Excellente tutorial, I love the way you repeat the tecnique over and over allowing for the viewer to understand, whether they learn at a fast or slow pace. You rock! :-)

I always wondered what combo the Djs were using. Thank you so much for simplifying and crystallizing the technique. I learn a lot from your video

I have spend 2 hours trying to understand what combo did you make at 6:46 and still have no clue. Sounds really nice though, would it be possible to tell me what's the structure of it ? Thanks

@@souallealexandre5556 it seems to just be the combo she's teaching but with an actual couple of chirps thrown in the middle

Great video as usual Shortee. One video I think you could do that not many people have covered is the basics of scratches. Or tips covering how to improve your scratches as a whole. Showing people how you hold the cross fader and to kill the bass when scratching. Stuff like that.

Question: Shoudln't your crossfader be closed on the right side when ur deck is on the left side? Your setup can't work with a DJ controller, right?

By using the fingers to cut the crab to (off) I always thought this would affect the rhythm as I use my fingers to turn the sound on so my brain is wired to see this at the (on tap) not an (off) tap.
Am I goofey here or is this normal?

The combo at 8:16 is a classic combo, the first one i've learned way back. But i do it different... funny to see!

this is dj shortee shes been doin it since the 90s its is a scratch that defintly takes practice have your fingers pushing it down why your thumb pushes it out inbetween your finger

Awesome as always, Short-E! I don't use hamstermode, so I'm wondering how to get to an open fader after the crab. I tried to use hamstermode, but I don't get it. I think my thumb is to weak ;) Maybe I have to use 4 fingers to end with an open fader? Anyway, thank you for the akai-usb-stick and keep up the good work!

Is here some sort of rule for left and right handed? since i am right handed and using my right hand on the record. also one more question, for crab thumb makes sound on while you cut the sound with the other fingers? i saw some people use thumb for cut sound and other fingers to make sound on crossfader! wich one is better?

  • @jazzroom

i am scratching with crossfader normal position, and i find it extremely difficult to start and finish open crab . i've tried the "hamster" reversed crossfader and its for some reason easier to do open crab that finishes on fader open...? how to achieve same crab on "normal " crossfader?

i notice that u dont use serato for your Videos ... How du u feel about serato or digital scratch samples being used for scratching? I've been following your techniques an I admit im amateur at scratching but i swear i dont get as much of an accurate (sound to movement ratio) as u du in your vids . would love ur opinion... N keep up the good Dj tutalage we are listening... #Peace N Party. Heff

I meant how did you move your hand on the record for the chirp scratch. You move it so fast and the way it sounds it's dope. I'm trying to get the chirp like that but I can't figure it out how to do it.
