    I LOVE my FoldAR's. Thanks for the review!
    I really don't understand how they aren't more popular. I know many of my team / friends were put off by the price because they didn't know how tight and squared away the guns are till they got hands on with them. Now they get it, but first-time buys can get scared off by the price. My only issues have been the gas rings on both my bolts failed very quickly / at around 1k rounds. After the ring upgrades nothing has shown weakness for years of ownership of my Gen 1's

      Maybe they aren't more popular because of the price?

    Just picked up some aac black tip ammo today (vmax bullet) for 50 cents per round. Psa starting up their aac ammo has been a real benefit to the community. I really like their ammo. They also have pmags on sale for just over $9 each.

    It's incredible how short it is... but the price is also incredible ;)
    For concealable 5.56 I would rather go with KelTec SU16D9. I know... it's a KelTec, and it will be longer than this one but it will lighter, MUCH cheaper and can fire while folded.

    Under folding ak is better imo, reason being that you can still shoot it because it's the stick that folds, doesn't have that major weak point and can still mount a red dot

    • @pewpewtactical
      @pewpewtactical  9 месяцев назад +1

      That's fair. I didn't go in this direction because the intended use is pretty clearly for a red dot of some sort--enabling that concealability.

    So 15 seconds from backpack to 1st shot...useful in a dynamic defensive scenario only if you have a sidearm that allows you to immediately return fire, create space and get to cover such that you will then have 15 full seconds to extract, assemble and deploy the rifle.
    Seems like a rare situation where it would be useful and/or crucial to your survival.
    I guess if this were mainly being used as a means to enhance concealability in non permissive environments then it might have some utility...but as a primary defensive weapon...not so much.

    • @FoldAR
      @FoldAR 9 месяцев назад

      Why not a primary weapon?

    • @user-mt5zh2pz7q
      @user-mt5zh2pz7q 9 месяцев назад

      @@FoldAR For all the reasons I just described.
      If you want a foldable weapon it's primarily because it's concealable...what good is a concealed weapon that takes 15 seconds to deploy?
      If you need a defensive weapon it needs to be able to be drawn and fired within about 2 seconds or less...preferably with only one hand in the event you are engaged in a hand to hand struggle...(in which case a folded rifle in a backpack is completely useless)
      If the environment is such that you need a rifle carried "at the ready" then the concealabilty of that rifle is no longer a factor...a standard non-folding rifle will accomplish the same thing.
      In essence the FoldAR seems to solve a problem that just isn't likely to occur.

      That's what training and practice is for. Also, realize the purpose isn't for a "quick draw" scenario that's what a CCW pistol is for. It would be more for reacting to a threat that is either at some distance or where there is cover between you and the threat or the threat's attention is on someone else.

    I just don’t trust any folding firearm, when the folding mechanism disables the weapon. It’s a built in failure point. If the folding mechanism jams, breaks or gets damaged, your weapon is useless.

      You can absolutely store it with a mag in. It comes with a 20-round magazine and that's about perfect for stowing in the bag. It's only slow-looking because I'm slow with it. There are videos out there of other folks who have spent more time with it and can get it shooting pretty quickly. With practice, you can get this thing in the fight pretty fast.
