If pride and joy is worth a gold trophy, then hardmode hellhouse should have it's own platinum.
That shack on legs is like 17x harder man...
Target the weaknesses. My hard mode hellhouse went down pretty quick.
Same here. Pay attention to the windows colour and use the corresponding spells it's weak to.
Yeah I know, tnx anyway, it's not that I can't beat it, but compared to P&J, the HH is way harder.
I beat P&J on the first attempt (no idea what to expect and an all round materia setup, nothing planned for that battle), after 17 Bahamut retries ofcourse, and it's crazy he is so easy compared to Bahamut and hellhouse.
Pride and Joy is a cake walk, Bahamut and Ifrit on the other hand is way tougher than Hellhouse. At least initially.
after i put myself into it, i did hell house hard pretty easily, you could even kill it with just aeris normal atk lol.
The point is not. "its hard" the point is how frikking boring is to wait and the stupid god mode barrier. I think this is the only FF i dropped after playing 10 days top, its just boring because there is no content after you finish the story , the side quests are annoying, the fights are either stupidly easy or stupidly hard even against normal mobs.
You get totally owned at the start, and once you get how the monster fight, the game is not even a challenge anymore.
In other games with a better (in my opinion) fighting system, i still have fun playing them, FF15 and start ocean the last hope are 2 examples..

The only thing i would change is put element linked to fire on cloud's armor so he can stay in those fire spots at the last boss and even heal from it.
This also helps out alot in the behamut fight as you will be able to negate most if not all of ifrit's attacks.

Yes for sure! Shiva is pretty easy to kill...and its also the first fight so you can just start over.
Itz Onionknight idk about easy man, without ice elemental for me she literally heals herself at a rate to where I can’t even do any damage at all and constantly harasses our healer the split second I transition over. Small rant, but they really need to implement an actual aggro system into the combat, the fact that some big ass monster will immediately ignore people hitting and attacking it for the healer all the way in the back just for healing the crew is just unpredictable and off-putting at times

how do you switch the lock between body parts/enemies?
When Leviathan goes in the air it isn't his body parts that become immune to damage it's actually the tornadoes that block your damage
Darshawn Hill that’s exactly what happens. I hate the leviathan fight for that reason.

I was searching for a Cloud-Aerith-Barret team and your video was just what i was looking for. I tweaked my materia a little, (2 fire absorbing armors, 2 Pray and 2 Barrier materia) and though i struggled with Shiva, i managed to get that accessory. Now to finish hard mode with it! Many thnx for the help! 👏👏

Does corneo challenges have to be done on hard mode as well? Or jus the vr missions
The Corneo Challenges have only Easy and Normal Modes.
Do you know if it’s possible to beat chapter 9 on easy, do all the challenges, then switch to chapter 17 on hard and fight Pride & Joy?
I’ve already done chapter 9 three times for the bridal outfits, but didn’t know about the Aerith solo challenge... So now I have to do it a fourth time and it’s pretty frustrating to think about beating again Hell House on hard.
Happened to me too. But it was worth it at the end.
Do all 13 quests need to be done on hard mode? The 6 quests at the end are hard by default. I completed those, but did the first 7 quests on easy.

I did the no damage technique with Fury Rings my first time, this way is more traditional and makes it more enjoyable.

Would you recommend replacing Cloud with Tifa? Her Triangle attacks can raise the Staggered bonus damage to 300%.

For Leviathan, it'sthe tornado that block your attacks, he is not immune. Worst fight of the game. I hate flying fights.
why barrett and thundara/arcane is your best friend cause hes super easy to stagger. and for the tornado manaward/magnify will keep you taking way less dmg
leviathan is madd easy. bahamut whoops my ass because my hp materia aren't high level enough(and because I suck at defending vs his one hit kill mega attack)
Just fight him with Barret using the elemental and lighting tool. Use Tifa and Cloud as your primary healers.
@@baolao24 I solo'd him as cloud, easiest boss fight I've ever done. I think not having to keep two allies alive is why. Only annoying part is when you hit tornado stage.. have to wait a few minutes before he comes down to attack him again without using magic
@@KrazyKrzysztof my bahamut team was aerith, barrett and cloud. barrett was my magnify - manawall guy and backup healer w/ pray to keep aeriths mp full for big chunk heals. play the long game and survive and whittle him down. when he counts down to 1, use barretts steelskin + lifesteal then manawall. megaflare will do maybe 2k dmg to your team while barret takes 4-5k. i played it like this and survived easily then burned down ifrit and bahamut pretty fast after that.
I am struggling with 14th challenge I can get up to Bahmut but he slauters my team before I can cast a spell.
There are 2 elemental materia in the game, use one to make someone immune to fire, and one to be immune to ice, y'all can decide. Google how to get the other one, you have to do all side quests as in the 2 quests that are split one per play through in wall market
I want 3 of these. It super annoying that you cant multiple materia you really want + accessory. I dont need 2000 healing materia.
anybody knows why between the battles i recover just 50% hp and 30% mp?

I dont know why I'm struggling so badly in hard mode. I think I need to max out more of my materia or something bc some of the medium enemies are giving me more problems than the boss fights. I struggled to get the simulator in hard mode and bahamut wiped the floor with me with 2 megaflares.

How much does upgrading your weapons more help? Im on chapter 4 on hard so im hoping when i upgrade more it will help more in damaging shiva
Richard Henckel it helps a lot if you upgrade your materia. I would go to chapter 14 on easy and farm the collapsed train station to level all your materia to the max, then head to chapter 17 to do this challenge before you start your hard play through. It makes it much easier

Lendy Vi you can’t miss it. It’s between sector 5 and sector 6. When you’re leaving sector 5 going north, you will reach a “Y” intersection. Stay left and that area, is what I’m talking about. It’s the same area you get through with Aerith in chapter 8
@@LendyVi He means the Collapsed Highway with the hand cranes. A better place to farm is the start of chapter 16 in easy mode. Play to the end of the parking garage and then just restart the chapter, your stats will carry across.
funny thing while fighting P&J I summoned Bahamut toward the end of the fight (didnt need to but it was fun to see a conquered combatant fighting by my side ... Truly an anime moment.
I’d really recommend using chakra and prayer too on an alt healer just in case

For everybody who's wondering, gotterdammerung translates into "twilight of the gods."
Albertus Ryan Adrianto honestly, at first I thought it’s a play on word for GodDamnRing lol
To be more precise, "twilight of the gods" would indeed be the literal translation for Götterdämmerung. While in the FF universe, it's commonly known as "Ragnarök".
I don't know, why they went with the german word for Ragnarök in this game though. And yes, shack pronounces it totally wrong, but i don't judge him xD German is hard for non natives.
@T Doran actually, no. German is less about the pronunciation or putting gravity into certain syllables within a word. What makes german so difficult as a foreign language is the grammar. I mean, yeah, as a native german, it's hard for me to judge the difficulty of german for foreigners,.. but at least i know how german works and what makes it difficult. I would rather compare it to russian, in terms of difficulty. Mandarin is a few whole levels more difficult to learn. German has only 3 additional letters in the alphabet, to the 26 from the english one. You just don't know how to properly pronounce ä, ö and ü, but that's about it. I myself speak german, english and japanese, so i somewhat know how different languages from different continents work. And yes, i would also say, that german is the most complex one to learn out of those 3. But even speaking japanese, i'm afraid to try mandarin, if you know what i'm trying to say XD.
Gott = God (Singul.)
Götter = Gods/God's (Plural or possesive)
Dämmerung = Dawn
So that makes Götterdämmerung = Dawn of the Gods, which, as i mentioned earlier, refers to norse mythology's Ragnarök (which is more commonly known in FF universe). So you can just imagine this item in the game you get from Pride & Joy Prototype as Ragnarok, and it'll be totally fine.

...why did you link fire to warding materia? That doesn't actually do anything, did you mean two link them to Elemental?

For shiva she keeps casting familiar with one orb left leaving her weakness time only like 1-2 second window, I'm not understanding how to get her weakness longer??? Shes just getting all her HP back during this downtime what am I doing wrong? Frost familiar is what gives her the resistance UP, once she has one orb left she will usually consume it for HP, then just recast familiar from what I notice. Any more specific details on how to win vs shiva?
Use fire, until she staggers, Then you'll have to deal normal damage until her fire weakness is back up again.
@@shacknews thanks for the reply, yeah I was casting fire when i saw her weakness break but as soon as I unloaded on her she would start casting familiar which put back up her shield.

Okay all if the guides I have seen for doing the dynamic duos and monsters of legend, all say to have this gotterdammerung equipped. If you can only get it by beating everything else, how am I supposed to equip it to beat those two? Rhetorical question really.

What’s the quickest way to level up materia. I’m trying to max out my Hp up and MP up materia. Because I feel like that’s what my struggle is in this fight. I get all the way to the fourth wave and it becomes a struggle after he does his ultimate.
Either the two man high flyers fight or the garage in chapter 16. Garage is bes if you have a lot of materia but high flyer if you only have a little bit left to do since its faster but can only use two people
If you've opened up Chapter Selection, head to Chapter 14 (on easy mode) and go straight to Wall Market and Corneo Colosseum. Equip this materia setup on Cloud: Magnify+Fire / MP Absorb+Fire / Strike First /ATB Stagger / MP Up+2 / Magic Up+2 -- Best results if these are all max leveled out, and best if you're using a weapon with high Magic Atk. If they're not, this is a good spot to do it at. Then equip any materia you want to level up on everyone else. If you have AP Up materia, attach it to whatever you want to level up the fastest. At the Colosseum, select the Three-Person Vs. Shinra Warriors Fight. At every fight, just cast Fira on the first monster in your list, and you'll finish most of these fights in 2 seconds. The 4th fight you'll have to cast Fira once, have the first two guys up front die, and then launch a second Fira once your ATB immediately fills after the first hit on the rear 2 enemies. Last fight, you'll just need to rush in after the first Fira hit, and every time your ATB fills up, toss another Fira. My record time in game currently is 18 seconds, you can usually finish it in 22 (rounds out to roughly 2 minutes in real time). Nabs ya 165 AP every time you go through it, 330 AP for whatever Materia is connected to AP Up. Best and fastest strategy I've figured out so far. I leveled up 4 HP Ups and 4 MPs plus a ton of magic materia in about 2 hours. Yeah it's 2 hours, but when you're talking getting 5,000 AP for the final level on purple materia, that's nothing. Good luck!
Fight 3 vs.... in combat sim. Cost 400 gil. Finish all fights within 3 minute and re fight it. 2 last battle, just use Aerith with magic up and magnify + thundera. Perhaps not the best farm method but its what i did to max out everything.
Just an update guys. So I did the garage method yesterday took me about three hours to max all materia out for the pride and joy fight. As of 1am this morning I obtain the trophy. My girlfriend wasn’t to happy but I’m a happy trophy hunter right now.
Just did this today... I used tifa aerith and cloud... had elemental with ice on the Armor slot with tifa so she absorbed all of shiva attacks.. then I had elemental with fire on cloud so when bahamut called ifrit, he was healed on each attack.. 28 mins it took me., did it in two tries... cloud was immune to pride and joys fire moves also

Just saw that götterdämmerung didn't load up my limit break during the fight against roche. Anybody else had that or was that just a one time glitch? Or doesn't it work for boss fights?
It works for all fights, probably a glitch
After I swapped Tifa out for Barret, and the whole run went a whole lot smoother. Mostly because he can shoot down the Leviathan, and keep a safe distance from Bahamut. Plus, his high health meant that he could tank damage.
Aerith can pretty much do the same.
When I get this amulet, I can just save and go back to chapter 10 ?

Hope you figured it out by now but you also have to have the intel missions done. Or at least gotten bahamut beat and received the summons. I had the same issue until i finished the intels and got bahamut
one thing you guys can do is up an elemental material linked with Ice in your armor section, this will make Shiva's fight pretty much a cake walk since you'll be absorbing all her damage if you have your elemental material leveled up to max
juanlash nah Shiva is already easy enough. I suggest doing elemental with fire to your armor as you’re gonna need it with Bahmut when he summons Ifrit and with Pride and Joy. Trust me, it makes Ifrit easier to deal with while fighting Bahmut and it makes the final battle with pride and joy sooooooo much easier!

The boss fights in Chapter 17 and 18 on hard mode. Instant Limit break
@@Kagetora- You can also clear all of hard mode, not just ch 17 and 18. Since after you beat the game and can do hard mode, you have access to chapter select right away. So you technically can go straight to ch 17 to do the challenge, before doing any other bit of hard mode. Get the accessory. The use said accessory to steamroll through all chapters on hard mode.

I've defeated top secrets more than once but I did not receive any extra gotterdammerung.

They're playing Intergrade. You can get up to 3 in the base game if you have the Yuffie DLC and defeat Weiss in the simulator.
Just beat it 9 14 21 got the Gotterdamerung and starting from Chapter 1 to now enjoy some NG+ fun with being OP

How did you get one?
FYI, ice familiars are the ones causing Shiva's elemental immunity, cast enough spells like regular fire to destroy them one by one and she'll be vaulnerable again. Do take note she cast these frequently to replenish her immunity
Aaron Buenaventura Do I keep keep casting fire spells until she is vulnerable again? I get her staggered and take her energy down but she gets her and replenishes.
@@jblaze600 usually when i fight her, i make sure to nuke her with firaga with 80% health then make her stagger then do as much damage as i possibly can, because after you stagger her onece or even put her on pressure she starts casting ice familiars. it will be extremely difficult to remove her Familiars even if you continually cast fire because she re-casts it, when she goes on this phase i made sure to just keep on wailing on her
Thanks for the tips, I can stagger her and get rid of the familars but not fast enough that she starts regen again. I’ll keep trying, I almost launched my controller at my OLED lol.

I used fire+elemental defense so when bahamaut summons ifrit, he basically becomes a walking cure spell for me while I take care of the big bad dragon boy.
Oddly enough I had the hardest time against Shiva.
whut?XD he summon ifrit? i killed it before he could lol i had no idea..
I just hit him untill he staggered and then blasted him with 3 limit breaks lol.
But i found out that the last time you to go aerith house, at night outside instead of Tifa you can talk with Aerith. i finished the game 3 times and it only happened 1 time at hard difficulty.
Also i hate Aerith :D She tell cloud "don't fall in love with me" He never did in this game, he never even show affection, he behave like he does with Tifa, they are in danger he protect them..

Man I’m exactly the opposite.. I completely love Aerith and have since the original.
Tifa is stacked, adorable, and fun but Aerith is so lovely. Beautiful, caring, and always putting others before herself. She doesn’t even know how lovely she is.
Basically Tifa would be hella awesome to take home for the weekend and beat it up. With Aerith you put a ring on her.
Where can i get two more revival materia? I only have 1.

Shacknews I’ve already played through the game a few times. I only have 2 trophies left for me to platinum the game. I need to fight malboro and pride and joy to get these two but am struggling because I only have 1 revival materia. The revival earings can only get me so far. 😅

I didn't get it.. I'm now playing on chapter 18 hardmode, can't defeat Sephiroth and don't have Gotter, trying to fix it up, replaying chapters, but game just don't let me get Aerith challenges. I did it on easy mode (9 and 14), then switched to the 17 and still can't go to that last simulator battle. Then i did it again in hardmode (9 and 14) and go back to 17 hard (did all simulation battles on hard too, only last one secret still is closed) like wtf :D I'm tired to replay those chapters, what else should i dooo.. Intels are done 20/20, just don't get it.
haven't finished yet, but I have Cloud setup to be totally untouchable by Shiva
Can you do one on the moth unit for aerith and tifa ?
easy, just give them elemental + lightning on weapon and armor, steadfast block signifantly reduces damage of the blades and drill attack, kite him around til you bait out the blades and hit him with a thundara, once his blades on his body go away hes a punching bag and will heal you if he tries to do his lightning attacks.

Blinding Solo its super easy. Put elemental materia and lightning materia together. Make sure they are fused or binded. Also make sure it’s in your defense slot and not on your attack slot. Those lasers that he shoots out will do less damage. If you have elemental leveled all the way, the lasers will end up healing you lmao

why cloud over tifa? She can build stagger faster
She’s not very good in these fights honestly. Cloud has more versatility and has amazing counterattacks. Spells build stagger much faster.
I just reached the final chapter in final fantasy 7 hard mode chapter 17 was rough
Were any of the others difficult? I am on chapter 6 hard mode and already have the gotter thing item so the game feels super easy. Considering just not using it but it still feels easy the second time through
Update I am now through chapter 9 things have not gotten harder haha I anticipate chapters 11 12 16 17 may be harder

Mmmm, you probably missed something.
To defeat Shiva really easily just link ice materia with level two or three elemental materia on your armor for cloud or someone they will become immune to all her attacks and you just keep hitting her after that.
Misused can do the same with fire turn ifrit into your friend instead of enemy lol also linked fire is great for those lava attacks the last boss uses
but this setup won't help you against bahamut who is a more serious battle. I really hate fighting shiva with those floating icicles around her. The only times I have beaten her was just spamming the fuck out of fire attacks and double casting with aerith while she is stunned.
@@KrazyKrzysztof I had a different strat for bahamut I just take two people with either reprieve or revival earrings and give them both revival materia. Then you can survive one megaflare and heal up real quick. After that I just killed him quickly and then take care of ifrit after. I have an example of me doing it in my vid.

I almost had Bahamut down and then he wiped me with a Megaflare with my entire party at 9999 or near enough HP! Didn't have a manawall on anyone because I didn't realise it was essential! 😭 Already took down Ifrit too!
There's also a SKILL in your weapons core, Reprieve I think? That give you 1hp if you were to get knocked out.
Magnify with barrier makes it much easier to maintain barrier across the party pair it with reprieve and revival earrings plus link fire with elemental materia in your armor so ifrit becomes a pocket healer for one team mate almost guarantees you’ll survive bahamut battle
@@916Spectre the question is what is more useful vs this 5 battle arena, magnify with cure or magnify with barrier? I might give magnify and barrier a shot. You can cast it for every battle in the start. Seems pretty good actually although healing singles might suck.
@@KrazyKrzysztof i always have magnify barrier on. If you're worried about healing all party you can equip Pray materia for that.
Have elemental absorb fire so ifrit heals you then magnify heal
Those 13 missions aren’t straight forward I have a lot of trouble with barret on the 3c soldiers candidates

Complete the game on hard and do all arenas then do the last arena that unlocks. Simples.
Shiva is ultra easy. All ya gotta do is link elemental with ice to your armor on cloud and then you're immune to all her attacks
Didn’t even bother using elemental+ice. Just straight up murder her with fire spells

@food wich don't you have to access the chapter on hard mode to have access to the hard mode challenges? Either way he's gonna have to clear standard and use chapter select to get back into the vr challenges. Not possible to obtain in a first playthrough

The fight itself is pretty much endurable up until Round 4. That fight is so fucking difficult and then round 5 is pretty easy in comparison
To anyone having doubts don't give up! I thought I'd never do it then after many hours of trial and error and seeing what materia fits my playstyle I managed to beat the challenge!
My number one tip has got to be ensuring one of your party members has a elemental + fire for Round 4, this way you may have a chance of surviving the onslaught from Ifrit.
In all honesty it can sometimes be luck in terms of surviving the mega flare attack, but if you do just ensure you get everyone back to life asap.
If anyone needs any tips I'll try to help but believe me I am no expert 😂
Where's a good place to grind for levels/materia?
Just play though the game on hard, it'll level up fairly fast.
For me the fastest grind for Materia were the chapter 14 corneo Cup 3 Team Fight , magnify + fire and U oneshot every round
Dick Wallace chapter 16, clear the shinra garage and reload the chapter over and over. Equip fire+magnify, first strike, and atb stagger and just blow everything up lol
