I'm on my second "Inspiron" now, had first one for 4 years and it was amazing for all the study, notes, field drawing and handwriting notes and scratches on scene, stored all my legal documents (had over 70GB of just legal statutes and documents) and then also watching Netflix with Bluetooth headphones at home when winding down. (Sadly I left on top of red one day and it came off on a corner at 50ish KPH, still ran for about 4 months till I got the replacement I'm setting up now) Just came back to this video to say it's when made me decide 100% to get the latest version (also included dedicated stylus is great, older models like mine had to purchase crappy third party ones, that were no where near as accurate!). Unless you do very heavy " high processor needs " type usage, these will do what you want, laptop, tablet, 8-10Hrs average battery usage, sharp display, very responsive inputs, reliable software and hardware and all the right connections for (I'd personally guess) 75% ish of computer users...

Great video. I had a concern about the screen size. But after seeing this video I realize I can always connect an external monitor. I can also take it around like a tablet as it is lightweight. So, it offers much more flexibility in terms of usage.

@@jenniekim1416 I use windows 11. It's actually quite easy to find your way around if you're used to windows 10 and watch 1-2 videos. Windows 11 just looks a lot more modern and is generally smarter.

Right now 2-in-1 drawing performance is not as good as standalone tablets like iPad and Samsung tablets that support S Pen

I noticed that there's a bit lag before the letter appears if you move the stylus fast while writing
It’s the usual latency with such pens on tablets.

Not sure about that. Depends on where you buy also.
The last time I bought something from Dell, usually monitors, it's about 1 week.
If you buy from retailers, not Dell, and they have stock, they can ship quite fast. Especially from Lazada and Shopee sellers. Make sure to check the warranty info.

I buy that product but the pen doesn't working well. When i make a line (hands free design) it become dotted line. So you know the solution?

Thank you very thorough review. I'm in my first of week back to college. I was looking for a tablet or 2 in 1 to take notes i was looking at the xps 2 in 1, inspiron 2 in 1, or Samsung tab s7. I don't need to draw much mostly take notes but it seems like i will be better served with the tab s7. any thoughts?
Choose base on the software you want to use. Samsung cannot install Windows desktop software. If you don't need Windows software, then Samsung is a good choice. But note that the Tab S7+ has only 7 hour battery life while Tab S7 has 12+ hours.

For coding, go with laptops with displays with 3:2 aspect ratio

Yep, I can confirm you can use other pens, but after trying I think 8 different ones, the "PN5122W" pen that comes with the Inspiron is the best, finest, sharpest and most reliable/durable trip of all
suggest a better laptop with touch and pen (i would be mostly using for PhotoShop and photo Illustrator)
Maybe the Samsung laptop that supports S Pen or the Microsoft Surface Pro
is the keyboard iluminated? can you turn that on?

I was going to buy this for digital note taking in OneNote (over the tab s7) but now I'm not sure whether this will be a good choice...
Tab S7 is much better at taking notes. BUT choose base on the software you want to use because this runs Windows and Samsung runs Android.

It’s good. Powerful enough. Another option if you don’t need the pen, and have the budget, is to check out LG Gram

8GB should be alright
8gb is less than optimal, if you dont keep alot of tabs, do consistent heavy work, or have multiple ram hungry alplications open you will be fine. You might bump into problems with speed when you have an amount of windows/tabs open sometimes. There is a 16gb version in both intel and AMD. But the inter version i believe is around 1000 while the AMD one is currently on sale for 800, normally selling for 1000. (Wont notice processing difference normally, if you multi task, render/edit photo or video, or do technical work amd is more efficent however)

Speakers in laptop mode is not good as it points down. Tent mode is better as it points towards you

There is palm rejection. With apps that support pen input, there's perfect palm rejection.

Sure, it's definitely powerful enough for graphic design. It's not that good for drawing but for graphic design, no problem.

Lenovo flex 5 is good but the keyboard sinks in and hinges move freely which is not very good, made of plastic. Inspiron made of metal can be better cpu, dual channel ram.

It's the Dell Active Pen. Oh, it may not come with the pen I just found out. So pen may be sold separately

What would you prefer a tablet of the same price or this. I would like to do sketching sometimes but mostly its for education purpose and watching videos. I would also like to carry it to working sites.
For the occasional sketching or writing, I think it work fine. This is not meant to a specialised drawing tool.

Just get anything with 16:10 aspect ratio display. And make sure display has at least 100% sRGB. Specs-wise most laptops today are very capable

I am a computer engineering student and I need a good laptop that can do multi-task without lagging and can also do programming activities without any issues. Is this laptop good for me? if not can u suggest to me any other laptop?
Yeah, it's definitely powerful enough for multi-tasking. However for programming, I recommend laptops with at least 16:10 or 3:2 (best) aspect ratio. More height means you can see more lines of code without having to scroll more often.

For drawing, no. Either get the Samsung with the S Pen included, or Surface Pro. Or a normal laptop with a non-screen drawing tablet.

@@teohontech7141 I read that the i5 model uses USB 3.2 gen 2x2 and the i7 model uses Thunderbolt 4. I could be wrong though.

Fans are not that noisy. With normal usage it won't get hot.

I measured 201 nits maximum brightness. It's alright. Could be better but usable.

There are only the usual Microsoft apps. You have to buy all the other apps yourself.
