me again, after a few months of practice I am doing the combo almost consistant , it is a long combo and the struggle is more about not losing where you are in the combo Than doing it clean over a beat. Man TY again for this tutorial.
Love to hear that you’re grinding it out 💪🏾 you’re more than welcome man!
We need to learn to do it over a beat . I guess it is over 4bars because there is 10 baby scratch.
I got here from reading a comment about the "rolling" technique used in Tetris for pressing the buttons 20+ times per second. Pretty random...but this is a cool video 😁
Finally a true BREAKDOWN 🔥Respects brother🙏
No doubt bro! Appreciate the comment and support 🙏🏾💯
The kind of breakdown I’ve been looking for thanks so much for this tutorial, it’s owesome👍
Thank you man, really appreciate it! 🙏🏾
great video, thanks
You’re welcome 🙏🏾
Thanks a lot , most well explained Crab technique video I've found
Love to hear it! 🙏🏾
Always taking this flights, I can’t believe I had missed this one
Bro you don’t know how much I appreciate you 🙏🏾🙌🏾 Your videos have great breakdowns on how to do everything!
🙏🏾💯💯 thank you bruh for the support and for watching!
Thank you! This movie is so simple, short and understandably!!
Glad you picked it up quickly 🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is awesome!
Appreciate you!! 🙏🏾
Great tutorial!
🙏🏾🙏🏾 thank you!
Hey thats an easy explanation/instruction of the crab. When I first tried this my thumb gave me so much trouble, it would finish the first three movements and just sit there wanting to be a spectator. Wish I had this video when I was learning, would have been easier. 😀😀😀👍👍👍👍
I definitely had a lot of trouble with the crab technique at first!! Glad I could help 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you DJLiftoff!!! Awesome!
You’re more than welcome!! 💯
the crab movement is in fact a natural hand movement. Its called the inside hand roll and it is known for stimulating the human brain.
Really, very interesting. I suppose after getting it down, it does feel pretty natural!
And now that I think about, I definitely did the “hand roll” from pinky to index finger on the table growing up.
LiftOFF, you have the best tutorials period. I still havent learn this scratch. Ho wmany months and how much hours of practice did it take for you?
Appreciate you 🙏🏾🙏🏾 - I don’t remember the exact amount of time but it was tough to learn for sure. I would estimate a few months to get it down decently solid. I still practice it to this day. What helped me most was doing it at slower bpms cleanly, first
Love these tutorials
🙏🏾🙏🏾 appreciate the support!
Needed this tutorial
Glad I could help 🙏🏾💯
That's a closed fader crab right? I sucked at crab scratching, still do, however it improved significantly after I started practicing the open fader crab scratching
Never heard the term closed fader crab but that makes sense. I think I’ve seen the way you’re talking about it be done too! Whichever is easier 💯
@DJLiftOFF it means you start and finish with the fader open, it adds an additional sound to the begging and end, it helps a lot us beginners, but more experienced people like you are OK with the fader closed
Big up Champion 🖖🏿
🙏🏾🙏🏾💯
Great as usual. You are a natural teacher my man. Keep it up...
Much appreciate Ryan. Thanks for the continued support! 🙏🏾
wow thanks
You’re very welcome 🙏🏾
Cool 😎
🙏🏾👌🏾
you mad me realize that you have to double the first finger and the last one......and sing it in our head 1-2-3-3-2-1-1-2-3-3-2-1......a lot of job because I pas always doing 1-2-3 1-2-3......but because of you i Will master it now. thank you so much I how you one dude. BTW I Think I need an emotional managing tutorial when things not going as fast as I want, I get so sad that I lose Energy to practice hard parts .....maybe a new video on that, I almost certain that Iam not alone in this situation. ty again dude
You’re more than welcome! And you’re absolutely right man. I even struggle with learning new techniques to this day and have to take breaks and come back to it later! It’s all part of the process and it’s easy to get discouraged but taking it a day at a time is most important. No need to rush!
Because of your answer I watched the video again and I was actually wrong. You are doing 3-2-1-3-2-1 a so on. It is easier like that ….but what do you think of practicing the crab like 1-2-3-3-2-1 ? Is is useful for further combos or to make it sound in another way or it is a pur wast of time ?
nice
Niceeeee

Hey Liftoff, curious about your first thoughts after seeing the DDJ REV 7 today.
Yo! I used a Pioneer DDJ SZ2 as my main controller for various years and loved it. Still use it from time to time to this day. Since then, I’ve really enjoyed the S9 as a battle style mixer so the REV 7 is very intriguing. I like the display in the middle of the jog wheels, and I honestly want to get my hands on one.
I like the Rane One, but I have a feeling I’ll like this one a tad bit more. And it has on board effects which is a huge plus
So true, I ordered one yesterday. After I get it, I will decide if I want to sell the Rane one or not. I just sold my DDJ SZ 2 not to long ago.
I really need to set time aside to work on my Crabs, i often only get 2 sounds using 3 or 4 Fingers LOL.
Ahahah, it took me a while too man! Lots of reps and patience.
Do you suggest raneone controller or ddj srt1000 to start off?
If you feel like you are going to want to become a scratch dj, something with moving platters would be better. I'm learning to dj on a ddj 1000 and I can see the benefits of moving platters for scratching.
You might wanna hold off a few Days till Pioneer drop the details on their new movin Platter Controller the Rev7. If the leaks are true it looks sweet, 2 7inch movin platters with an S7 mixer sandwiched between :)
@@bigdaz7272 wait shut your mouth, are you serious?
@@atypical_blk_guy Yes Bro next couple of Days Pioneer gonna drop the info. Search DDJ Rev7
💯💯💯
I’m right handed, but the crab scratch is the only scratch technique I’m better at left handed 🤷🏾♂️
Wow, interesting. I’m right handed and can’t do transformers or the crab with my left hand on the cross fader. That’s the next thing I’m really working on.
