It's disrespectful to watch a channel and not subscribe! It doesn't cost anything nor does it obligate you to anything. It just supports the channel and helps the people who spend their money and time making the videos that you like to watch. these guys earn it. And if they've kept you entertained or engaged for the video. It ain't gonna hurt you to hit the like button. They've earned that too.

Today I’d agree with you on the 120 thousand, but then, trucks weren’t usually driven like we do today, they didn’t run to Walmart and McDonald’s every day…..

Driving a truck like this was hard work, especially on the rough roads they had back in the day. 50,000 miles in one of these is like 300,000 in a modern vehicle.

I still own my KB2, like the one you worked on, but no longer own my old 1953 Dodge-same engine as the 49 you're working on now. Both trucks should have a provision for a hand crank through the grille, just below the radiator.

You fellas would be well served to build a small fuel tank with an electric fuel pump that would run off a jump pack. FIll er up with the appropriate fuel, set it up on the roof and run a temporary fuel line to the carburetor (or injection pump). That way you eliminate any number of wild card variables right off the bat. Not a big expense, especially considering the cuss'n and head banging it will save. 😊A couple of cans of Kroil on the job would be a big help too. When in doubt - soak er down. The prop for the hood still has a rubber cap on the top end. Amazing Thought the Tucson region climate would have disintegrated that decades ago. A 12 volt inverter to 110 that will run an air compressor (Harbor Freight - here we come) off your vehicle would be a huge help too. Pretty tough to clear off 40 years of desert corruption with a floor broom 😅 In case it's not clear - my first step is compressed air and Kroil 🤣

My father and I do carpentry, flip homes, build decks, do landscaping... That kind of thing. He's broad strokes, work fast, see the project being completed.
I love the meticulous small things. Taking the interior out of my car to deep clean it every couple years, making sure everything fits perfectly, figuring out the why and how.
