Now that I’m in my late 50’s, and 2 divorces later, I’ve come to realize the following: A Roadster Shop custom built chassis/car is cheaper, far more reliable, and far more loyal than a relationship
Honestly, I appreciate the level of authenticity you bring to the video. You don't come off like some over-polished automotive journalist. I prefer your style
I love the 348/409 look on the LS!!! Team up with Hagerty and make a video with them at an iconic racetrack like Laguna Seca. Compete with some of your builds against some known heavy hitters like the new Mustang dark horse, Corvette ZO6, and a Porshe RS. This would really demonstrate how you don't just build beautiful cars you transform them into absolute modern beasts. It really doesn't translate through a screen what has happened by just watching you drive on the street without a seatbelt on. Throw down the gauntlet on how the Roaster Shop classically modernizes these timeless American machines and make them just as much a pleasure to drive as they are to look at! And why the rich should be building more cars like this instead of spending their money on whatever just arrived at the dealership.
These cars have never had any appeal for me, but you guys have created a beautiful classy ride! The fact that it's an actual driver makes me like it more
Awesome, I’m restoring a 59 el Camino myself with my woman and this thing blows any kind of plans we have for the 59 out of the water haha! Would love to do something like this but my skill set and wallet are limited! Sweet ride. First gen caminos are chefs kiss.
18:49 I geek out on the technical breakdowns you and Phil relay. No notes - these videos are so much fun. I’d love to see a second-gen version of the video you did with the ‘69 COPO compared directly to an RS-equipped ‘69. You know, once you get your ‘70 TA done!
Love that part at the end with the UPS truck, that made me laugh. A couple weeks ago I'm driving down the road trying to diagnose the banging and clunking coming from the left front brake on my car, it turned out to be a spry can under my seat, LMAO.
🎉I have a 70 Chevelle/Malibu with your Spec chassis underneath. Hope to come up enough to one day send it to RS. In a word, you guys are Epic! No. 1 in the country for builds.
Luv that thing!! I could picture it with the roof 1maybe2 inches lower with a little shorter windshield...but keeping all the window trim curvatures at the top. Then I’d stretch/lengthiness the doors a few inches or shorten the fenders/bedsides so there’s a better proportioned look to the build. Yes that’s a lot work for overalls minimal changes...but after that she’d be way cooler in my heart. Much luv&respect from Hawaii to all at RS🙏🏽🤙🏽
That is a beautiful car, and a great build. I love when you keep the outside looking close to stock, but have modern running gear under it to be reliable and have good power. I love how you said you upgraded the gauges but have them look original. I am definitely a fan of your builds. Keep up the good work, when you do good quality like this you will have lots of customers
That is so cool! It's nice to see something different, you are not going to see another one at the cars and coffee. Love the engine detail! It looks 60yrs old, but it runs modern, it starts every time and runs smoothly. Ideal power!
Love those early El Caminos. I think you've got the raised bed rails on the wrong sides, the angle of the uprights would then match the angle of the roof pillar.
Love the car and love all the products you put out. RS has the perfect blend of leading-edge technology and concept but with an element of outcomes that I fool myself into thinking I too could attain. I guess you could say your "esthete" is so appealing while not being snobby or unattainable. You want stuff to talk about? I'm interested in the processes you use at every stage of a build. Im interested in the creative side and who's involved in your shop, and what influenced them and inspires them. I want to know what equipment you use to manufacture and how you decide on the combinations of materials used in each build. I'm a particular sucker for interiors, and you've pulled off some gorgeous examples so far. The interior in the 65 Pontiac 2+2 you built still stands out as the pinnacle of artistic craft, imo. I love the drive-arounds, and don't stop those. But show us some of the craft that goes into building these cars. Keep up the good work, don't get complacent, stay humble, and keep looking to grow and get better, but never lose your original vision of producing hand crafted excellence.
I would like to see a video comparing the chassis options you guys offer for these. Fast track vs Ride line, dissecting each to offer customers some insight into what would be better for them. Ex. I like the ride line chassis because of the engine mounts / control arm bushings, but when I watch these videos I think fast track would be totally fine.
I love the in depth stuff.. how did the chassis go together? Did you run into any issues? What issues do you run into marrying these classic cars to a modern chassis? What does the shakedown process look like? Your videos are awesome and I love them but the car geek in me always loves the in depth stuff
I would like to see some of the builds perform auto crossing or on the track. You guys are doing my 66 impala fast track. I would like to see more on builds. How can I get in touch with you. I am want to know what’s need to build an ultimate chassis. I would like to see your thoughts on one of your best builds on youtube as well. Thanks keep up the great work.
Bad ride man you got it right I liked the buckets off the 62 I h😂ave64 and the column idea steering wheel.el Camino are complete hot rod cool car I don’t think anyone be crazy not to like so simple get you so much
1964 Elcamino 327 3 speed column conversion to floor original 3 rd owner garage kept been sitting bout year maybe was running was nice I’m disabled give to 14 year son. When turn 18 but like I an automatic l ls conversin switch frame and hardware r keep all original carburetor
Shame you didn't use the correct W-Block valve cover _adapters_ instead of the straight "incorrect" W-Block to LS valve cover themselves... now you have bolt holes in the center of your covers where they're not supposed to be and it's a dead giveaway. There's straight adapters to use OE GM W cover or aftermarket W covers which bolt up like original and which still hide the coils underneath the covers, then you can run vintage OE covers or say, Offie finned covers, or vintage Eldelbrock covers and it's much more "passible" as a W....
Making videos about cool cars is entertaining...without mentioning the cost of the project...it is a bit deceptive...If people knew how much these cars cost...it would give them some "reference"...and some might say, "How much???...Sorry, it is nice...but not that nice...I'd rather have a ___________", which is fine...Don't fear the "judgement"...If you can't divulge the pricetag...let people know the ballpark...These great machines are not for the "every man"...They are the exclusive territory of wealthy folks...which is fine.
Build an automobile (car/truck etc) in which the automaker doesn’t exist anymore, AKA “orphan” trying to find original parts, fabbing parts could make for good content....AND WRITE-OFF!
When I was younger I used to fantasize about women , now that I'm in my later 50's I fantasize about a Roadster Shop build... just perfect !
You crazy, my man!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Me too 😊

Yes you're right, thanks for being real

This + Mike Joy's "Impalaized" 60 El Camino = perfection.
Such a badass ride! Honored to play a small part in these amazing builds. Can't wait to check it out in person. 🔥
This is one clean El Camino!
These cars have never had any appeal for me, but you guys have created a beautiful classy ride! The fact that it's an actual driver makes me like it more
I've always liked them alot but making it such a beautiful driver, it just blows me away! 👍👍👍

I've been enjoying your builds since we used to enjoy after GG show dinners...quality will always keep you guys heads and shoulders above the rest.
I love to see technicals on how you guys do things. You’ve got to be one of the most technical shops in the biz. Show it off!
59/60s are so underrated!!
A very beautiful car!
I'm a Ford fan and an owner of a Ranchero and I can't even front, that El Camino is dope! Beautiful build and gorgeous car!
Looks sick floating down the road, valve covers bring it together nice too👏🏾👏🏾
As usual, a damn nice build. Very tastefully done. America can be proud of you.
Love the videos and all the verbal content, please no changes just keep them coming.
One of my favorite builds so far. The a/c might be the best part of the interior
Learning more about the little details and anything that was changed/modified on the builds is always fun to hear about
I absolutely love these and this build, awesome job RS!
Love the videos! Well done and no BS. No need to change a thing. I just need to bring my truck to your shop and figure a budget.
This one bad boy!!! Keep up the good work. AWESOME!!!!!
Bloody beautiful work guys
Gorgeous El Camino you guys did a great job 👏 👍
Don't beat yourself up. Love watching/seeing the builds coming from RS. Been a fan since the Elgin days and great to see where you are now.
Just another incredible build guys!
you guys knocked it out of the park, beautiful build man!
Now….. is it a car or truck?? That’s the question… the answer is it does not matter.. IT IS A BAD ASS RIDE!!! Great job!!!!
Love that part at the end with the UPS truck, that made me laugh. A couple weeks ago I'm driving down the road trying to diagnose the banging and clunking coming from the left front brake on my car, it turned out to be a spry can under my seat, LMAO.
As always you guys killed it! Fantastic Job!
Awesome build. Hopefully I get to see it at an AZ goodguys.

You guys are on a roll hit after hit, just some epic builds. Love the trucks too.
❤❤❤ awesome, another home run
Flawless build
I'd love to have my 1970 Elcamino SS 396 set up like this
Nice job
This is my idea of the ultimate driver! Absolutely love it - and I don't like blue!

You guys make good stuff and your local! When can I get a shop tour?
Y'all should give a ranchero the same treatment. Full pro touring chassis, a Godzilla, & 6 speed.

as Jay would say: "nicely done"... undercarriage looks impressive.... power-wise, for street, you don't need more than 500hp....

How much height adjustability does a Spec chassis have? Love the slammed look but what are the options?
I just gave this video its 348th upvote. Seems appropriate.
💯💯💯
We want to see burnouts 😂 sweet ride!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
How much travel do the front shocks have?
Is there going to be a build video on the 70 chevelle?
Are any of your builds for sale? Or are they built for clients? Thank you!
Could you do a 60 Coupe deville and make it perform like the El Camino or better??
👍🤙
Bad ride man you got it right I liked the buckets off the 62 I h😂ave64 and the column idea steering wheel.el Camino are complete hot rod cool car I don’t think anyone be crazy not to like so simple get you so much
You should do a 47-55.1 suburban
I’ve got one you can use
Would you do a colab with Revology or Ring Bros?
Reasonable budget?
1964 Elcamino 327 3 speed column conversion to floor original 3 rd owner garage kept been sitting bout year maybe was running was nice I’m disabled give to 14 year son. When turn 18 but like I an automatic l ls conversin switch frame and hardware r keep all original carburetor

Take my Money!! hahah
I don't know Barry, but if he were me, I'd be giggling and squealing like a little Chinese school girl every time I'd get behind the wheel.
A 59 just the original born to be bad azz mean no
So bitchen!!!!!!! Great work....... Greetings from india 🇮🇳🤩🤩🤠🤠🤘🏻🙌🏻
Love those cars but my favorite is the 58 impala and the 59 impala is top of my list don't make em like that anymore

@@Yip-Man your post has ZERO value.
