I loved Chalky White, season 4 he goes to the highest high only to lose everything; his money, his political status, his family (especially Maybell😢). I wanted to see him come back in season 5 and whip Dr. Narcisse.
Out of the entire six season, with all the copious acts of gratuitous violence, countless murders, mamings and the deaths of characters that you'd gotten to know, one of standout tragic deaths of the show was Chalky's daughter. Not because she was popular character, she wasn't fleshed out enough for that to happen, but it was the implications of her accidental killing. The two obvious ones was Richard's end and the almost complete destruction of Chalky's life. Beyond that it had a significant ripple effect for the other powerful characters. That doesn't even get to Shakespearean tragedy of it all. A young girl, just starting on her way to life cut down by a bullet that might as well have been fired by her father. The father, meaning to take out his nemesis who was trying to take what was his, but ended up killing his daughter and hastening his own loss. And it was a sad irony that Richard had been the one that fired the bullet. We know that the killing of Angela Darmody was something that affected him greatly. Beyond the fact that they were friends and he liked her, she was an innocent. Both were Innocents that were connected to one of his very few friends; Jimmy with Angela and this girl and Chalky(i can't remember his daughters name). Everything about it was lamentable.

One of the best characters in the show hands DOWN. And how they depicted the Black Community in the 20’s is just utterly amazing. Top 3 character in the show if not my favorite.
Chalky was one of the best characters created for a series, ever. Michael K Williams was a force of nature, a brilliant actor, and is so sorely missed. A true tragedy.
He told Nucky that he was running with a crew robbing banks and whatnot. Said they "left him ass in the wind.", and he had to do some time. This was said during that meeting when Nuck told him not to pursue Narcisse.
Chalky was far and away my favorite character on the show. His monologue with his daddy's tools and the KKK guy was actor Michael K. Williams' shining moment in the series. When I heard that he had died my heart ached....what a singular talent.
@@loudnclearvoiceovers4141 he didn't overplay it. it was a very measured performance. ..but that was his consistent approach to the character throughout the series, he played him in a subtle way, and when he did need to turn it up a notch, the contrast was noticeable. ..but that was deliberate and by design... he was a masterful actor.
i feel so sad every time i see him now. such a loss. way too young to go for something so stupid. RIP man. i would have loved to have seen him play Bass Reeves.
Chalky goin out with his whole world in shambles was tough to watch. Fantastic cinema. Every few years I rewatch Boardwalk Empire but it hits harder on chalkys death scene because Micheal Williams is actually deceased now. Rip to Micheal Williams. An amazing and complex man he was 🙏
I hated Chalky's ending but i get why they did it. First, the main lesson in the show is that crime doesnt pay in the long run. Every character had karma come back to them in some shape or form. He was a community figure but also a serial murderer, so he had to pay for that. Also, he was such a powerful character they had to nerf him somehow . Being in love isnt rational, but a common weakness in men
The most tragic thing about Chalky is him as a father realizing his daughter is a stupid little girl into the gangster types. She had an amazing young man in front of her eyes and you saw the pain in his eyes when he realized where she was headed. I mean he even realized what an even more exceptional human being that kid was when he defied Chalky to treat the man who slashed his face.
Bad deal that the actor who played Chalky passed. That stuff has a way of coming back on you for keeps. However Williams I think it is left us with the knowledge the he made his mark in this world. That is truly what men seek to do their whole lives.
Roughly between season 4 and season 5, Chucky was running his own bootleg business without any of the strong backing that he had previously with Nucky. Unfortunately it looks like he was caught and sentenced to the chain gang. During this time, he's completely cut off from his family and community. Basically he's lost everything.
I was in the standoff scene against Chalky, as one of Gyp's bodyguards. I have to say not only a great actor but was a really nice gentleman.
What a horrible loss to have him go at his age, he must be one of the most talented actors of his generation and I wish we got to see more of his top tier screen presence.

Yeah Michael K Williams stated he channeled a very deep spirit for this scene. One of his best ever. Thank you for watching
@@loudnclearvoiceovers4141 he didn't overplay it. it was a very measured performance. ..but that was his consistent approach to the character throughout the series, he played him in a subtle way, and when he did need to turn it up a notch, the contrast was noticeable. ..but that was deliberate and by design... he was a masterful actor.
you should do a story on eli thompson or the the whole darmody family inclding the commdore
Yes.. I am working on a video on the Darmody’s now. It’s gonna be a long one🤣🤣 Thanks for watching boss
what date is it suppose to come that chalky vs narcisse video was fucken badass loved how you put it all together@@loudnclearvoiceovers4141
I liked this breakdown, thanks!
Hell yeah, thanks for watching bro
awesome video. anything to do with boardwalk empire is awesome indeed.
I agree brotha, Thank you for watching👍🏾🙏🏾
You have a cool narration voice bro. Subbed
I appreciate that fam
Great video. Watched a lot of Empire shorts. Never an episode.
Thanks.
"Well, I ain't buildin' no bookcase..."
Bro, found this by accident, watched whole thing, dope! Good job and appreciated. Thx. Liked & sub
Nice take. R.I.P. MKW❤
i feel so sad every time i see him now. such a loss. way too young to go for something so stupid. RIP man. i would have loved to have seen him play Bass Reeves.
Chalky was my fauvorite!!!
Boardwalk empire was best mafia film, so much great characters. Characters what make other characters great too.
Chalky goin out with his whole world in shambles was tough to watch. Fantastic cinema. Every few years I rewatch Boardwalk Empire but it hits harder on chalkys death scene because Micheal Williams is actually deceased now. Rip to Micheal Williams. An amazing and complex man he was 🙏
Damn. That jets Jersey just had me😂 #birdgang
😬😬😁😁😁
Awesome channel brotha!
The costume designer was so good in this series, so true to the time
Chalky White is one of my favorite characters in all of fiction.
I shot a cover of that tool set monologue on my TikTok awhile back. Heavy scene, extremely meaty to act.
Michael Williams said that was his favorite scene to act out, thanks for watching
Being in love isnt rational, but a common weakness in men
Great actor. RIP😢
Did you do a vid on Narcisse yet? I would love to hear your take on his hypocritical ass. I just subbed.... good shit.
Yes I have my man. I hope you enjoy it👍🏾🙏🏾
Excellent actor 👏👏👏
Great actor. I'll miss him in his craft.
May he rest in peace🙏🏾
I loved him in this better then any other role he had ...terrible loss of life
Some actors are just at home playing BA characters and elevate every role they’re in.
Yes RIP. I remember him as Ray Ray on The Sopranos (S 3 E 13) where he gave Jackie Jr a place to hide...
They should do a mini-series on Chalky White. R.I.P. Michael K. Williams.🙏🏼
Chalky and Eddie were my favorite characters.
My heroes coming up were Jimmy Cagney, Edward G.Robinson and Humphrey Bogart, so you know I love an underdog story. It’s mother’s milk to me. 📺
Was Chalkie White Omar Littles Grandfather? Could be . 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Could be
Bad deal that the actor who played Chalky passed. That stuff has a way of coming back on you for keeps. However Williams I think it is left us with the knowledge the he made his mark in this world. That is truly what men seek to do their whole lives.
My favorite (until) u broke down Narcise; just keep it up !!!
Most definently.
Chalky was my 2nd favorite character behind Harrow.
He was the most likable character. Loyalty.
They came at the KING and didn't miss‼
Chalky died for the woman he loved , which to give up your life for the one you love is to be proud of and he was with his daughter
Chalky over Big Al by KO in the first round.
😂😂😂Fair enough
Who did the wardrobe and costume? Any programs or show with such well dressed Black men who are not criminals?
... closest thing to a decent human being amongst the gangsters on the show.
Great video
His name was "Narcisse" for a reason (obviously talking about Jeffrey Wright's character) 🤔
He was great in this show!
Roughly between season 4 and season 5, Chucky was running his own bootleg business without any of the strong backing that he had previously with Nucky. Unfortunately it looks like he was caught and sentenced to the chain gang. During this time, he's completely cut off from his family and community. Basically he's lost everything.
"Well... I ain't building no bookcase..."
Hardest line in the show
I sure as hell liked the dual 1911's chalky had.
Chalky & Daughter=James St Patrick & Angela from Power
Idk Ghost and Angie knew each other way before the show. Thank you for watching
@@loudnclearvoiceovers4141 Ghost & Chalky both got distracted by their mistress and lost their daughters.
