Some leaders exercise unrighteous dominion over the members. That bishop must be released immediately.

This was an issue in a ward I was in. It was a ward where many had been in the area for generations.
The women shouldnt have been dismissed, but.... there wasnt enough information presented on the issue to deal with it.

I wonder what she meant about women not feeling included in the ward. I’m not sure what that would mean. Other than the norm that women aren’t in power in the church as a whole. But what the difference in that ward in particular.

I’m not in her ward, but as an Exmo, I’m pretty sure it means that their thoughts, concerns, anxieties, or even ideas are not acknowledged, and it’s because of that patriarchal power dynamic within all of the church

@@katielee7897 So nothing specific to that ward then you think? I still just thought with everything she said that it sounded like something more than that. But who knows really though.

Ward Council is THE time to listen to the women of the ward. Priority is give to the RS Pres, Primary Pres and YW Pres during Ward Council. Why? Because it's the only meeting where those sister organizations are invited and recognized with the Priesthood leadership. Bishopric meeting and PEC (Priesthood Executive Committee) does in include the sister's So, during my time, I made sure the Priesthood use WC as a time to listen to the sisters, period. Also, Bishopric sets the culture of the ENTIRE ward, starting with leaders of the ward and to every member, warmth, welcoming and loved. I believe most wards practice this, im sure there's some exceptions. Gospel is still true despite imperfect members.

When the Titanic sank, women were given priority over men when it came to boarding Lifeboats. Equality dictates that men should have been given the same opportunity to live; and, therefore, feminists should have given up their place on these Lifeboats.

Which means the bishop of her ward was a misogynist punk.
