Great video. In my setup, I'm using the PSA1+ and the Shure SM7B microphone. The only thing that I really didn't like was how close the xlr cable was to the screw knob. I got a four inch extension. That helped with the xlr. Also it helped with the arm being in the way of shots.
i think the reason to go with the lp is for the arm to go under your monitor. setting up a low profile arm to come from your left or right will of course limit your access of that area. But from what i ve seen it needs 16cm of clearance for both arms to be under the monitor. I wish they made the height of the base shorter :/
hey Stan, I have the EV re20 and the 309a shock mount, I want to get the RODE PSA1+ will this be ok? or do I have to get the Blue Cloud? I had been using a generic off brand arm that look like the RODE PSA1. but is a lot shorter with only about a 28inch reach. Will th Rode PSA1+ be high enough for the BIG EV re20 and shock mount? please reply quickly, thanks!!!
Thanks for the video. I'm trying to decide between the Elgato and PSA1+. I have a smaller desk with a dual monitor set up and I believe that the PSA will be more in the way of the screens as well as be more distracting in video.... However, I want to be able to use my mic standing up on occasion as well. Could you tell me the maximum height the Elgato can reach from the top of the desk? Edit: I reached out to Elgato and the arm reaches about 18" above the desk. So unless someone has a pretty tall desk, this arm could only be used when in a seated position.
My main concern is how well the various arms isolate against mechanical transmission of noise from my keyboard etc. I tried a couple of cheap ones and they even caused my arm resting on the desk to be picked up! 😲
I just bought a psa1+. I was very surprised to see it in the clip stating that the core is plastic. I hurriedly opened the box. As far as I can see, it looks like metal, not plastic, or I don't look clear. Will it be a weight problem? Sorry in my terrible English. I'm from Thailand.
Based on some of the reviews I've observed, it seems that the Elgato LP when mounted at the front of a desk isn't sturdy and/or stable enough to securely support a fairly heavy mic like the SM7B. I own a Maono PD400X (which is also a fairly heavy dynamic broadcast mic). Consequently, I'm not confident that the Elgato would suit my long term needs. Clearly, the Rode PSA+ appears sturdy and stable enough to support a fairly heavy mic in any configuration, and is extremely well made (unlike the other mics you reviewed).
Excellence review, truly exceptional. We’ll done sir. You went over all the important features without bullshitting or overvaluing.

Yes, I can't use my Elgato LP arm that way. My monitor would be too high. I ended up buying the regular Elgato arm instead.
Thanks for this review! I went with the original PSA1 (not plus), as I don't like the big RODE-text in my videos.
Your detailed review really helped me make a decision. Much appreciated!
my wave arm LP sags withe h SM7b on it, I have to tighten the knob so much!

Did you get an answer to this?
@@gunmanxii7431 The answer is in the "edit" at the end of my original comment. I went with the Rode.
I can't decide between Elgago LP and PSA1+.
Which one do you recommend for someone like me, who want tô replace the Blue Compass for Elgato or PS1+?

Thanks for the review. I was torn between the PSA1+ and the Wave Mic Arm LP. Seems like the latter will be my choice!
can you use the blue mic with the blue radius III on the elgato low profile arm?
I'm looking for long leng length mic arm, so suggest me good length mic arm?
Does anyone know if the rode nt1 can be used sideways? And which mic arm
Great Video thanks man you probably already know this but its Elgato not Elago but thanks again really appreciate
If you don't mind me asking, what is your job?
Hey man, thank you so much for the review!

I dont understand.. I have a YETI GX which should theoretically weigh more than your yeti.. yet my arm doesnt spring down at all.. What the fuck.
你那最右边的支架挺好用的,传统见到支架建议你看一看ocwhite这个牌子真材实料就是比较贵。
Great and pretty comprehensive review! However the brand is 'Elgato', might want to change that.
Good catch.
elago?
