  • Hi guys! Another busy week! We're getting ready for the V8 Showdown, so we decided to fix up an old car dolly after we moved in our "new" brake lathe... Then: Rover P5 update, and a preview of a classic car auction... Let me know what cars you think I bought! I headed over to Agent 6667's place to help Myles install the headliner in his 1966 Plymouth Fury...
Thanks to everyone who ordered a "T" shirt... They are on their way now! We'll discuss the new calendars this week, too!
Also: We just got in a new shipment of "Same Old Shit" coffee mugs, so get them while they last, haha!
Oh! I do not have a Telegram account or any bullshit contest going! Do not respond to any of these "contest winner" replies; they are a scam.
Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments!

I've always thought that despite whaterver Fuck-bombs need to be dropped, and the more than ocassional Hash-fest and rock and roll, this is one of the most Wholesome channels on RUclips in any genre. With Scott's general calm attitude, Frankers and the genuine sense of comraderie among all the Agents, this channel is a legitimate tutorial on how to live life honestly.

That headliner looks amazing! The brake lathe is something im looking forward to seeing used as i cant say ive seen one before. This channel has been such a treat to watch because it pulls the relics out of the dusty forgotten places and uses them. The distributor machine is fascinating to me LOL (it must be the flashing lights) and the valve grinding equipment was fun to see too the first time too. I didn't take mechanics in high school, welding was my thing. To me depriving todays youth of high school vocational opportunities and experience is a massive failure. There is going to be such a demand for skilled trades ppl as us old farts retire or get sick and have to quit (me) there are less of us around to teach the new ones. So good work guys, keep the old stuff going!!

Beautiful job on Myles Fury. The interiors on cars of that vintage were so amazing. Just saw a 66 Charger with the red interior and it was just awesome with the rear buckets and console. Prayers for Steve Magnante that he makes a speedy recovery and is back in "class" at the junkyard teaching again.

Wow!!! A Renault Fuego!!! That's almost a collector's piece here in Argentina nowadays! Very popular car due to Renault's factory involvement in one of our major racing series (TC 2000) back in the 1980s-90s! That model literally dominated the series at will from 1986 to 1993 winning all drivers and manufacturers' titles. Unfortunately, the very few that are still on the street are shot 'cause there aren't any spare parts left, so people have to either fix the old ones or fabricate new ones which in most cases are pretty much pretty crude.

I have a memory of being in my Dad's VW Squareback, driving at night between Salzburg and Vienna, Austria, on the autobahn. There was a Citroen Dyane driving in front of us and I remember thinking, "That's a pretty car." That's a strange memory still occupying space in my brain.

The headliner- I`m impressed, something that happens increasingly rarely it seems. Back in the early 70`s I worked in a Chevy dealership body shop and remember a conversation I had with my boss Allen about doing headliners. He was just the best. He told me the way he would do them was to park the car in the sun, start the engine, roll the windows up, turn on the heater full blast and spend 2 hours in hell. He said any small wrinkles, if there were any, would generally disappear when things cooled down. I never did one but I always looked upon a headliner done well as the most difficult thing to get right on a restoration, but really, you do the same thing with sheet metal- turn a 2-dimension piece of material into a 3- dimensional object. My hat is off, nicely done. And yeah, I think about the guys who did this every day, all day. There`s amazing people you`ll never get to meet who got it done.

Thanks' for the update on Lauras log cabin. I look forward to hear more about it. Good luck to both teams in the V8 showdown ! By the way, the total Renault Fuego production is a little more than 265000 units, all types included. And you're right about the DYANE, It was meant to be a modernized version of the 2CV. I have read somewhere that the name had something to do with hunting goddess DIANA but that there was a restriction for Citroën to use that name so they went for DYANE.

That was a Case DC row crop tractor with the “chicken roost” outboard steering arm drag link. I grew up driving the smaller Case SC tractor. The old joke is that the difference between the SC and the DC models was that the SC held 12 chickens, but the DC held 13. 😂

I always love seeing Andy’s 1969 Fairlane. That was a spring 1969 Ford promo item to encourage people to trade in nasty old cars that had miraculously survived winter: 302 V8, automatic, p/s (but manual drum brakes), AM radio, and the outside had the vinyl roof, “racing” mirrors, and glitzy wheel covers. The package came at an attractive price and special low interest rates were offered. My father in law had the exact same one but pale green with a black roof. Ford dealers’ service departments in warm climates often added under-dash aftermarket a/c units. Rust claimed the vast majority of them in road salt states within 10 years.

Was beginning to wonder if that "swing set" was going to lift the brake lathe or just "bow to the queen" ?? All the best wishes for a successful surgery to Myles. That red on Myles Fury is going to look "HOT" ??? Will it be one color or two ??
Never saw a headliner installed before. Do they all have the little "spikes" to hook on to ??? Looked like it came out very nice. No, NOT surprised at all !!!
Looking forward to seeing the V8 Challenge. Even more, looking forward to seeing the antique cabin restoration project. Hope you will spend a fair amount of time on it !!! That's where I would be the "most" useful. Sure looking forward to those calendars. A friend (from around Cincinnati Ohio) used to do "Delta Queen Steamboat" calendars using pictures he took along it's Mississippi River cruises. The last one he did was 2020 and it's still hanging on my wall. It's time for it to be replaced by a 2024 CWM Calendar !!!

Great job on the headliner! You mentioned learning from watching a professional do it, however you missed a critical step. Instead of using a brush to apply the adhesive, you're supposed to use a spray gun at high pressure and get glue overspray all over the fresh paint and everything else in the shop. Just a handy tip I picked up from the pro's.
It's too bad that Packard Cabriolet appears to have previous "restoration" work. Otherwise that'd be an awesome car. I do think you should buy a Traction Avant though...

Awesome auction sales. I do like the odd cars that usually very few people make a offer. But these are the ones that in the long term will get more attention. Good job helping Miles install the headliner, the car looks very nice now. For a raw and not edited video it is still very good. Can't wait for the V8 challenge.

I’m glad to hear that Frankers is OK…so many fantastic project vehicles at the auction…I would have hauled those AMC Wagons home…and perhaps a couple of the Cadillacs.

Super video! Who would have guessed that an 8-seater Traction Avant existed anywhere other than a museum? Also appreciated your headliner work. Current cars have the liner material glued to a moulded backing panel. Once made a vinyl covering more flexible by stripping off the gauze backing (loosened with acetone in well ventilated room). Re- classic cars, driving home from work in Montreal, yesterday, was following an original FIAT "Topolino" with Quebec vanity license plate - mint condition. About the size of the "original" Austin-Morris Mini. Cheers, oj

I love the team spirit of you guys, I have a similar bunch of mates here in the U.K. - we usually organise 3 or 4 weekend sessions a year at whoever needs help. The host pays for the hotels and fish n chips and the rest finance the travelling and put in a 10 hour day each. You can get 3 weeks work done in a weekend when there are half a dozen of you. The Mopar signs were amazing. How come you call the bonnet the "bonnet" Scott? Do Canadians use British names for vehicle parts?
Oh and by the way, Frankers is nuts 😄

No we don't. I think he makes a conscious effort to use the appropriate lingo to the British cars.

I wish I had been at that auction and with a big bankroll for a couple of those French oldies. Especially the Citroën Traction Avant. Even just drooling is good enough for me. Thanks guys. I look forward to at least purchasing a calendar 2024. That I can afford.

I've installed many headliners and I have to say it's my least favorite part of a vehicle to install. I imagine neck and back problems and a bad rotator cuff probably played a part. You guys did it the same as I always did and was taught, having a high quality material also makes all of the difference.
Another great video this week. I always look forward to watching your video at suppertime on Saturdays. Thanks!

Scott, interesting raw footage is way better than fine tuned dull! Myles finally gave you guys a "brake"! It was sketch all the way with that recycled swing set a-frame but it came off the truck with no damage to machine or mankind so another win! "Restoration" of the car dolly was a hoot and a half with a makeshift sledge hammer, penetrant and some jolly time seesaw hijinks! Dan's Chrysler/Plymouth backlit sign is a jewel as is the Rover as it inexorably moves toward its well earned finish coat! Loved the auction including lawn shots! Having done what is most likely my last headliner a couple of years back I was high anxiety all the way! Your advantage was Frankers who helped burn off the stress! Extremely high quality results in spite of your oft mentioned amateur status! Overall another well wrought episode albeit with a few hammer marks around the edges. Cheers to you and the always helpful agents! Oh and my T tee showed up none the worse for wear! I'll wear it with pride!

Rover with the primer you can tell you did an excellent job as usual and looking forward to seeing what's happening to the cabin. The walk through the auction my pick would be the Peugeot wagon and so fun watching you do the headliner I would get my wife to help me to do that and end up alone (divorced).

What an odd place in the world to find a few "Le Cars" a Dyane and some Tractions. The 2CV`s are everywhere in the world,
but a Dyane is truly different. You are right Scott, its a 2CV with a ala Ami, fancier body on the same platform.
Johnny Mac has an Adams family Green one here in YVR. The remains of the Seville's were interesting. It is SO nice to see
that expensive American cars can rot just as much as a Renault 10. Did my old heart good to see this show.
The headliner installation, Chapeau my Boys.
Thanks for another hour of pure joy.

First, what a super-smooth transition at 59:52 to Tom's S-O-S line. Feel better, Frankers, and learn from this, or Daddy might have to introduce you to motorcycle-type goggles. It will be cool to see when you start cleaning up brake drums and turn some of the rollers into roller-stoppers. That was an amazing collection being auctioned off. I hope they all go to good homes, and that at least 1 of them ends up at the CWM compound. Congrats to Dan for scoring that Chrysler Plymouth illuminated sign. Those 48 inch long LED tubes are great substitutes for older fluorescent tubes, not least because they work even in a cold environment - which is very good for you folks who make your home 53 degrees north of the Equator. That '66 Fury headliner looks great. And I look forward to more info about the calendar.
