  • This is an unboxing and review of the ‪@elgato‬ Wave Mic Arm, a wonderfully solid, well thought out and feature rich microphone arm that's a joy to use.
    Highlights of the Elgato Wave Mic include a clever design with a solid mounting. It has a brilliant cable management system that lets you hide the cables away. There's a ball head mount which means it's easy to get your mic into any position. The riser system means you can get it up and off the desk, even over your monitor. There's a counterweight included so you can compensate for the mic's weight and it also has 1/4" to 3/8" and 1/4" to 5/8" Adaptors so you can fit the majority of mics.

    I know this video is a year old, but just wanted to let you or anyone else know that between those two channels for hiding the cable... you pop off the covering for the joint where it bends, run the cable through and snap that cover plate back on.

    Finally! Someone show that the boom arm stop in any position that you move. This normally works good? Because I have vjimm24 and it’s horrible. Everytime to move I have to open and lock the arms after I change the position, and there is a squeeze noisy when I move the vijim24 arm

    Hello, I have a shelf above my desk and I’m trying to figure out how low the mount can go to see if I could mount this above me and have it hanging down. I wonder how far toward and down this can go?

    I got the boom arm today. And I have a problem. My arm does lowers itself even though the mic and the shock mount is 747g in total. It does not want to stay in position high enough for me to do vocals standing for example. Is there a way to stabilise it?

    Sheesh that voice! 👌 What kind of processing do you do to it? Aphex Big Bottom?
    Also, if you have a moment, would you be able to tell me the diameter of the base pin that goes into the desk clamp?

    How long of an XLR cable should I buy for the mic arm? I don't think I'll have the other end too far from my audio interface, but just in case it's at most a foot away I'm not sure if my 6 foot long XLR cable would be sufficient

      I went for a 2 meter one at first and that was enough but I really depends on your setup

    Hello Mr Prawn, I want to buy this but my table's the IKEA Malm and it's a 5cm width table. Almost all arm extensions and attachments can't be clamped on my table. This Elgato arm is supposed to be able to fit that. Do you think it's possible? Thank you

    • @CousinRoysCorner
      @CousinRoysCorner 2 года назад

      Owh also, does the HyperXQuadcast fit on this?

    • @TheProvokedPrawn
      @TheProvokedPrawn  2 года назад +1

      By width I assume you mean depth? if so, it should be fine. The desk mount is large and deep. And yes, it'll take the majority of mics.

      @@TheProvokedPrawn Awesome, its a bit pricey so I wasn't willing to "buy and try" 2 see if it fits. Thank you very much for this. Once again a big help
