Two more Disney adults here. For anyone that loved the old Disney but hates the stress, nickel and diming, and reservations needed at today's Disney parks try Disney Cruise Line.
My wife and I started cruising DCL after our kids grew up, best idea ever and well worth the $ for an actual VACATION.
Do I feel a little silly talking to and taking pictures with characters?
Yes...but silly keeps us young and fun at heart!
Take the kiddo's to the parks, take your partner to the cruiseline.

Probable fairly accurate results for all mentioned. The only thing I would add is in our experience NCL either leads in a couple of other categories or comes in a close second. We find NCL to be the best overall when you consider all things offered on a cruise.

Now my son has turned 18, we have ditched RCL and are doing Virgin this Jan (Australia) as a family. We’ve also booked Viking for 2025 from London to Northern Europe - bucket list trip as I’ve never been to the UK or Europe. We did our last RCL beginning 2023 and it so crowded, it just wasn’t enjoyable. I’m looking forward to Virgin

Nothing has surpassed the Celebrity Edge class for my partner and me. It feels like being on a mega luxury yacht rather than a giant cruise ship. While I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for families, it's an unparalleled experience for two adults seeking a luxurious getaway. Every cruise we've taken since our voyage on the Edge has felt like a letdown, and we eagerly anticipate our next journey on this class of ship. The cabins are absolutely breathtaking, (INFINITE BALCONY!!) the cuisine is exceptional, and even though we had a fantastic time on our last cruise with Virgin, Edge Class remains our top choice.

Once you cut through all that, and actually get on board-NCL is above and beyond the competition in regards to food and entertainment. No comparison to RCI. Or Princess. Entertainment? I will say, as wonderful as Disney is, if you are not well-versed in Disney Ness, you will find the entertainment, trivia, everything is over your head.
Yes, there are adult only spaces but everything on that ship is Disney centric. If you were looking for a well-crafted experience, there are plenty of other ships. If you are not a fan of Disney, with at least entry-level knowledge, this entire experience will be lost on you, over your head.
Gary Bembridge did a really good video on this. While he enjoyed his experience, he found that he knew nothing about Disney so he didn’t get most of the presentations, however, beautiful and talented. The onboard experience is. Plus, if you’re not into kids, don’t do it.

I’ve lost confidence in NCL. The stories of them cancelling people’s cruises for adding something to their cart after final payment, booking parents and children on different flights to different cities, and the recent story where they told the family to fly day of after they called questioning it and then even refused to let them join their trip for the land portion at the end of the Alaska trip. I feel like if you book with NCL you’re at risk of losing your vacation and money so I don’t really care how good the food is getting.

The only cruise we have been on was Viking and we weren't that taken with it. We aren't sure how much of it was the line and how much was that cruising might not be our favorite form of travel.
We liked that Viking sailed farther north in Alaska than the other cruise lines we looked at. Our favorite part turned out to be up there and were glad we had paid for a land extension there. Viking's crew is very personable and pleasant. We had a balcony and enjoyed being outside and so immersed in the scenery. A big disappointment to us was that Viking brags that they don't nickle and dime you on board. True, but when you go on their very expensive extra tours, operators are free to push merchandise at you. We were really looking forward to spending our evenings listening to music. The piano player was excellent but the other musicians were very amateur, the cellist and viola player acted like they hated each other. The food wasn't exceptional in presentation and items to us. When we reached the southern most cities in Alaska, port time was short and if you hadn't signed up for one of the paid tours, your choice was to walk around in the tourist area by the ship because their wasn't time to get to any of the outlaying interesting places on your own. After hearing that all ships are decorated the same, I doubt we will choose Viking if we go on another cruise because part of the fun of a new place to us is exploring it .

Well if it is on the Internet, it has to be true.....So real luxury cruise lines don't count like Viking Ocean, Silverseas, Oceania, Regent, Seabourn, Cunard....Service, food and luxury blows away those mass market lines.

    • @MrToryhere
      @MrToryhere 11 месяцев назад +1

The price point of the luxury lines is probably prohibitive for most people. And the experience on such vessels is not typical of what most people would see as “cruising”. My favourite line has two small yachts. The number of passengers each yacht carries in a year would probably not be as many as the number of people who travel on one voyage on the biggest cruise ship mentioned in this video. People who favour the small luxury ships don’t need to come to a channel like this to find out how good those ships are.

Viking by a mile. Yes they cost a little more but to be treated so well all the while not being nickeled and dimed for anything extra is wonderful. The crews are the best in the business and the ships are best in class. In the long run after not needing all this “extra” that is the gotcha part of the low class lines you can have a much more enjoyable cruise for the same or only a little more money. Big plus NO KIDS 😊

When cruising here is what you need you need to avoid when selecting a cruise line.
    # 1 If they have more drink packages than you have fingers dump them. A f’ing soda package, get the hell out of town.
    # 2 A casino onboard. With the odds on a cruise line you would better off just walking down a dark alleyway in the bad part of town then throwing your money away in a cruise line’s casino
    # 3 if you want a crowded shopping mall just wait and visit your local mall during the holidays. No I don’t want some overpriced photo package snd no I don’t want a cheap souvenir.
    # 4 Mega Ships = Mega Problems. Overwhelming beautiful locations with tons and tons of folks who dress like they are at Wal Mart at 2 am.
    # 5. Oh cool a go cart track that cost more than the one at the mini golf com0ax and is smaller and slower.
    # 6 Carnival. A floating frat party. Keep it on campus you jerks
Simply put, the Wal Mart cruise lines have pretty much destroyed the whole industry with their cheap fares that really don’t get you anything of value and during your whole cruise they just try to separate you from your money.
If a ship is over 1,000 passengers just pass it up because your service will be crap and once you get over being at sea you will realize the food a the local mall food court is better
