They are the best mic arms for sure. I've tried a few. I currently use the high profile arm, but it intrudes a bit much on my webcam space. Will try the low-profile. I use it with the Shure MV7 for Zoom/Teams/etc. meetings.
So I was desperately looking for a boom arm I can use for my Shure MV7 because we only have limited options here in the PH without breaking my bank, then I saw this vid. Such a great help!
@@aodventures best buy. it doesn't say version 2 on the website and i don't think it does on the box. you just have to buy it, open it, and check if it has the knob. i'm sure elgato are only selling v2 now
RUclips happened to recommend this video to me and I'd like to thank you for showcasing the LP mic arm which brought it to my attention. Will be verifying the dimensions before getting one since they also have a white version(my PC case is white). Thanks again for the video and have a good day.
It's like Low profile or High profile, isn't there a mic arm that does both? I would like a mic arm that goes really high and then folds back down to the how low profile tucks in
Question from a local broadcaster We are looking for new Mic Arms in our local studio. This studio is used for about 15-20 hours a week. Would these Elgato arms be feasible for us? We are using Rode Broadcaster microphones which are 577 grams
I'm only 2 minutes in so far but I want to say thank you for this video! I'm currently using the Blue Compass with the Wave 1 and the arm just does not hold position, Lucky I haven't had it 2 years yet and amazon have offered a full refund. I was pretty excited to discover that elgato made an arm for this :)
Which one will you use more? If I take videos(not at home), in different rooms with different tables, which one is better, less intrusive in the video? Could you mount them eventually on a mic stand, if there is no table?
I am new to video and want to get one of these arms. I like the arms to be out of my shot when I make my videos; which would you recommend? I would like to know if they can be above my head out of frame. Thanks, great video.
The low profile one I just bought has a plastic wingnut at the 1st elbow, yours does not. It seems mine is an older model and yours has a spring within it, damn. Mine is so loud when I have to tighten the nut and doesn't stay in place unless it's tightened. Sending this back for sure.
thing is... idk where to put it when i don't need it... for example when i use it from underneath my monitor, my mic won't go underneath it and behind it... where do i put it??? please let me know if my question was understandable and reasonable because I'm tempted to buy a LP arm :) Thanks in advance!
My desk requires a grommet style hole. I have the Rode PSA-1 and was curious if the mount I have would fit the Elgato portion as I would not be able to use the clamp style they include.
I have a support bar running along the bottom of my desk near the edge that's a little bit less than 1 inch wide, do you think a mic arm would stay secure on the support bar?
Havent they changed the LPA one because i ordered mine recently and the LPA has got a fastening knob on both ends. i noticed the one in the video hasnt
i own the low profile arm. it's great and recommended, BUT i wish the magnetic plates could lock into place because i find that my xlr cable yeets them off when i adjust the height of the arm. and likewise i wish the two arm pieces could lock together as well because i sometimes yoink the entire thing in half when trying to adjust the position.
Great video! Just ordered the wave regular one. Do you know if we need to get that extension piece from Shure for the SM7B so the cable doesn't get messed up, or do not need that for the Elgato? I know for all the other ones out there, seems like that was always suggested. Would love to know, I don't see it yours here so I'm assuming not? Keep up the great work!
Very a very informative video!!! Appreciate the actual comparison part at 5:44 : ruclips.net/video/c23n2XZGCLU/видео.html I wonder how many people appreciate the unboxing, demo, and random opinion sections. Wondering if this vid needs to be a whole 11mins. Great work though!!!!
30 times this man mentioned the words “mic arm.” What an absolute legend
Your a legend bro
🤭hahahahaha I burst into laughter at that point in the video
Wtf hahahahha
Lol, you're a legend for counting
I just picked up the LP. Makes my desk look CLEAN!
Awesome comparison- I’ve heard really great things about the HP 👍

Got the LP it's nice. It also fits into the same base. Murray may have had his tightened down with a hex key? Shrug
@@brois841 can i install it in the side of the desk, because all the videos I have seen the arm is on the front?

i got the version 2 low profile mic arm. it has a knob so you don't need to use the allen wrench to adjust the height

Yeah. It would totally work! But it’s up to you and what mic arm you prefer
This video was super helpful. I think I will pick up the LP version. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the review, it was helpful
I've had the LP since they announced it. I want to see how the HP looks with my setup, but I can't justify spending another $100.
The low profile is great. I have both and they both just look so good
One of the best videos I’ve seen, thanks man

It wont damage your desk - 1:05

where did you get that nice xlr cable for the mic

Maybe some double sided tape could keep them together, but yeah would be cool to have them lock in instead of just hold with a magnet… ❤

Does it come with a screw on desk mount too? Or just the clamp 🗜?
Just the clamp I think
can you mount only the end piece on the clamp, making it shorter?
No. It’s not designed for that and it does not fit well
