Aba you got the right idea with downloading the mp3s and shit because the amount of times I have the album “downloaded” on Spotify for offline/no network scenarios… just for it to not even load when I’m off camping or in the backcountry where reception is super spotty. Spotify does keep your listening record though so I can look back at what albums I was into back in 2015, 2017, etc. When I listen to artists I’m not familiar I usually just throw myself off the deep end and try and listen to a whole album by the artist, like you said it makes finding the gems more rewarding, plus you come to enjoy other tracks in the process that you wouldn’t have discovered had you just listened to the big hits.
