the sopranos felt like no other shows out there. the events happening in the series felt random which gave them realisim, I really loved that and especially at the end of the show when they were at war. no character was safe and bloodshed was everywhere. unlike other shows where some characters are untouchable they killed off bobby, silvio might be dead too and even tony himself. sorry for bad english

Anyone else notice how Eugene Pontacorvo wasn't mentioned, yet had quite a role to play. Considering the Members Only jacket playing a pivotal role after trying to pay his way out of the family before feeling compelled 2 kill himself when denied. After his wife's remarks about Tony, its obvious ( to me) that It was Gene who had Tony killed an eye for an eye.
@bakashinji Eugene wanted to pay his way out of the mob. He got refused, and payed to have Tony clipped. The guy was wearing a members only jacket that Eugene used to sport. Next scene is blackness. Eugene had to have atleast a hand in it

What’s hilarious and still spot on is how I know dudes who watch the show, feel enlightened from watching the therapist scenes. They say it gave them perspective and something to consider. Meanwhile, these same dudes have a wide array of issues that severely impact their lives, which prompted me recommending them going to therapy but they get so defensive/angry and claim therapy doesn’t work and it isn’t a cure all.

This series I can’t put as good , even great or excellent after the rewatch. I thought this show would age after the rewatch. This series is perfect. 10/10. 100%. Zero bad episodes. I loved this show when I originally watched it, this is a timeless classic. Best show of the 2000’s.
Tony was definitely wacked in that diner at the very end, just in time for Meadow to witness it. Tragic, but you’d expect nothing less than that. There are a few reasons that’s the case but chief among them is that at the beginning of the final season Tony discussed the fact that being assassinated would be quick and just cutting to darkness
one thing that bugged me was that both Carmela and A.J. looked nervous and kinda sus when they entered the diner, and this could have been a coincidence but neither of them sat at the right of Tony, leaving an empty seat for Meadow that was conveniently late, so the hitman could had a clear shot once he exited the restroom. For years this made me think that they set him up. Anyway, the writer explained many times that anyone can picture what he wants to (it's a beautiful finale indeed, but clearly anyone that closes his series with a cut to black and say "now finish it how you want" took the easy path)
The reason the series ended like it did was because Chase, the actors and the studio were in discussions for a possible Sopranos feature film. If the check was big enough and Gandolfini had lived Tony would have been fine in that diner.
@@NekoHibaCosplay Yeah, Meadow was his guardian angel. If she wasn't so bad a parallel parking I think the guy coming out of the toilet wouldn't risked the shot and waited for another opportunity.
Christopher is his COUSIN by marriage but Tony refers him as his nephew because he looked up to Christopher’s father as a brother… Gotta get these things right 😅
I didn't have cable, so never watched The Sopranos when on HBO. HOWEVER, when A&E picked it up, their promotion was insane. They had, pre-airing, a game where you could get points for predicting how many times Carmela, Tony, etc.would wear gold jewelry, or Tony would smoke a cigar, or someone would drink booze, and the like. Of course, ppl who had seen it before would win easily, but I found it fun to play. That promo really hooked me - even though The Sopranos had come and gone as a cultural phenomenon. I love the series and have watched it many, many times! Use quotes from it ...a lot. Your recap is terrific! And that "cut to black" STILL makes me teary-eyed...always. Thank you!
Wait what? You never even watched the sopranos and yet you watched this video and labeled it “the best show ever” 🤔why don’t you just watch the show lad? It truly is great
Yep. Tony gets whacked in the diner. Assumably by the guy who walks past him into the bathroom as he had the clearest shot. Tony wanted to see his daughter one more time before he was possibly killed so he didn’t care about being whacked in the end.
No series as big as The Sopranos these days, will ever take such a risk on an ending like The Sopranos did. Talk about ballsy. Fantastic. What a series. Genuinely feel a little lost when finishing the complete boxset. Never have I ever become so invested in the characters and the lives they lived.
The ending is also a reference to when bobby bacala is talking about death and how you dont even realise it, and everything just goes black. The ending was originally meant to be a parallel to Tonys introduction where he would keave mew Jersey for a meeting in new York where he would get killed
Season 3 felt incomplete to me. There isnt a season long plot line of someone threatening Tony's position of boss like the other seasons, there was Ralph, but he was still being set up. I bet the season antagonist was suppose to be Livia but was changed due to the actress's real world death. I genuinely believe if that didn't happen season 3 might have been one of the best seasons of the show.
Never watched a single episode, but have watched hundreds of clips throughout the years. Thanks for this video; it pulled all those individual scenes into context for me and it was a hell of a ride.

Breaking Bad and sopranos are tied at my all time favorite shows. I’m glad you covered 2 of the best moments in the series. 1. When Christopher and Paully get lost and 2. When Adriana gets whacked
What’s your top ten? For me it’s 1. The wire 2. Game of thrones 3. Mr robot 4. Dark 5. The boys 6. Breaking bad 7. Succession 8. Yellowstone 9. Stranger things 10. Sopranos Honorable mentions Mad men Better call Saul Dexter
I’d place that as second most important takeaway. First would be the number of years Phil spent in the can, a number I can’t remember right now because it wasn’t mentioned very often
you say Chris and Paulie ended up in the Pine Barrens after a "hit gone wrong" but it was a collection gone wrong that would have been fine except for Paulie stupidly antagonizing the Russian they were collecting the money from...but it's a hit gone wrong in the sense that once they decided they would kill him they were comically inept
"The Sopranos" is such a classic in the world of TV series! It's amazing how it blends drama, complex characters, and a deep dive into the psyche of its protagonists. The journey from Season 1 through Season 6 offers a rich tapestry of storytelling that captivates audiences. It's always intriguing to see how different seasons contribute to the overall arc of a series, especially with a show as nuanced as "The Sopranos". Recapping the entire series and explaining the ending must be quite the endeavor, considering the depth and layers of the narrative!
Man it feels like I just watched the entire series all over again! Brilliant recap! I felt the cringe tho when I thought you'd hit on Melfi's assault and she chose not to take revenge on her attacker using Tony (Employee of the Month?). Fortunately, you didn't touch that. :)
I didn't take uncle Jun refusing to rat in Tony as being petty and not wanting to recognize Tony as boss, I took it with the framing of Jr having respect for Tony and upholding omerta
It's a tad frustrating to hear people constantly ask "DID TONY DIIIIEEEE?" What does it matter? Whether he got killed right there and then, or however long from that point, it all comes to an end. This all gets somewhat answered in the scene with Bobby Bacala and Tony in the boat on the lake: you probably don't even hear it when it happens. Or when Tony says most either end up in the can or on the embalming table.
@@ollie-pn1ql @david_the_noob_0422 fair! I think great stories give us the freedom of interpretation. Another point is that stories are just blocks of time in peoples' lives: you join in part way through it, and you leave at another part. That's also what this could be.
I promise if you start watching the show from Season 3 ep11 "Pine Barrens" to the finale, then start watching from season 1-3 afterward the show is way better

Livia,Carmela and Janice all in their own ways were just as dangerous or even more so than the men. Livia telling Junior" she didn't know Brendan" and his murder started a domino effect on Junior's crew AND the family being decimated, Carmela not only being com plicit in Tony's action but also affection how he made decisions within his crew (questioned Vito,Paulie and Christopher to Tony) and Janice went from acting sneaky and stubborn like Johnny Boy to also being more like Livia towards the end
This video shows how well the show was written. Thanks for this
Really not Gunna mention Phil did 20 years?
Eatin’ grilled cheese offa the radiator.
@MrMonkchuck Charles Schwab over here
Half way through the vid, and this is excellent work!!
It's crazy, binge watching this within a couple weeks. I barely remember a lot of this on my own... Great video. Nice work!
I don't think binge watching shows is good if you want to really take it all in and remember it all. Gonna watch this again I guess 🤷
Did you end up watching it again? It's kind of a tough rewatch IMO mostly because it's a slow burn and it's a bit tricky to sit through the hours of character building scenes again already knowing the input and outputs.
the sopranos felt like no other shows out there. the events happening in the series felt random which gave them realisim, I really loved that and especially at the end of the show when they were at war. no character was safe and bloodshed was everywhere. unlike other shows where some characters are untouchable they killed off bobby, silvio might be dead too and even tony himself. sorry for bad english
Janice was getting passed around like a blunt 😭
I can honestly say sopranos and the wire are tied for the greatest written series ever
Deep... The Wire is my next Series to Bindge watch.. just finished Sopranos last week or so.. I heard how good the wire is but never saw it, nor power.. so I suppose I have a nice line up waiting
@@ColinoDeani the wire has a slow buildup just like the sopranos once season 3 hits all hell literally breaks loose. So much murder, corruption, and betrayal
@@MyNameisMyName25 they written so beautifully tho
Breaking Bad
@@nghakakhalthang8062breaking bad is certainly top ten just like the sopranos is. The best show ever is the wire though
One of the greatest shows of all time!
Without question
crazy, that's the summation of the show but even that is not enough to fully grasp how amazing the show was. you have to watch it yourself then before you know it, you're fully invested in these truly unhinged characters. peak fiction right here
Correction the pine barens thing wasn't a hit they went there to collect money and the guy ended up with the luggage
Best. Show. Ever..🔥
Seasons 2 & 3 are flawless..
That title belongs to the wire, but the sopranos is nothing to sneeze at either. The sopranos is a masterpiece in its own right
I've seen a few of your vids now. This is a great series that I caught very late due to not having HBO. Excellent recap and vid!
I don’t really watch tv shows or movies I watch a lot of documentaries and RUclips videos but this show was fantastic
How was Eugene able to order a hit on Tony after he killed himself lmao
@bakashinji Eugene wanted to pay his way out of the mob. He got refused, and payed to have Tony clipped. The guy was wearing a members only jacket that Eugene used to sport. Next scene is blackness. Eugene had to have atleast a hand in it
Eugene killed himself. I doubt if he was planning to have Tony killed he would bother to kill himself. Maybe his wife or something.
@@andrewfletcher8461My old man wore a Members Only jacket. Maybe he clipped Tony, eh?
@bakashinji That's the 'genius' (atleast to you)part. He paid for the killing of Tony but hung himself knowing he couldn't get away with it before the truth came out. Grow a brain it's not that far fetched. Atleast to some
Y’know I never knew until just now that it was Silvio who owned the Bing and not Tony. I always thought it was a Tony owned front business.
Great interpretation of the ending, instead of debating if he got shot or not, you described the purpose and meaning of the ending
The whole therapist thing is what elevated this show to perfection in my opinion. Way ahead of its time
What’s hilarious and still spot on is how I know dudes who watch the show, feel enlightened from watching the therapist scenes.
They say it gave them perspective and something to consider.
Meanwhile, these same dudes have a wide array of issues that severely impact their lives, which prompted me recommending them going to therapy but they get so defensive/angry and claim therapy doesn’t work and it isn’t a cure all.
Hey man, I gotta say I appreciate that you did this recap pretty square, and did not try to make it funny or get cute with the editing. Some recaps are loaded with bad jokes, and I just have to turn them off. Your way is better, and much appreciated.
This series I can’t put as good , even great or excellent after the rewatch. I thought this show would age after the rewatch. This series is perfect. 10/10. 100%. Zero bad episodes. I loved this show when I originally watched it, this is a timeless classic. Best show of the 2000’s.
Good job one of the best explanations from top to bottom..
Glad there were no spoilers in this.
You know tony is crazy when his therapist HAS TO SEE her own therapist tlo 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 funniest line i heard all year😂😂😂
Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.
I've passed on this video for a long time, but not tonight. This truly a great summary of the show.
Too bad the actor died in front of his real child in real life
one thing that bugged me was that both Carmela and A.J. looked nervous and kinda sus when they entered the diner, and this could have been a coincidence but neither of them sat at the right of Tony, leaving an empty seat for Meadow that was conveniently late, so the hitman could had a clear shot once he exited the restroom.
@@MJ-we9vubullshit. He died in the diner
Today is the "SOPRANOS full series recap" kinda night
Christopher is his COUSIN by marriage but Tony refers him as his nephew because he looked up to Christopher’s father as a brother… Gotta get these things right 😅
THAT WAS A MARVELOUS RECAP OF "THE SOPRANOS." IT ANSWERED A LOT OF MYSTERIES AND CONFUSION FOR ME. THANK YOU. ❤
Amazing breakdown
Thank you!
Because of you i was able to watch the greatest tv series ever in 20 minutes. You are a hero sir.
Wait what? You never even watched the sopranos and yet you watched this video and labeled it “the best show ever” 🤔why don’t you just watch the show lad? It truly is great
Sorry, but that wasn't the ending explained.
Tony dies in the diner. Period. It is not an open ending. Even David Chase said so
Yep. Tony gets whacked in the diner. Assumably by the guy who walks past him into the bathroom as he had the clearest shot. Tony wanted to see his daughter one more time before he was possibly killed so he didn’t care about being whacked in the end.
@@qthestruggler2715but who wachekd Tony? Is the real question
No series as big as The Sopranos these days, will ever take such a risk on an ending like The Sopranos did. Talk about ballsy. Fantastic. What a series.
Genuinely feel a little lost when finishing the complete boxset. Never have I ever become so invested in the characters and the lives they lived.
Then we just watch it again...RIGHT?
@@MagesseT1 no wtf unless i get brain damage no rewatch can bring me the same amount of joy
That’s why I feel like they ended Breaking Bad in such a neat little bow, because they didn’t want the same scrutiny
crazy that Tony was so messed up that his therapist had to start seeing a therapist
Borkos not gonna like this
Never watched a single episode, but have watched hundreds of clips throughout the years. Thanks for this video; it pulled all those individual scenes into context for me and it was a hell of a ride.
The final scene was hard to watch but it was also one of the best takes... I liked how they filmed it similar to The God Father scene.
I'm late to this show. 20 years old and I only started to binge watch 2.months ago. Love it. Half way thru series 6 as of today, once finished I'll be watching all the Sopranos related stuff here on RUclips. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💥💥💥💥💥
Breaking Bad and sopranos are tied at my all time favorite shows. I’m glad you covered 2 of the best moments in the series. 1. When Christopher and Paully get lost and 2. When Adriana gets whacked
What’s your top ten? For me it’s
1. The wire
2. Game of thrones
3. Mr robot
4. Dark
5. The boys
6. Breaking bad
7. Succession
8. Yellowstone
9. Stranger things
10. Sopranos
Honorable mentions
Mad men
Better call Saul
Dexter
Great recap, friend
The most important takeaway is that tony never had the makings of a varsity athlete
I’d place that as second most important takeaway. First would be the number of years Phil spent in the can, a number I can’t remember right now because it wasn’t mentioned very often
Twenty fookin years@@mullet75
I appreciate this. Only through Covid I could actually sit and run through some series but not everything of course.
I'm pretty sure that wasn't an easy task to do and a little over 20 mins too. Thanks for the recap!
Thank you for this!
you say Chris and Paulie ended up in the Pine Barrens after a "hit gone wrong" but it was a collection gone wrong that would have been fine except for Paulie stupidly antagonizing the Russian they were collecting the money from...but it's a hit gone wrong in the sense that once they decided they would kill him they were comically inept
3:24 It's not a retirement home, it's a nursing community!
There will never be another show to grace the Nation’s Television.Ever!
That makes no sense
Man it feels like I just watched the entire series all over again! Brilliant recap! I felt the cringe tho when I thought you'd hit on Melfi's assault and she chose not to take revenge on her attacker using Tony (Employee of the Month?). Fortunately, you didn't touch that. :)
It was a masterful episode between Bracco's featured acting and that cold ending.
I didn't take uncle Jun refusing to rat in Tony as being petty and not wanting to recognize Tony as boss, I took it with the framing of Jr having respect for Tony and upholding omerta
Great video. Sopranos was a one of my favorites shows. ✌🏻💖🌺
Great video, Analysis of the seasons is succinct ❤
That time when his fever broke and he realised he had to 'off' his friend was really terrifyingly tense the first time around 😬
3 o’clock…. The best ending to any show there will ever be. All the clues are there. Now days everything is spoon fed to audiences. SAD
Christopher is a Real One for tellin Tony his GF was informing on them. Thats definitely tough to do though....
Tony died when the screen goes black imo
@@ollie-pn1ql he def did to me as well
@@ollie-pn1ql @david_the_noob_0422 fair! I think great stories give us the freedom of interpretation. Another point is that stories are just blocks of time in peoples' lives: you join in part way through it, and you leave at another part. That's also what this could be.
Oh, Meadow Soprano. You got me through many lonely teenage evenings, lol. Such a smoke show.
I wanted to watch the series, I compromised, I watched a 20 minute recap instead
I did too. Also watched it while sitting on the raddiator
Now "you gotta watch da series, right? Cuz dat's what we DO in dis ting of ours..."
I promise if you start watching the show from Season 3 ep11 "Pine Barrens" to the finale, then start watching from season 1-3 afterward the show is way better
THE greatest show ever
