I've got a few tips. Since cabins are often not ready when you board, check all luggage, so you don't have to lug it around with you, but keep a small bag or purse with sunscreen and pain meds ,breath mints, a hairbrush and and anything else you need to spruce up. Wear comfy shoes since you may be waiting in long lines. Also, wear your swimsuit under your clothing or with a nice coverup so you can hit the pool right away.
We tried all the seasickness remedies, and agree that Bonine is the best. But, it is a brand name, and is not available in all places. The generic version is Meclizine HCl, normal dose is 25 mg. We have been able to buy it as a different brand by reading the ingredients. It is funny that those who want to avoid the motion of the ocean should book a cabin lower down in the ship, because those are the “cheap seats.” A fun way to describe this is “the more you pay, the more you sway!”
This is great. We're going on out 1st ever cruise in November with Virgin & a little overwhelmed about what to do (or not) so this has been very helpful. Thank you 😊
Absolutely Perfect As Usual Ben, I Loved It ❤ All Of the tips are so helpful and refreshed my mind with the things I had forgotten. Thank you so much 😊
$ saving hack. Take advantage of your 2 bottles of wine allowed, and bring a corkscrew. Ask any bar, or your cabin steward for wine glasses, open, pour in your room. Then carry your wine to wherever you're going. This saves buying wine with dinner at $12 a glass, and the corkage fee at $25+ a bottle. You'll also impress people, who will as how in the world you got such a generous pour.
I basically drink water. No alcohol, neither juice. It’s not worth a package. My husband enjoys a glass of wine at dinner now and then. I’m glad to know u cab take 2 bottles of wine 🍷 . Thx for the tip
I never get tired of Ben and David videos. I will keep watching this channel, just I hope this doesn’t mean less of the main channel!!! I never get tired of seeing you two cruise.
To save money with a family with 4 to 5, instead of book a balcony, book balcony 2 people and inside 2 to 3 people. It saved about $1000 for my fiture cruise..
Maybe I’m different (which is fine!) but I actually like to board around the end of boarding time. I hate not being able to go to my room and have to wait hours for it to open up and be cramped with everyone at the buffet since no one can get to their rooms
I'm glad I found you !! Next month is my first ever cruise, kind of anxious lol but I almost got all your tips all set. THANK YOU for the iron and steam I brought one lol. Luckily, I will leave it behind after this video
I'm very happy to see another channel. I feel like because you guys travel so much you should start reviewing airlines and hotels as well. Or do a series on travel hacks in general.
I have real trouble with being sea sick. I buy Meclizine in a drug store when I get to the USA . I take one every morning and before I go to sleep. Prevention has saved me many times. It is effective when going on those hilly bus trips too.
We've only been on two cruises and my doctor prescribes Scopolamine patches for us. We've never had sea sickness even on rough sea. Well, except my husband getting hammered at Isla Pasion the day before we were at sea and had some rough-ish waters. 🤣 Also, the two Norwegian ships we've been on didn't have under bed storage so our sofa in our balcony room was where we had our check bags where our clothes were located. Also, people still iron their clothes? 😂😂😂 We also took a large surge protector in our check bags and didn't have any problems. We just unplugged it any time we left our room. Thankfully they didn't charge us for electricity. Haven rooms get elevator priority which I can't wait for after we booked our next cruise in a Haven room.
A cruise and holiday insurance tip, ours is covered by our banks current account, (even for multiple trips) which costs us £13 per month and includes phone insurance and car breakdown cover.
Great helpful video. My wife and I loved you and David's video of the prima (we're going on that boat in April) ..."Nicholas Cages failing career!" Lol
Thank your for this new channel. I love watching your vlogs but I always like watching tips and tricks! My husband and I are finally getting to do our first cruise since Covid the end of February. We are so very excited!
I love watching your videos on cruising, from room tours, shop tours, food, and entertainment. Looking forward to your new channel and all your tips and travel hacks....especially when planning my first cruise
Hey guys, long time viewer on your other channel. Well done on your new installment. I must admit of your top 12, you covered 90%, of my top list. Hoping you can maintain the tips going forward. No pressure!?!? 👍😂😉
Ben was right to mention that aspect, as quite a number of other cruise lines sting you by charging you silly amounts for a bog-standard coffee. Why should I be expected to contribute to an additional 90%+ gross profit per cup? Those are rip-off figures in anyone's language! BTW, I'm a coffee wholesaler.
Congratulations on the new channel!! I am super excited!! First time cruiser and would love as many tips as possible!! Will you be doing tips for all cruise lines?
it's funny too me how people think cruise cabins are tiny. having been to japanese hotels, i gotta say cruise cabins are large in comparison, their bathrooms are well. much bigger. in japanese hotels i could barely dry myself and i'm only 180cm 70kg.
Thank you! I'm hoping to cruise at the end of year and get a kick out of your vlogs. As someone else "more Ben and David". You guys are so entertaining!
Loved this vlog. Here in Australia we still have to do a covid test 24 hours before boarding and have to wear a mask. Will be glad when we get to be the same as the rest of the world. Look forward to your next epsiode
It's not a cruise hack to not buy a drinks package if you're an adult who wants to drink. Drinks are like $12-$20 a pop. Getting a drink package saves you, exponentially.
Drinks packages are often in excess of $100 per person per day. If you can drink around 10 drinks a day (mix of beer, wine and cocktails) every single day go for it. Or if like us you drink 3/4 drinks most days then say 5/6 drinks a few days(especially with the cocktail of the day which is usually half price) it’s considerably cheaper. It’s one of the easiest ways to save money on a cruise.
About Barbados, my cruise is leaving from there next month but l thought last year September they dropped everything you don't need any covid testing or anything. When did this change again?
When did YOU go to Barbados? We just returned from a cruise that left from the Barbados on December 18. There is no vaccine requirement and there was no testing requirement. You should update this video with the current information.
We've saved over $4k by NOT buying cruise insurance ever. And we don't even cruise more than once per year. If the cruise is delayed or canceled your covered without insurance anyway. To people with big families or health issues it might be a good idea, but for most it's a total waste.
When it comes to travel insurance I've been using Travel Safe because they offer a Cancel For ANy Reason Policy. But I did not specifically ask if they have "cruise cover". Do I need to ask them? It's a little late now as I've already paid for two different policies. Not sure where to even find that in our policy. When I bought the policy with them I specified verbally it was for a cruise. thanks
@@InsideCruise Ha! Ha! The one insurance company I wouldn't use! I claimed for loss of luggage returning from a holiday, but was told by Stay Sure they only paid out for loss of luggage going TO your destination - as you'd have clothes back home!!!
We are booking a cruise in Miami,Florida. Looking for hotel for One night before our cruise near port is looking like $300.00 🎉Do you know of any alternatives in lower prices . I don’t care about a lot of amenities.🤔
Unfortunately Grand Turk has extended its Vaccine mandate thru at least 3/31/2023. Going on my 1st cruise February 18-23 and won't be able to get off the ship in Grand Turk. From my research Grand Turk is the only place in the Caribbean still requiring you to be vaccinated to get off the ship.
Not getting the Drink Package is a tip? How so? I figured if you get the drink package for the alcohol and drink enough to make it worth it. Wouldn’t it be… well worth it? Alcohol itself is expensive.
@@InsideCruise that does make sense I did the math on the one I’m going on and after gratuities it’s 86 dollars per day per person. But I think me and my girl can handle that haha
Disagree with a few things; trying to collect cruise cancellation insurance is a nightmare and they do everything not to pay. Try collecting for a traffic jam..haha.. Medical insurance absolutely but not the rest. Shore Excursions can be expensive but so is missing the ship. Your really rolling the dice with 3rd world transportation being reliable. pay the money and reduce the stress. this is your vacation not the nickel and dime day. specialty dining is one of the reasons we go on a cruise.. like 2 or 3 date nights. fine dining all dressed up. The buffet gets boring anyways.

Making u wish u never checked it in.

Sounds good, but I've never had to carry my luggage around as I wait and that's been with more than one cruise line.

Should we be comfortable with the insurance that is offered say by the cruise line Carnival
Yes, however we always prefer third party insurance as it covers you for more than just the cruise.
How long ago was the Barbados cruise for the testing requirements as we are sailing out of there in march
It was a few months ago - it was just an example to check - it may have changed now!
So we can’t take hair strainers, hair curl and dryer in the cruise? So what may be the alternatives?
You can take all of those just no irons or steamers.

We don't work for an insurance company
