Nope. Not at all, the chinese group were filming him literally from the beginning. They then demanded he delete his footage of them? HUH? You can see one chinese guy with a camera on him and the other chinese lady filming him right after. Then they threatened to sue him, called him rahcist and pretended like the dude was a predator trying to harm the girl.
These people are a whole heap of garbage & you wanna say the british man is an a-hole? British man is 1000% in the right here & these people got exposed.

There was just a misunderstanding, In JAPAN, a democratic country they ALSO have strict laws regarding privacy of image, as well as the public sentiment in relation to it. If you watch Japanese TV and they are filming, let's say, a traffic accident, or an youtuber is filming outdoors or in a public space you'll see that they blur the faces of passersby. It's not only the law, it's the public perception all throughout Asia (again, even in democratic country) that people shouldn't film other people, without their consent, even in public spaces, and put it online for everybody to see. They fell it as an invasion of their privacy. That, if explained, could easily be solved by him agreeing in blurring their faces in the final edit of the video. That literally has nothing to do with dictatorship and that mothafoka saying stupid and racist things as saying that the Chinese flag is ' "communist flag" was unnecessary and if I, as a Brazilian, saw that act of RACISM of his part I'd head-kick him cold on the floor for that. One thing does NOT justify the other. That guuy was an Ass%%le and would be treated like that for ALL of us in the Global south.

How dare they try to tell someone to not do something they are fully, legally entitled to do. They should be face disciplinary action and made to take training on the actual law.

The ironic thing is that the only thing that the only cultures who seems to be considered ok to not cater to and even disrespect in the UK are the western and European ones and even then there seems to often be a hierarchy. The English are ok to be made fun of as a culture by the Irish, but the other way around is bad, though feel free to look down upon/make fun of the yanks, that sort of thing. The western world in general really needs to stop with this whole “punching up is justified but no punching down” as it’s clearly just become corrosive and arguably hypocritical. Either everybody should be fair game, or nobody should, preferably the former.

Make sure you don't be disrespectful, let alone racist, to people to are being extremely polite towards you, even if you think their request is unreasonable, otherwise you WILL have problems even in democracies like Japan or Brazil. The request, even if you don't agree with that, could be EASILY filled with not much a hassle by simply editing the video. He could exercise his right and respect other people's culture at the same time. There was really NO conflict. But he chose to be a racist. So he should have been treated as a racist should always be treated. He should be THANKFUL he get away with it unscathed. If I or most Brazilians were there, he wouldn't. Americans and Europeans should STOP thinking their way of thinking is always superior. Even if BY FORCE.

The fucked part is I lived in China for 2 years, and would be filmed and have pictures taken of me all the time. So where were my privacy rights? Even worse is a couple asked me and my visiting family near Tiananmen Square to take our photo and we said no. I was pissed but my family thought since they said no, it was no big deal, but they learned lol. The woman just walked in front of us and the husband took her picture with us all in the background. See, they were getting their picture one way or another. And yea my mom felt so disrespected. We were hiding our faces as we realized but the lady ran to different angles to get us and we had do get as far away from them. I have had people ask politely, and if it was a kid, i would say yes occasionally.
But with the amount of joke videos making fun of black people, saying we wash our hair in the toilet, we don't feel the cold because of our dark skin, the museum exhibition in 2017 comparing African tribespeople to animals (and no, it isnt a compliment in their culture, but it is an easy excuse, as the pictures were not flattering images), posting skin lightening ads on Taobao with black influencers who have no clue their image is being used to sell a product showing how effective their "product" is by editing their skin lighter, practically white, I hope EVERYONE sees their images. Who the hell walks in front of a camera pointed elsewhere, looks in the lens and says, "please, no. I dont want this"?

True BUT you can be sued on HOW you use the material if it can be proven to be defamatory or further infringing on a person's right to privacy (which again, has to be proven). For example, if you film or record a person's private conversation (like they were whispering or speaking quietly to another to establish an expectation of privacy) in public without their consent and then use that material for monetary gain or for defamatory reasons, you can get in trouble.
A conversation like this one in the vid, is not breaking right to privacy because they're talking quite loudly and with others not under the same need for discretion.

You drive on a specific side of the road because thats what everyone else does. If tomorrow, 98% of people swapped what road they drove on, you would follow. And why wouldnt you?

This is a famous piano in St.Pancras International Station in London. It was gifted to the station in 2016 by Sir Elton John when he did a surprise performance there.
It is encouraged for musicians to use it and any Londoner would be unsurprised to see someone filming there. Very famous artists show up every now and again to do a session (e.g. John Legend).
Utterly ridiculous that people travel to another country and expect their laws and regulations to be effective elsewhere.

If this guy wasnt recording the "private security" police officers would have charged him for a hate crime, GBH and probably 100 other things. Imagine telling a civilian to stop recording and then levelling an accusation at him after. Crazy

100%, the second she told him to stop recording I knew she wanted to try and threaten him with some bullshit that isn't law, and didn't want evidence of her doing it, since every time they try this people justifiably get pissed at our police.
Always film an encounter with UK police.

As a Chinese who also lives abroad l feel so shame. This whole thing is ridiculous,if you don’t want to be filmed why still show up although no one wants to film you… also these people even hold the Chinese flag trying to “spread” Chinese culture but what they did is just make more hate comes to us. @@DarldDale To be fair, he didn't need to say "we're not in China" as that's a bit condescending.
All he needed to do is just say in the UK I am free to film in a public space and that's it.
If they had said something like "in my country you would be arrested for this", then fair enough.
