15 Minute SHOULDER WORKOUT at Home or the Gym with Dumbbells

  • This is a 15 minute follow along dumbbell shoulder workout you can do at home or the gym!
    Building your shoulders are all part of creating a defined upper body and should definitely be part of your training...I like to incorporate shoulder specific training at least once per week however they also get worked during other workouts such as full body, chest, back and arm sessions!
    This is a follow along shoulder workout with dumbbells hitting all 3 deltoid heads (front, middle and rear) for those capped shoulders.
    You will need a pair of dumbbells and a mat. For your reference I am using 2 x 8kg. I always try to pick 1 pair of dumbbells to show how you can train if you don’t have access to a wider range of dumbbells. This 8kg weight per hand is the max I would go for my rear delt flyes hence this is the weight I picked.
    I know many of us love no repeat but multiple sets definitely have their place in strength training. We will be completing 3 sets of the following:
    ALTERNATING PRESS
    CLEAN TO PRESS
    90° ELBOW LATERAL RAISE
    DIAGONAL PRESS (x 1 dumbbell)
    REAR DELT FLYES
    Finisher!!!
    PRESS (x2 dumbbells) straight into...
    PRESS (x1 dumbbell)!!
    The exercises are for 30 seconds each, with 30 seconds rest before next set!
    If you are new to shoulder training, please take care with lifting weight above head and ensure you are using a suitable weight.
    Maintain slight bend at elbows for all raises, keep knees slightly bent when standing and keep core tight throughout.

    when i started doing this workout (about 6 months ago), it was hard for me to do it with two 1kg dumbbells. now, I'm doing it with 7,5kg per hand. so thank you so much, your helping me a lot with building my body 💪

    honestly caroline, i don't even understand how i've become that person who works out nearly every day of the week and actually find it fulfilling in many ways. in fact, might just be the best parts of my lockdown days. since i have pcos, i try not to 'stress' myself out too much so i don't raise my cortisol levels too much during workouts and every single one of your workouts has always been just the right amount of sweat and burn without me wanting to cry. i actually finish them! thank you for giving us sooo much content to choose from at varying intensity, lengths, and focuses. with equipment, without. there's a caroline girvan video for whatever mood you're in and i think that's precisely why i'll be here long time!

    I am 58 years old and have kept up with elliptical workouts but nothing really structured. I absolutely love these workouts. They are all different and they can all be modified to some degree. Thanks for the workouts. I love that you don’t talk through them and your music is awesome too!

    Hi Caroline. I'm living in Bolivia. I'm 62. I've always wanted to learn dumbbells since my husband works out at home thus we have dumbbells. However the ONLY instruction I could ever find for years was aerobic or kickboxing etc. for woman to do in gyms. Everything high intensity fat burning but nothing instructive for strength training with dumbbells which is what most older people need to fight osteopenia and not pull something. I appreciate that you have SO much variety out there for ALL people even older ones but without treating us like we're too elderly to do it. I especially appreciate right now your older videos that explain a bit more about what body part the exercize is working and what the body part is called. The explanations help me see why and what I should focus on. You're so well-rounded and not partial. Thank you for that.

    My shoulders like. What I love abt it is as you get stronger you just need to bump up the weight to intensify properly. These are already the perfect movements for building up and maintaining shoulder health.💜

    I did this Day 4 playlist I only had time for shoulders with dumbbells and standing abs. What a challenging combo! I had not done the standing ab video when it first came out because I thought “how hard could you really work your abs while standing?” Well I was wrong! The standing ab workout is one of the most creative ab workouts I’ve ever done. And combined with shoulders is really tough!! I

    Shear Shoulder Shredder. 15 MINS and they were done. Used 12.5kg for the presses and 10kg for the rest. Literally as you hit the finisher the burn is intense, its takes every last effort to complete it.
    Another awesome week completed. Some new production tonight Caroline, looks great. LOVE the wee wave at the end very cute, all Northern Ireland people must have the same wave even the lads 😉 Hopefully see you tomorrow for Sunday HIIT 👍

I felt like I was CHEATING on you when I had knee surgery I had to check someone else out, but ONLY because they had SEATED WORKOUTS.     I love these! I did the 20 minutes chest and triceps yesterday and yoga, and you cool cardio one. Day before that I did the biceps and back! Today this.. this is very doable. I can do my cardio and then these muscle ones every day!

      @@CarolineGirvan yup!! Like you have mentioned on some of your videos somedays you have more energy than on other days. Today I had tons of energy and wanted to do more. Other days I combine your short videos. I try to do atleast a 40 minute workout session 5 days a week. I really enjoy the fact that you are not constantly talking but use your hands to indicate the number of repetitions, or a smile on your face to encourage us. It completely aligns with my Montessori teaching philosophy. Isolation of senses either talking, or doing not both at the same time..lol I'm sorry I got carried away. I just love your sessions.     This was another great workout! I pushed myself this time and decided to increase my pathetic 5 lbs to 8 lbs and it was so much harder but felt so good. My plan for May is to do one of your workouts every day even if it is only 15 min. Thank you thank you thank!

    Loved this quick workout. Very effective but not easy. Used 15lbs for everything except rear delt flies I used 5lbs.
