Your dad did a really great job painting the El Camino. My dad had the talent for painting. We had a body shop in the early eighties. We actually did everything an auto shop.

I was a little concerned at his short paint strokes. I was taught full panel strokes. But hats off to your Dad. I learned something new today.

Joining cut panels so you cant tell that its been repaired is a real art, it doesn't mattenr how good the paint is it wont hide bad panel work. So congratulations to youre dad on getting the body work tip top shape with a beautiful paint job to go, well done chaps looking forward to the finished car. Can I suggest a spray in bed liner as this will preserve better than a plastic liner. those little dents prove it's authenticity as a survivor. Thank you for returning her back from the grave!!! Oh, the paint job is awesome, love the two tone as it does set it off right!

That paint job is killer ! What a cool cruiser. I use paint guns from Harbor Freight, the 15.99 one. I've tried more expensive guns but those do the best job for me.

I knew a bodyshop guy, who, instead of using masking tape on the badges, would smear them carefully with grease. Did a good job. I saw a 64 Galaxie he repainted. So glad you repainted this in the original colours. That is the colour for this car.

Car looks great, I love 1960 Chevys. We had a 60 Nomad brand new Horizon Blue, a 2 door hardtop Impala, Fawn Beige with copper interior and much later, a silver 4 door Sport Sedan! I want another one!!

So, the Shorts just showed me your channel. I noticed that you were a bit hesitant to ship that sweet caddy limo out of the country but how you changed your mind.
Let me make you feel even better about that.
I live in Sweden and the classic car scene here is huge. I have lived in a number of small towns (2.5 - 10 k population) and there are SO many 30-70's cars in immaculate shape.
On the street I live I have two neighbors who each own 1955 convertible Ford Thunderbirds, the ones with the spare wheel on the rear. One in a perfect cherry red and the other in super clean yellow. All restored to perfection.
There are regular "cruise meetups" when the season permits.
The larger Cadillacs are no rare sight either. just yesterday I passed a SUPER clean black 53 Bonneville with a matching camper behind it.
So, all in all, the love for classic cars is still alive and well over here. You can feel good about passing those gems on, they will live on for a long time. :)

You did good, I agree the white roof was an excellent choice. Your dad can sure paint. I learned to paint commercially when I was young (buildings) just like you dad did, I was taught to paint edges and hard to do areas first then the flat sections.

Imagine buying one of these brand new!! How much fun that must of been. Ive been subscribed quite a while now, and really enjoy following everything your doing. Congratulations on your channel, you definitely deserve it! And on a side note, I'm the proud owner of a 1958 cadillac sedan, Travis, know you like sedans, bought by my parents in 1960, I was 1 year old then, and a 68 Mustang I bought in 1977 when I was 18. Both lifelong Southern California cars, in great shape. And still going down the road.
