- This is a review of the Earthquake Auger Powerhead. This came as just the powerhead and no auger. I purchased a 8 inch auger from Harbor Freight.
This unit was built really well and performed great for a rock filled yard. Hopefully the video helps anyone on the fence about post hole augers.

Excellent review. I have that same one, and it is great. And if you are "on the fence" (like the machine is during most of the video) DO NOT be afraid of the machine hitting a root or a rock and "tearing out your arm." I have found that when it happens, the auger either stops spinning, or, the head unit starts to turn, forcing you to release the throttle and the auger stops. If you still have doubts, work with a friend holding on, facing you, and you will learn how it works and soon be on your way. You will dig this auger!
