- In this video I'm comparing my 2017 Shelby Mustang GT350 and my 2021 Shelby Mustang GT500. Both are the S550 chassis but, they are just so different from each other that owning both has been an absolute dream come true. So differ in fact, that I'll try illustrating that in this video by talking about them and taking them for a drive. Which one is right for you?

I'm loving my 2019 GT350. Just the right amount of tech, manual transmission, fantastic looks, sublime sound, and decent speed.
Voodoo rattle the dash out of it yet?
@@BC08 No. Are you warning me of something? If so, what?
Same here!
@@MS-1994he’s just messing with you
Love the blue on the GT350. Outside of that I would choose the GT500. The cold start on the GT500 is the best sound that I ever heard coming from a car. The GT350 feels more like a sports car and the GT500 more like a muscle car. One can't go wrong with either vehicle. Some people are lucky enough to own both. 😀
N/a and manual is the chefs kiss . Than add a flat plane crank and wow, something magical !!!!!
Less than a minute in and I already know that I want the gt350
That sound from the GT350 ♥
I hope you get the GTD, I'd love to see your thoughts on it. I'm happy with my GT350, but the GTD looks like a next level GT350/500 hybrid.
Good video and I definitely agree with your assessment on both cars. This is why you need both. I hope that you get the GTD. That’s also another amazing car‼️‼️
Cheers 👍👊💪😎🇺🇸
I love my Gen 2 GT.. I found a 17 PP1 manual with 8,909 miles with only 1 other owner.. It's been like buying a brand new car.. I just hit 12,200 miles on her still.. It's been a blast....
Sick video Brandon!
Thank you!
Great video & comparison, wondering if you remember where you got the carbon fiber dash for the 350?
I'm genuinely curious how you have all this money, not being a smart aleck, but man if this is from RUclips...I'm definitely going to step up my game. Love your videos, very helpful.
Not from RUclips brother
There's nothing like rowing your own gears though, for real..
Hope you can compare a Tremec Equipped Mach 1 to GT350
11:42 I thought I was crazy when I noticed this on the GT500, but whenever you walk to close to the rear of the GT500 (while off) the valves open or close LOL
No way we r getting another so soon 😅
the right for me is the Shelby GT500 from 2014
500: More power and overall superior performance
350: Better feel and more satisfying as a driver's car
The only thing about the GT350 that’s more satisfying as a drivers car is the manual transmission.
Voodoo is hunk of crap
V8s should all be 90 degree cross plane
@@BC08
That's just incorrect
@@rhatala27 It’s absolutely correct despite not being the popular take.
Fight me
@@BC08
Saying fight me on the Internet like that makes you tough.
The 350 is a lighter car and the inputs are more direct as a result. I also personally think the high revving FPC Voodoo sounds better
@@rhatala27 No 🤡, I’m saying prove me wrong.
Let’s get technical
You’re saying “that’s just incorrect”, how am I incorrect?
The GT350 is nearly 3800 lbs - while the weight has some impact on steering feel and balance it is simply the lesser overall package.
Put a DCT in the GT350 and nobody will be talking about it being an analog “drivers car” anymore.
The Voodoo is a hunk a crap - it’s a fundamentally compromised design that offers zero tangible benefits over a cross-plane engine.
It DOES offer many very tangible disadvantages though.
I really wanted a gt350r but when I looked into them I couldn’t believe how easily the engines break, the second gens voodoos are better but still have issue. I need the peace of mind of the engine being reliable. That car would give me anxiety every time I would redline it
Redlining has nothing to do with it. It's made to rev high like that. The issues were with oil consumption and those were corrected in Gen 2.
@@rhatala27 no the issue with these motors is to much vibration, that’s why they scraped the voodoo all together. Gen 2 are better but are blowing just as frequently, amazing experience just not reliable enough for pockets
@@MindyLou Mmmm, from the cases I've heard of it is oil consumption issues. Routine oil changes and routine peeks at the dip stick and you're all good. There's plenty of these that have 50k + miles that live on the track with no issues.
@@MindyLou
That just isn't true. Yes they vibrate, but they absolutely do not die at the same rate, and in fact are quite reliable, even if the upkeep is more expensive. The statistics simply don't support that claim
@@rhatala27 I literally heard this from the engineers. Yes the oil consumption is a issue, but vibration is such a issue that literally can causes the headers to crack. If you own one of these vehicles, you can just speak to guys at ford performance they’ll gladly speak to you. There’s also a good video on RUclips where this guy interviews the engineer that made the predator motor I believe he was speaking about what they changed on the raptor r predator engine, and he also talks about why they walked away from the voodoo. Trust I think the gt350 is still amazing, I’d just be scared to own it without a warranty. Hope I didn’t offend anyone with my comments. I really do love these cars and obviously they’ll both go down as some of the best fords ever made for sure
Which ever one the bank or financial institution is willing to finance!😂😂😂
Money. Money is right for me.
Okay
OMG I am the same way about analog gages!!! I can't stand the over the top Tech.. Has anyone ever seen a video of these guy's with their 24's spending 15 minutes trying to get their dash straight and the center console Ipad to catch up.. It's like s sick joke..
Can't do math on the fly😢 you rock.. literally
Okay
