- All explained in the vid with commentary, this is my BEGINNER'S GUIDE in Final Fantasy 7 Remake on how to defeat 1 of the many the Chapter 17 bosses, RUFUS & DARKSTAR on HARD mode easily! I showcase the build as well as my personal preferred method to beat them!

For anyone struggling with this with low mp and missed the accessory,
I used triple strike in the beginning to separate them attack dark star wash rinse when Rufus approaches,
cut scene finishes triple slash cast stop/sleep on Rufus finish off dark star.
Once the cut scene finishes you do a triple slash then dodge right away he shoots lasers timing is tight it leaves him open for braver and stagger then just finish him off.
Can be done with zero damage
Never thought putting Rufus to sleep would work. Gotta love the tips you give. Thanks.
Wow great video, i had barely 6 mp getting out of the jenova fight so the sleep thing reslly helped
Stop works on them too. If you can get a Magnify materia linked with it then you can stop them both for some very fun damage before phase 3.

Omg.. devs definitely cranks the difficulty level so much more in rebirth compared to this. But during my first playthrough in Remake, i felt like this is the hardest boss 😅
I know this video is a bit old still but I kinda wanna point out that that he normally uses Tread Softly whenever he needs to reload that way you cant attack him that is a perfect opportunity to do the limit break because it gives you I-Frames along with making contact as soon as he reloads

I'm not going to lie I found out the best way to kill him from far away is to let him get stuck doing his dash attack on the 4 sides of the crates. throw fire lightening and just wait for your abilities to recharge

Had 80 MP and honestly it took a few tries. I just used stop on Rufus wailed on the dog and used regen and the occasional curaga. Took 5 to 8 minutes maybe 10 as I just ran about healing and slowly chipping away at his health until I got a limit break.
I myself saved limit to Rufus alone and instead used triple slash against Rufus and darkstar as it splits them up and Rufus wont actually use long ranged attacks so it made the last faze against rufus alone easier by having the limit break from the start as I didnt need it at the start of the battle.

Entered this battle with 1 MP due to the MP rain drain from the Jenova battle. Cloud HP disappeared before my eyes smh...

I’m already in the end though. I can’t go back to the simulator to get that accessory without having to start the whole chapter over, correct?
Once chapter select is unlocked, you can restart the chapter from the chapter select and it is near the start
@@Optinooby yeah that sucks lol I don’t want to replay this chapter again on hard mode
its at the start of the chapter.
when using chapter select, progress is saved without completing it, u only need to complete chapters to save story changes

Sure mate, that's fair enough if you don't want to make this fight as easy as it can be. Some gamers do prefer to make things harder than they need to be for some sort of challenge. I get that and perhaps I guess no need to look at a guide in the first place if that's the case because then it kinda defeats the point

I'd strongly advise going and getting it, I have 2 vids on that.
Reason is that although the Gotterdammerung seems difficult to do at the moment, if you DON'T get it soon, you are actually making the game much harder for yourself!!!
You can't make the Top Secrets battle to get the Gotterdammerung ANY easier than it would be right now, BUT, you can make all these upcoming battles easier BY having it!!!
That's the thing, delaying it won't make it any easier, but delaying it is making the Chapter 16 onwards boss fights actually much harder

I need to watch this when i get back to this boss on Rebirth hard mode for a reminder, had no idea what to do on Rebirth easy when i came across him, just forced my way through it xD
