can’t unsee it lol. The 13/14 is absolute perfection and looks great from every angle. Just wish they had slightly wider hips but that front end might just be one of the most aggressive looks of any cars that I can’t think of.

    Good review for street use. If you ever decide to take the cars to the drag strip with slicks, you will find out real quick that the live axle is much, MUCH stronger than the IRS. It will not only hook better, but you won't leave a trail of parts behind like the newer car when the IRS grenades from the traction.

The GT500 is a bit quicker in straight line and has a huge Topspeed (German Autobahn 😎👍🏻) but you can't compare a real Sportscar to a Power GT. I watched a video recently on the 2014 GT500. It takes a minute or two but it will do 197 for sure. All depends on the ambient temps.

    13/14 had a very non-muscular shape to the front and rear that I really don’t like. It looks very narrow feeding down to narrow tires. The wide body “kit” fixes this. Not a very dramatic style to the body which is unfortunate because the motor is incredible.

    51% of all Mustang owners chew tobacco and 78% of Corvette owners have gray hair. That's all I know.

      That's exactly what I said when I couldn't afford one. I sold my Vette when I was about 30 .... I'll never sell my 2014 Shelby. I encourage you to take a drive in one if you know someone that has one. You will feel different if he 'Really' drives it or has some of the upgrades that are common. If you do, bring an empty Mcdonald's bag to puke in & some Tums.

      @@williampavlack9339 I almost bought a 2014 GT 500 a couple months ago. I bought a 2024 GT Premium performance pack with mag ride instead. I found out the car has more GT 350 and GT 500 parts than S550 GT parts. I've already done a ton of mods and the car will basically be a GT 500 when I am done. I'm still qmazed at how good it sounds and how well it drives despite it's weight. I used to hate Mustangs but since the IRS and 4 valve came to be, I have a totally different opinion. I chose the car over a Shelby GT 500 or C7 Z06 bc I wanted something new. I love how raw the car is while having all the new tech.

    I just got my 2017 GT 8 months ago it's mainly a weekend car for me.. She only had 1 other owner n only 8,909 miles when I bought her.. ruclips.net/video/GEJINM-16Pk/видео.html I know it's a GT but I love this car.. I went with the manual for the fun.. I have no regrets at all mine came Base with a Performance Pack, 373's, struts braces' beefier sway bars and I'm on a staggered set up, with 275's on the back and 255's up front.. I plan to keep her as stock as I can stand for now and in a few years she is getting Whippled and a stage 1 tune.. I'm not looking for 800 wheel.. But if I can get to 680ish on 93 pump gas and have the car run like it came from Ford that way, meaning smooth.. I'm willing to sacrifice power to stay on 93 and keep the car from blowing up in 2 or 5 years even.. They closed down a track we had so there's no where to put 700 plus wheel down at without getting into trouble really.. Unless you have a track near by where are you going to need more than 650 wheel at that's a lot of power even these days..
