- There have been more than 560 mass shootings across the US so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a mass shooting as an incident in which four or more people are injured or killed.
The United States has the highest number of mass shootings in the world.
The BBC's Sumi Somaskanda explains the complex factors contributing to an increase in these incidents across the country.

America - where healthcare is a privilege, and owning a gun is a right!
There is no "Right" to healthcare unless your an illegal.
American Health care is cheaper than UKs
Healthcare can’t be a right because you don’t have a right to other peoples labor.

Tell us when man’s evil has stopped and you might have an angle short bus.
A more appropriate question is “Why are mass shootings even a thing in the US when other countries with gun carrying citizens do not have this problem”
You mean those countries where they don't cater to criminals and throw them in jail or? What magical utopia do you live in? Watch none of you can answer this and rage on.

@@CensortubesEngland where we have zero school shootings compared to your more than zero LOL
Because it is a lot harder to own a gun in other countries outside the US. For example in Japan to have a gun license (with a validity of 3 yrs) you need to pass a written & shooting test, police background checks, psychiatric & drug test clearance, register to the police the details of the weapon including where it's stored etc etc. Too much hassle/effort to own a gun, so the few civilians who do get a gun license are extremely careful and protective of this privilege
The many smaller mass shootings (four victims) which make up the bulk of mass shooting cases, and are largely due to gang violence, are massively overshadowed by the few bigger mass shootings.
BBC is anti white
And why do you think that is? Why would the national media completely ignore 99% of mass shootings and cherry-pick a few per year to cover? I bet you can guess...
You can't reason with people that have an anti 2A agenda.
In USA you need to stay aware of your surroundings and be prepared to defend yourself at all times. Consider carrying a tourniquet and trauma kit as well.
Mentally ill people having guns is the issue
Numerous EDC channels here on YT mention a useless folding knife too. Not to mention the MRE:s I assume all carry in the backpack.
Everytime ...u need to aware and alert ⚠️..because any moment you can't be shot may be by someone or accidently in a gang fight
.
Only if you live in the urban high crime areas or frequently go there. The majority of the US doesn't have a crime problem and the majority of citizens normally go their whole life never being a victim or witness of violent crime.

"Developing", or should I say regressing.
Not true because 50 years ago Americans had more guns but less mass shootings I bet this . Chicago has tough gun laws
It's important to remember here that Chicago is very close to two states that have relatively weak gun laws: Wisconsin and Indiana. So while it's easy to pick on Chicago (or any other high-crime city) for its ugly statistics, says one expert, taking bordering states into account weakens this gun-advocacy talking point.
"It's not a scientific study. It's an anecdote," said Philip Cook, a professor of public policy studies at Duke University. "They might have pointed to Washington, D.C., back in the days when D.C. banned handguns and yet had high gun-violence rates. Those bans are only at best partially effective, because the borders are permeable."
Thats why laws change from time to time depending on circumstances. Slavery ownership was also a god given right alongside the second ammendment for Americans in the past. Look at what happened ?
And the point is?
Atleast manufacturered guns are working at home than in a foreign land😂
There was also the expiration of the assault rifle ban in the early 2000s. If you look at the statistics before and after, there is a HUGE spike in shootings that just keeps growing.
False ccp bot.
Actually that is incorrect. The percentage of killings committed with any rifle or shotgun is a very small fraction of overall gun related deaths. The FBI numbers have been consistent for years at around 500 deaths with all long guns. The AR-15 related number is a subset of this 500. Focusing on the AR-15 hinders implementing solutions to the overall problem of increased violence in the US.
@@davematthews7686 That's because the entire issue isn't about reduction of firearms related crime but to disarm the population. If it was about crime reduction then media promoting criminal sub-cultures would be squashed, mental health support programs would be implemented to help lonely, fatherless, at-risk youth to find meaningful purpose in life to prevent them becoming shooters, citizens would be permitted to open carry everywhere, and consequences for committing crime would be more severe.
@@unacceptablefringe7508you're delusional lmao. Allowing everyone to carry guns everywhere increases crime.
@@kentknightofcaelin4537 I'd really like to see the studies on that because while carrying guns in public here is outright illegal, we have higher levels of gun violence per-capita than cities where carrying in public is legal. Criminals don't care if you tell them it's illegal to carry a gun in public. Simply put, you are the one who is delusional if you think that law abiding citizens carrying firearms will increase crime rather than decrease it by making less of them viable targets for criminals.

knife crime going up in response to gun crime going down is a good outcome. Knife attacks are infinitely more survivable than gun attacks. For instance, the Slenderman stabbing victim was stabbed 19 times in the throat and survived. Getting shot 19 times in the neck is not realistically survivable. Gun wounds are hard to stop from bleeding while knife wounds tend to be much easier to work with since the knife can be left in. I'd rather get attacked with a knife than shot. Stabbings do not have the trauma that bullets do. Guns also mean they can kill from a distance. Knives mean the guy has to get close to you, giving you a fighting chance.

Don't have this in 🇬🇧 and we have mental health issues the same as America does. We don't all carry guns, Americans do,its as simple as that really.
As an English person living in the usa let me tell you how insane the average American attitude towards guns is; they KNOW owning a gun increases their chance of getting shot tenfold but it’s how it makes them FEEL; empowered, important. This is what sensible gun policies are up against
Maybe they're just annoyed that a British person who is living in their country is telling them why our constitutional amendment is insane. How about talking about how in the UK you can be arrested for social media posts and are more likely to be robbed at knife point? I bet you are fun at parties.
@Ardwick-CromeI agree with you on the statistics and trained people actually being safer, except maybe cops and military because their dangerous jobs though. I own 7 guns, one is an AR-15, and I conceal carry. But, I took the time to get my concealed carry license, despite TX not requiring it. I take instructor led courses to help me train with my firearms, then go train with them. Most people aren't doing that though and no law requires it.
In my utopia, owning a gun is like getting a pilot's license. I'd also implement a federal buy back program that is 100% voluntary, to get guns out of the hands of people who just casually own them.
Yea Americans care more about their guns than they do their children.....

People always want to look for one, easy to see, singular cause to explain things like this. But that's rarely how it works. It's like the story about how World War I started because a Serbian named Gavrillo Princip assasinated Archduke of Austria, Franz Ferdinand II. There's a popular story about how Gavrillo intended to assasinate the Archduke in a public appearance, but missed his chance. So he went to a nearby deli for a sandwich and while eating, the Archduke happened to pass right in front of the deli, allowing Princip the opportunity to assasinate him. Which a lot of people point to as the cause of the war. Completely ignoring all of the politics leading up to WHY he was assasinated and WHY it was such a big deal as to cause a war, at the very least. Never mind the other contributing factors.

If you’re not willing to give up your rights to free speech, the right to unreasonable search and seizures, and rights to fair an speedy trials, you have to maintain the right to bear arms. If you forgot how the last 3 years went, the power hungry politicians used EmErGeNcY powers to herd ppl like cattle. What do you think backs up the 1st Amendment? The second one. “Those who trade freedom for safety deserve neither.”
The only part of this report you really need to know is the bit where the journalist accurately reports that anti-gun lobbyists' incessant scaremongering tactics are actually responsible for spike increases in firearm sales.
Only in America

Yet everytime there Is a mass shooting where is the good guy with the gun? Where is the john Wayne to protect us from the bad guy? All these guns and still we arent safe.
@@Censortubes ccp ?
The mass shooting epidemic is real - not scaremongering.
Love how everyone jumps to the "ban guns" conclusion while completely ignoring the lack of deterrence, mental health, and proliferation of criminal sub-cultures problems... Here in Canada we don't have mass shooting but instead have mass stabbings.... It's not guns that are the problem, just like its not knives that are the problem, it's a combination of a lack of deterrence, consequence, mental health help, and the promoting of criminal sub-cultures. Just look at the locations where these mass shootings all take place, most of them are "Gun free" zones where the shooter can go and be relatively confident that no one will be able to shoot back. In contrast there's the incident in a mall a short while back where a mass shooter was stopped by a citizen who was concealed carrying.
I haven’t found anyone in this thread saying “ban guns”.
@@Scriabin28 I find your lack of intelligence disturbing.
@@unacceptablefringe7508 Poor you, being all disturbed like that! Since no one did actually mention banning guns here, I got the impression that you’ve worked out just the one thing to say and are going to say it no matter what, even if it’s not applicable, But, as you say, I’m not too bright. And you’re disturbed. 🤣🤣🤣
@@Scriabin28 what's it like having a room temp iq? This video is about banning guns alone.
@@CensortubesI think you'd better watch it again and write down the number of times the word "ban" is used along with the context in which it is used, and then revisit your opinion about this video being "about banning guns alone". Actually, you also might want to look up "psychological projection" for help with this obsession with other people's IQs. Enjoy!
Not usa only it’s world messed up 🤦🏻♀️ That’s crazy ofc
Grenade attack are also on the Rise in Sweden the country which has one of the strictest Gun Laws, also once safest country Sweden is now bombing capital of Europe, and also countries like Belgium and Netherlands both of which also have strict gun laws are now both NARCO states and are been taken over by Moroccan Mafia (Mocro Mafia).
And in England itself which also has strict Gun laws, knife crime is also rising and is at all time high.
US knife crime is still higher.
knife crime going up in response to gun crime going down is a good outcome.
