Not a lot of people bring the GT350 and SVT GT500 (2013/14) into the same conversation. Mostly because they're two different eras and two different models. However, in this current market both of them sell for just about the same price. So I thought it'd interesting to compare the two since I'm fortunate enough to own em' both. This is SVT vs. Ford Performance, two completely different generations with different driving behaviors. And both are incredible value! Which one would you take?

Same thoughts two years later? I've got a 2013 GT500 and considering a 2017 GT350. I love with the GT500 and would never sell it. May just settle for a 2022 Mustang GT as an alternative to the 2017 GT350.
I’ve wanted a 13-14 GT 500 since they hit the market. Oddly enough, when I was ready to buy another car, I went with a 16 GT (performance pack). The S 550 is just a better platform. I figured I’d just add boost later on.
I actually am looking into both of these. Idk which one I want more. I love both a lot. So this video will actually help me ( I haven’t watched the full video yet)
Looks out dated? Just say you aren’t a car person… S197 is absolutely timeless, hints why the price still hasn’t gone down and is only going up, unlike the s550
@@newfie-dean5803 it was made by svt and developed by them with a little bit of shelbys inputs here and there. It's not really called an svt gt500 it's a Shelby gt500 that was made by svt. I know this because i have a 2016 fiesta st and in the factory handbook it tells the story about how svt and team rs came together to create Ford performance which is their worldwide performance decision within Ford. My 16 was the first year after they switched in 2015 so it tells about it in the supplemental handbook that comes with the sts not sure if any of the newer ones after 16 have it in there or not.
Hey Chris we have the same last name LOL. I've currently got a 14 GT500 Track Pack white with the dark blue racing stripes. Depending on what you're wanting to do with the car in my opinion the value of the 11 and 12 will be worth more than the 15 and up in the future. Not only are you looking at more horsepower you get that awesome supercharger whine. + 15 and up is more of a European body style you're 14 and lower are your last true muscle cars.
Great video, I agree with what you said. I prefer the 500, I bought a new 2019 350, sold it and found 2014 500. For me and my taste I like the 500 more. But I want to say I really liked the 350, and wish I could have both.
The GT350 looks so sexy - especially the front, if I were to get a performance RWD car this would be one of the options I consider. In Forza Motorsport 7 game, I have this car in my collection......all tuned to the max
Hey man- love your videos and collection. Im really struggling to choose btw these two cars and this video helps- but if you had to get rid of one TODAY what would you do? I grew up with fox bodies and am familiar with solid rears and low end torque but the 350 looks a bit better to me. Are you still a tad more fond of the 350? I really want to daily drive it in the summer if that makes a difference
You and me are in the same boat. I was looking into the 13-14 GT500s than randomly seen the GT350s in the same price range. I love both cars for different reasons but is having a hard time choosing one. I currently have a 2015 GT and want one of those as my weekend/grocery getter lol
I'm currently considering a 2007 GT500 with only 3K miles. Honestly, I prefer the more retro styling over the newer body styles. Although I wont be doing tracks and rarely pushing the car to its limits - am I giving up too much performance or enhancements if I go with the older (2007) Gen GT500? ALSO, after seeing so many clips of owners losing control of their solid rear-end Mustangs - and the fact that my wife might occasionally want to drive it - should I consider the apparently more stable handling of a GT350? All advice welcome!

The car really is perfect in every way except for the factory tire size. I’m hoping i can get a GT350 in the next 1-2 years though as i just drove one at a track event a few weeks ago. They are a blast.
These are my two favorite cars of all time. I want to be able to experience the feeling of owning and daily driving each of these so bad. I will forever get a dump of dopamine from the exhaust of the gt350 but I hope that gasoline is still viable by the time I can afford them
That's the incorrect weight for your GT500. If you have the SVT Performance Package, Ford rates it at 3,780 lbs. Anyways... It's amazing how well you can see the lineage between the two Shelbys. I have a '17 GT350R and an '11 GT500, and I've never really noticed the continued design language, even though they're parked side by side everyday.

I am now confused between both! I have to choose between 2014 GT500 and 2017 GT350! Both have same mileage, the GT500 has some modifications, but the 350 is stock and still under warranty! Please advise as I am in love with both
Which one u bought?
1:18 that pose though
Straight roads are for fast cars, curved roads are for fast drivers. Ive taken my GT350 to Lagua Seca, Sonoma, Spring Mountain, Big Willow, and countless canyons runs....loved every second of it.
Um NO TX2k and the state of Texas disagree ; thee only people who clown straight line races are broke people ..
My c7z06 is awesome in curves but curves are boring in a car (gsx -r 1000 owner )
With a pathetic 760 rwhp set up it still feels good honestly and I beat plenty of cars so imagine 1,000rwhp plus
I had my 2017 GT350 along with my 2013 GT500 and I felt the GT350, when not on track was pretty much all bark and no bite. I ended up selling the GT350 and the 2013 GT500 remains in the stable to this day.
I could never agree with this haha. No bite? The GT350 is one of the most well rounded sports car ever!
@@TexasRevving I agree with Venemous Garage. I owned a GT350 from new for 3 years and, as great as it is in terms of handling - unless I was revving high, it got a little boring. I then picked up a super low miles showroom new ‘14 GT500. I find it to be way more fun and more exciting than the GT350. I’ve owned a lot of cars - but this one will stay with me for a long time.
@@owenwu6047 I understand. Yes the Voodoo is super unique, and fun when you first get it. But after a while you find that unless you’re mashing the pedal, there’s just not much happening. It’s super easy to drive and almost too well behaved, even at full throttle. On the other hand the GT500 requires more input, and is just more fun around town. For me anyway.
Same thoughts two years later? I've got a 2013 GT500 and considering a 2017 GT350. I love with the GT500 and would never sell it. May just settle for a 2022 Mustang GT as an alternative to the 2017 GT350.
2013/14 looks like a true Mustang Shelby.
2015 onwards look like a Nissan GTR.
2005-2014 truly embodied the real Mustang Muscle car look from 1964-73.
I’ve wanted a 13-14 GT 500 since they hit the market. Oddly enough, when I was ready to buy another car, I went with a 16 GT (performance pack). The S 550 is just a better platform. I figured I’d just add boost later on.
I respect what the newer stangs bring to the table but if i could have 1 more in the stable next to my 03 it would be a 13-14 gt500.
I actually am looking into both of these. Idk which one I want more. I love both a lot. So this video will actually help me ( I haven’t watched the full video yet)

The reaction alone says alot about which one is best for you!
The GT350 makes the svt look out dated and the 350 sounds amazing!
Why are you guys calling it a SVT GT500? It’s a Shelby GT500. It was never called a SVT GT500.
The gt350 was also made by Ford performance (which used to be svt and svt and team rs in Europe combined to create Ford performance so it's essentially the newer version of the same thing).
I know this because i have a 2016 fiesta st and in the factory handbook it tells the story about how svt and team rs came together to create Ford performance which is their worldwide performance decision within Ford. My 16 was the first year after they switched in 2015 so it tells about it in the supplemental handbook that comes with the sts not sure if any of the newer ones after 16 have it in there or not.
so funny thing is...I am cross shopping these two cars. I'm also considering a '11-'12 SVT GT-500 as well.
Oh awesome, well definitely no wrong choice here!
Great video Broski!
Great video, I agree with what you said. I prefer the 500, I bought a new 2019 350, sold it and found 2014 500. For me and my taste I like the 500 more. But I want to say
I really liked the 350, and wish I could have both.
My goal is to get a wide body 14’ gt500
Great video as always 👍❤️
I very very love your whistle my future GT500 (2013) just cant help❤️
Love them both - but l think I would pick the GT350
The GT350 looks so sexy - especially the front, if I were to get a performance RWD car this would be one of the options I consider. In Forza Motorsport 7 game, I have this car in my collection......all tuned to the max
Does the 2014 gt500 have a center console compartment behind the cup holders? Thanks
Awesome content!
Either is fantastic but if we're talking about these two my eyes is on the 350.
Excellent review. Where did you get that carbon dash for your GT350?
CJ Pony or something like that
Thx for this video. I'm definitely torn between both cars. I guess I won't know until I test drive them both.
I know this comment is old but I don’t blame you , coming from an ex owner of both a 2009 and 2013 there are plenty of people that feel the same way PLus you can save money 💴
Love this video as I’m thinking about upgrading my 14 GT CS to one of these.
Love the video man and thank you!
I just bought a 2016 gt350 yesterday and loving it so far. The power but also the drivability and normal street friendly. Beautiful machine, still dont think has completely set in my mind i own a shelby gt350. Traded in my 1999 svt cobra for it. Love them both but this car......
Thanks for this!
No questions I would take the 14 GT 500. Last solid axle muscle car ever.
The combo I want 😭
I have been fortunate to own quite a few fun cars. Each one is special to me. My 14 GT500 is probably my favorite and its pretty much stock. The car really is perfect in every way except for the factory tire size. I’m hoping i can get a GT350 in the next 1-2 years though as i just drove one at a track event a few weeks ago. They are a blast.
Glad you hear you’re enjoying yours!
i love all Shelby and Mustang
Can we lift the air suspensions on the ford mustang like it’s too low on the ground
Gt500 looks better. The aggressive style well hold forever.
I think the car to have will be the GT350R I feel they will just keep on going up in value
These are my two favorite cars of all time. I want to be able to experience the feeling of owning and daily driving each of these so bad. I will forever get a dump of dopamine from the exhaust of the gt350 but I hope that gasoline is still viable by the time I can afford them
You'll get em' man!
I genuinely think I'm going to end up with both.
@@citizenchris099 they are the best of both worlds honestly.
The blower whine makes the gt500. That factor alone would sell me on the 500
Good comparison- thanks
Hey I came from your video with the how to make a pov drive with GoPro I was wondering is it a way i can record on my phone for the pov and have the GoPro outside and later on sync the auto up to match?
Man I thought i recognized you lol its Texas Plinking!
Great video and which of these cars is more comfortable or less punishing on bad roads?
gt350
needed this
Seen a few GT350 that I'd get but im not bout to pay 60k for a used car
Honestly I have no idea if I want a gt500 or gt350. I just paid off my boss and I want to have a Boss , GT350 and GT500 in my garage eventually ,just not sure which to get next.
Nice footage, what camera you were using in this video?
DJI Mavic Pro II and Sony A7Sii
Finally I fair comparison
Great video, thanks! :) That supercharger whine is nice! I'm not far from Austin (New Braunfels), let me know when you want to throw a ZL1 into the mix, haha :D
My friend has a 2019 zl1 track package I drove it a couple of times wow amazing and that’s coming from a gt350 owner but give respect to gm for that zl1 track package
@@ernestogeorge4473 yeah man they really did a great job.. sadly there won't be any more in a few years 😢 the regular zl1 was what I wanted as I didn't want the big wannnggg and wanted to keep the adjustable mag ride, lol... Plus I don't track it and am not good enough of a driver to get that extra 2% track times from the 1le anyways even if I did haha. Sad to see the 350 went away for the mach 1 as well!
@@D3RPZILLA I’m a Shelby guy but man respect to zl1 a great American car don’t get rid of the car.
@@ernestogeorge4473 ooo, no, I'm def not getting rid of the car.. plan to keep mine forever haha. Was saying more like if he wanted to do a vid I could bring mine up since it looks like he's about 30 min or 45 min out only haha.
@@D3RPZILLA I really hope he does to compare both cars. Both great cars but man that power that zl1 makes hands down amazing lol after I drove my friend car my car felt really slow lol 😂
Where did you get carbon fiber ?
Never thought I’d get into mustangs, personally hate Ford & I’m more into Japanese, buh here I am now dreaming of getting a Shelby GT500 one day 😮💨
Great video man! I was actually looking at both of these but for the reasons you mentioned, I chose the 350. Also, where did you get the CF Instrument panel for the 350?
Would want both but need a bigger garage of course.
“That’s what she said” had me 😅
Am I crazy are you also the one with the shooting channel?
I have a 2011 gt500 built cammed full bolt ons and swapped the blower from a 13/14...and a 2016 gt350....I'd say gt350 is better for comfort and spirited driving but it feels slow compared to the gt500
The redone monster killer look
I have chosen...correcty. while i like the GT350, I love my gt500. Completely redid the exhaust, I take, suspension, cooling, rear gears and shifter...I made mine to have best of both worlds in one car... All a matter of what you want...but damn to be able to have both. Now that's awesome.
beard looks good bro
They both stock?
Shelby S197 🤘🏼🔥
Old is gold
GT350 owns all (or most)
Boosted GT350 is where it’s at
That sounds like a dream but I don’t have the balls lol
@@TexasRevving man I’m telling you, you won’t regret it. I’m at 918whp with a whipple 2.9. It’s the most insane thing ever
Sweet rides
