WHOA! 2023 Ford Bronco Buyers Just Got SCREWED... Here's Why!

- I've been on the hunt for a Ford Bronco for months now and during this time there's been a few pop up for sale. But every time I go check it out, it's no surprise that every single Ford Bronco I find has been slapped with a ridiculous markup. Well, after not having much luck with my search I've come to the conclusion that I'll probably just have to order the exact spec I want and just wait for a year. However... Ford's CEO just released some news that changed the way dealers take orders for the 2023 model year. For some of you that have been waiting for your Bronco since launch day this could be good news.... But for people like me who want to place an order for a new 2023 Ford Bronco, this news really sucks because it looks like the dealers are now going to have all the power. And it gets even worse.... Ford is now going to be sending a lot more Broncos to the dealership as stock inventory and we all know that those are going to have stupid markups.
Here's exactly what's going to happen with Ford Bronco orders over the next few months.

The reality is its largely orientated from the Land Rover Range Rover tech look how merged they are with each other the smallest Range rover uses the Ford Fusion engine and the Bronco is largely a modified Range Rover Engine tech you name it it's not as Bronco tough as the first originals
I do a lot of burglaries and robberies at ATMs and liquor stores. I always feel bad for the people that I rip off. Last week, I began telling myself that these were merely market price adjustments instead of robberies, and I'm able to sleep at night and tell my family I make an honest living. Changing the name has made all the difference in my life 🤣.
I'm glad you are now able to sleep peacefully at night after the name change.
You should get a real job instead of being a plague on society.
😂Lmmfao
And on your bed of money.
Right on! Well said my friend!!
Dealers can not die off fast enough. Just turn them into pickup centers when you order online and keep them as service centers.
The dealership service centers rip off people just as much. Not only with crazy high prices but lie about what the vehicle needs and what they actually repair.
I don’t order pancakes online much less a car I can’t inspect for quality in person 😂
@@mr.k9682no the manufacturers engineers intentionally screw over mechanics so prices are high. My cousin now instead of Free he has to charge $500 to change a Headlight now because the whole car front end has to come off. Wait till you need a 1.500$ headlight 😂
@@user-yi3wo5nh8e you can inspect your tesla before you sign off on the delivery.
But I want to test drive my car and check everything in and on the car
That Jeep markup was the real crime that day. 92K for a 392 WOW!!!!!
Over 120k for one in Canada :P
The crime is that corvette
My local dealer has 24 Bronco's, all marked up 20K. Efffff them.
Dude I’ve looked at wildtraks and first editions around my area and the min markup is over $20-30k. I’m not sure how the broncos are but I’m on a f-250 forum and a guy in there order his f-250, agreed on the msrp price. Had it in writing and when it came in the dealership marked it up $6k then said they weren’t honoring the agreed upon price 🙄…he said he talk to the ford home office and claimed there was nothing they could do for him. I’m like you I’m waiting for a while til this craziness stops.
buying a car just does not seem worth the hassle right now. Crazy times.
Two years of this BS yet to go, at the least, if not longer.
There is no reason to buy any car at a dealer. If you want a new vehicle you can buy from an auto broker and you will save a lot of fees..
I personally after being a dealership mechanic wouldn't buy from any car dealer. There's just way too much overhead stack on the price of a car.
7 months later you’re predictions are becoming true. Now even without markups, dealers can’t sell their inventories. Predictable greed from dealers became their outcome with low sales and high inventory.
Had a reservation, instead picked up a '21 80th JLU for $4,500 off MSRP and have been loving it for almost two years. Jeep fixed the DW with the new steering box and have had no issues so far. Addrd a front locker and Terraflex 3" lift with beadlocks. I love seeing so many Broncos around lately as before you saw the JLU all over, now not so much. Still, IMO, people are crazy for paying the markups.
That’s not great Jeep I paid $600 for a truck and havnt worked on it in 8 years 😂
Ordered a 2022 wildtrak, hard top, Lux, all the upgrades in feb 2022. Upgraded to a 2023 with Hoss in Oct 2022. Got it in feb 2023 at MSRP. Zero issues.
I am taking delivery on a 2023 Bronco Wild Trak in probably 2 weeks, as soon as it is delivered to the dealer. I am buying it at invoice, yep, dealer cost. Not sticker, no market markup. Maybe you are just looking at the wrong dealership.
Looks like I live just down the street from you here in Boise. I got a 2022 badsquatch that came in about a month ago no markup. Ordered last September.
Congrats on the Bronco. You buy at Lithia Ford? They were doing no markup on orders.
ive had my reservation on hold since the beginning. Im still holding out for my painted hardtop. If this is availible for MY23 ill be buying mine at msrp!
Hope you get the one you want.
I was a 7/20/2020 reservation holder. It took 25 months before I got my Bronco & paid msrp. So glad I'm not in this waiting mess any more. And yeah the greedy dealers aren't going away.
When the car market bubble pops (which it will), I wonder if Broncos will hold their value. I have a Big Bend I bought for $45k from a Ford dealer, but I also have an order for a 2022 that I'm waiting on. If I can get a good price for my current Bronco, I'll sell it to get my new one -- which should be a 2023 by that time.
Damn man what kind of job you got , I’ve been wanting a base mode 2 door yellow bronco with steelies, but they want $50k
7 months since this post and the bubble hasn’t popped yet. Im wondering if it ever will.
Picked mine up yesterday. Base w/2d, 2.7, Sasquatch. I put my reservation in on an July 25th 2020. Paid MSRP on the nose. It's actually a blast to drive on road. Super torquey. Rips and snorts. Can't wait to take it off.
Congrats on getting your Bronco!
Put my order in June 2021 had to wait til I finally graduated college and actually got job and I'm still waiting haven't even gotten first email that parts are together yet, and it's a base no option build but it is a two door I assume is why the long wait. So a year is probably optimistic. Took so long and my car got totaled by a red light runner I went thru 3 used cars that were all awesome but not quite right for me now so I ordered a badlands broncosport on a whim and I ordered in February 2022 and dealer didn't put in til March 2022 picked up July 15th 2022 so now I'm hoping my order takes another 15 months so I can pay off the broncosport and have both. The broncosport if you get a badlands really is a great car though and off-roads awesome for not a true 4x4 system and I get 23-27 mpg depending on how I drive. Also I tried to upgrade to a sasquatch package since when I ordered you couldn't get one with a manual but if I do that it's a package change and I got to 23 pricing andy cost goes up like $1500 or maybe it was more, sucks cuz I was gonna get a sasquatch back then. Not sure what any of this has to do with video but I felt like bitching.
Saw a dark green base with hardtop the other day it was sharp!. One of my favorites l.have seen so far. The steelies looked great
@@TSi99999 yeah I finally got my order in February 25th 2023 base manual two-door in Oxford white and it's been awesome. I just put some off-road tires on it. Nothing else and it's amazing where it can get to
You will be able to order one in October or November. Early reservationists will have September 12th through the end of the the month to get ahead of new orders. Orders for everyone else is fourth quarter.
That's only if Ford gets caught up on all the back orders I would think.
there will be no retail orders for the rest of 2022. only current reservations and orders that are being converted.
I ordered mine in feb of this year and it’s getting moved to a 2023 I’m pretty sure
@@12lanesmith12 I ordered mine august of 2021 and I got mine this last thursday, I got a base 2 door hardtop automatic v6, I signed for 33,850 when I ordered, dealership tried to get me to pay 37,850. Im glad I had the signed listing.
@@johnmendoza6495 I just got my confirmation for my 2023 had to change from the orange to eruption green but hoping I’ll get a date soon!
Still waiting on my base , but I did order a 2 door hard top , SAS 2.7 11 months so far but oh well .
Hope you get it soon!
@@MotorFeed meh no rush when it gets here it gets here lol
honesetly I spent 1 hour online, found 3 dealers near by that only sell cars for MSRP. Saw what they had on dealer orders and picked on. Ill be waiting 6 weeks for my car to show up. At a -500 discount on MSRP so below msrp :-). BUT stranger how did you do that. Easy 1. google ford dealer and your state. 2. call all of them and ask if they sell broncos as MSRP. 3. ask what they have on order after finding the dealer and choose the one you want.
Was hoping to get a Bronco, but the prices are way out of line.. Likely I'll be buying some other make. (really wanted the Ford)
What year is your jeep?
aha right when you showed those corvetts, I said to myself they are all probably 100k+. Did not disappoint lol
haha. I had the same feeling when I saw them. Especially that blue one.
I got a Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon) off a dealership's lot (and for ~$4500 under MSRP). "Auto Experts" on RUclips back then (April 2021) advised WAITING to buy a new vehicle -- until pricing went back down (a "correction" if you will) in a year or two, but for a couple of reasons I could NOT wait. Glad I didn't as today I'd be paying way more for this same truck...even if not the higher dealership ADMs they're doing on Broncos.
"Jeep Wave"
-- BR
Congrats on the Gladiator. It was a good choice. I definitely want a 2 door Bronco someday but waiting out the chaos.
@@MotorFeed I think it'll be a while for the dust to settle -- good luck on the 20door Bronco, and hope you get it sooner than later -- despite Ford "mismanaging" the Bronco's introduction, production and consequently availability -- and despite Ford dealership ADMs (as mentioned).
MY main "worry" now is when the federal government (EPA/Climate/Green agenda) will FORCE all of us to go to EVs, and have to PARK our gas-engine vehicles, as we probably couldn't even SELL them to anyone (unless at a huge $$ loss) in that case IF they're "outlawed" or if we can't get GAS for them anymore -- if it's available or, just made too expensive to "discourage" us!
You know, the gov'ts "War on Fossil Fuel" presently. :-(
BTW, I first (Plan A) tried to get a Chevy Colorado ZR2 back then, but couldn't (due to GM's chip-shortage), so went to the Jeep (Plan B) -- PLENTY of Jeeps (Gladiators and Wranglers) on dealer lots then -- not so Chevy trucks on Chevy dealer lots (and ZERO ZR2s). But I just saw some info on the 2023 ZR2: Lots of very nice/major improvements/upgrades made, bringing it much closer to the Gladiator's capabilities, so the 2023 ZR2 looks very nice (hige difference vs. the 2021/2022 models ZR2). The only 2 serious/MID-size/off-road-capable/focused trucks *I* see are the Gladiator (Rubicon/Mojave) & ZR2.
If I were buying a FULL-size truck with those capabilities though, I'd probably go for the Chevy Silverado ZR2.

No markup allowed in Canada without adding features.
But I have seen a 56k BB go for $65k with only ceramic coating and “anti rust electronics (scam)”.
Mark up in US equals to same base price in Canada 😂
@@saurabhpatel6630 really? I paid $38,400 US ($52k CAD) for my BIg Bend AFTER taxes.
Tell me again how you’re not getting gouged by your American dealer.
Lol.
@@worldsstongeststrains983 what you telling me is that your got 15k discount?? How did you pay 38k on a 52k car??? Not making any sense
@@saurabhpatel6630 when I looked at it, it had 80 km on the dash. When I went to pick it up it had 112k. Anything over 100 is considered a used car in Canada so I got an additional 4K off.
Also the US price on the BB was $42,000 before the hike.
@@saurabhpatel6630 how much did you pay for yours?
Plenty of Ford dealers offer custom orders at MSRP. Ordered a 2-door for $48K well optioned & w/ sasquatch … written guarantee. Wait time will be 4-5 months.
No freaking way i would pay for a mark up lol i rather keep my current car
same
I wouldn’t even pay msrp lol
Placed my order jan 2022 for a 2 door base with the 2.7, still waiting for any news, most likely will be for 2023 at this point
wow. what's holding it up?
@@MotorFeed not sure, I didn’t add the sasquatch package which is whats causing delays, i did add the modular bumper but nothing else, its just a plain basic model
I paid CAD 63K for my new Badlands. Americans should just try to buy up here- only the used ones seem to be marked up in Canada. New goes for MRSP.
Order a 2023. Find a dealership that does msrp on orders and try to see if you can ask them to place it on a priority 10. That way you get it sooner.
The local one here with order at MSRP. I'm just not ready to commit to one yet. Waiting out the random issues and hoping for some certain trim options/colors before I do.
Good overview….kill the shaky-cam.
Yeah right... every dealer I visited said if I ordered I would still have to pay markup when it arrived. Total BS. I will NEVER own a Ford now.
You're wrong. Ford CEO is denying Dealerships future orders, due to the Dealers marking up Broncos. When you see a Dealership's parking lot FULL, which is not Normal, most of the time it's due to High Markups. My Dealer told me that 2023 orders were only available to order, from July to August 2022 with no Markup.
For long term Ford doing the right thing.
He's not denying anything. That's just a myth to make customers feel better. EV's will be ordered out of dealer eventually, but still delivered to customer at dealer, but the CEO is not denying any dealers future stock on popular vehicles at all.
@@MotorFeed They're keeping an eye on the Dealership's who have Bronco's for Sale, out on their lots, because Bronco's were only supposed to be orders from Public Buyer's. Ford has noticed an abnormally fair amount of bronco's being sold at a Very High Markup. Farley doesn't want Dealer's to offer any kind of Mark Ups, thus bugging out fake orders, so actual future owner's can receive their broncos, within the 2 year order date. The order banks will open back up hopefully in the Fall of 2023.
So, does that mean that the only people who can order heritage or heritage limited editions of the Bronco are people who have already ordered Broncos and switch to those editions?
Nope. Once they get caught up on old orders most people should be able to order one. Hopefully by Q4 of this year is Ford's plan. Even if it's Q1 next year, the Heritage Edition should still be there to buy.
I called probably 75 or so dealerships across the nation.. got my bronco for 3k over msrp!
This video is a good example of why inflation is it what is. Prices are what they are because supply chains are still recovering from COVID, a lot of people are doing well financially right now and are willing to play top dollar+ for what they want… right now.
Definitely. As long as there are buyers willing to pay these premiums to have these first, dealers will keep marking these vehicles up and up.
I was thinking about the Bronco. I ordered a Rubicon instead. They say, 30-60 days
Enjoy the Rubicon!
You are going to get delayed on your jeep just like Bronco. There is computer chip shortage that affects all car companies.
@@josephdan2850 not really, i ordered on 7/7 and my jeep is being built at this moment
All Dodge products...aka jeep/ram... have fewer delays because their technology lacks...lots in Houston are full because people don't want them...lol
That's funny about the corvettes...I drove by there the other day and couldn't help but laugh.
For real. the moment I saw them my brain was like "those are going to be marked up like crazy". I wonder if they will just be stuck with all those for a while.
Imma go with they'll sit. Ive been seeing those alot on the street recently but summers almost over.
Also I went to Maverick too lol. I went to check out that FJ
04:41 should’ve check on that FJ.
I just looked at the 2 door Bronco and it is a disaster - there is no space in it and you can't actually remove the rear seats so even they are folded down there really isn't any space in it. When you pull out the back seat in my 1995 you have a ton of space - not in a 2023. What makes it worse is try and get into the back seat of a 2 door - it really isn't possible for an older person to do it.
I ordered my bad lands at MSRP
For those that committed and placed an actual order and paid the deposit they should be top priority.
Once all those are filled then take orders from those that still have reservations.
Next new orders.
You snooze you lose.
Thats what I said in the video. lol.
To be honest I'm tired at this Market b******* anymore I don't know what their plan is but for right now I'm keeping the cars I have I'm not overpaying for any vehicle that's really stupid to do
It is very frustrating.
In wayne where they are made tons sitting on lots
thanks for the video. Suddenly buying a Subaru Forester is starting to look appealing.
haha. Enjoy the forester.
Wait till people have to replace them $1,500 Headlights and then cost to put them in 😂
I’m getting one only two toned or three toned !!!
My way !
And it will fly …!!
It's called Supply and Demand... Keep waiting then... I bet if you we're selling a Bronco and someone wanted to pay that asking price you would sell it... Keep driving your jeep... Cheers.
In this economy I would take all the profit I could get. Will keep driving my Jeep until this craziness blows over. Or I hit the lottery.
It's on a Toyota lot. It clearly says used in the add. Ford lot new won't have a mark up. 2023 outer banks full size bought 2 days ago. Local dealer, didn't order, just checking website for new ones. When I seen your jeep I knew you would be angry.
dude people are doing the same, ive sold over a dozen, most have resold them and re ordered. Just not the dealer.
Yep. Everyone is a flipper for the right price.
I’d like to properly thank the phucktards paying dealer markups for enabling stealerships.
**Laughs in A/Z-plan**
Your only hope for the Bronco at MSRP is to order.
So much damm wait and these markups are crazy. No air vents and cup holders were a deal breaker for me. Rather ordered a 2023 Rubicon with XR package on 7/7 and it’s being built right now
Rubicon is the way to go right now!
Here is the issue. In the Madison county, Luxembourg box at one and a half, hall county. The university of Georgia plate keeps cutting people off. He has a j in the right corner of the window and a church affiliation in the left side, suggesting pbandj protection under the establishment of township at the establishment of religion as a small protector of or gets protection on thee lower level.
The person he cuts off works in the accords and treaties and lowers into federalism at concept of the treaties of Europe that established thee US and the subsequent federalist papers. Like I say, as mechanically as they stole money is as mechanically obvious that they stole. Yes, in his Ford f150.
I paid 5k over MSRP on my 2023 Badsquatch manual cactus grey with hardtop and hitch. Love it! Waited almost 2 years. If you want play you got to pay or be stubborn and get something you din't really want to save the markup.
Glad you got what you wanted. I was stubborn and bought another Jeep. haha.
Absolutely ridiculous what they want for these freaking vehicles.
Would be nice to find a simple truck with zero bells and whistles and a five speed manual trans for under $25-k.
I went to the Ford lot a couple days ago. Tons of trucks but most of them are $65,000 and higher. It's insane.
I just got my build date December 19th(:
The auto manufacturers and dealerships can just fugg right off.
DID YOU SEE THE CRASH TEST WITH THE BRONCO / A CEMENT WALL AND A CEMENT TRUCK HITS IT FROM THE BACK AND THE RATE OF A PERSON SURVIVING IS 0 % THE WORST CAR/TRUCK OUT OF ALL THE CARS /TRUCKS TESTED
CRAZY
I have a brand new 2022 2 dr bronco - bad lands trim in cactus with the highest pack. Will sell to you. I have a Rivian R1T inbound
I’ll take the Rivian. 😂
The thing nobody talks about though is the fact that the dealerships are spending over sticker to sell them over sticker. It's not like they're marking them up 25k. They're spending 23k over the sell for 25k over.
This shitty Bronco rollout is an awesome marketing tool for Jeep. I could wait to order a Bronco that's known to have issues and I wouldn't get it for probably more than one year, or I could order a Wrangler which does everything the Bronco can do and then do it better in most off-road cases and I could get it in 3 months. Good job Ford, I don't think you could've fucked this up any harder than you did!
Jeeps are gay tho
Sadly Jeep has been having some delays as well. But more like 2-3 months and not years to wait. Depending on your options.
Ford definitely screwed up rollout bad, but the actual vehicle is amazing, I say that with 33k miles in the past 10 months.
Yes, there have been some isolated issues (especially 2.7's blowing up - mine was in the failure window). However, I have been blown away by my particular Bronco.
the shitty rollout as you say has caused prices to soar where customers are getting their orders at MSRP and flipping it for 10-20k the next day. That's something a Jeep can't do :D
@@j4yp3r That’s not good at all. I can do the same thing with a Tesla and those things are shitboxes. That has to look absolutely terrible for ford. It’s not like these things are investments as soon as this recession hits from all of this government spending the prices on these are gonna fall off a cliff
How are they putting a mark up? I am sure they over paid just get broncos, so are we all paying a mark up on homes too because they have gone up?
Car manufacturers and dealers have gone the way of airlines. As much fun as getting all your teeth pulled at the dentist.

Well done!
No one should be buying a car for a year or so and let all these stealerships go out of business for screwing over the market.
Great idea but sadly not realistic as people still need cars.
Hi. People don’t NEED Broncos. ;)
If you had ordered way back when, you would have had it by now.
Maybe not. Lots of original order holders still don't have their Bronco.
@@MotorFeed Like me. I reserved in early July of 2020, and ordered one in Jan of 2021. Never got it. Let's say you have a lemonade stand and are selling lemonade at $2 a glass. It's really hot and everybody wants lemonade badly. The stand down the street can't squeeze lemons as fast as you so they are now buying your lemonade and selling it for $5 a glass. What are you going to do? It's all about supply and demand.

the bronco is built on a ford escape platform! then they want 80.000 for a mid trim bronco! lets move on!
these will be worth nothing when evs come so just wait for a few years and get something better and probably cheaper.
Not true at all. These will be worth more if EV's become dominant. But that won't be for a long time if ever.
The economy is set for a huge sink, massive layoffs, stagflation, just like the 70s, these things will be sitting on lots.
Maybe. Only if the rich lose a lot of money as well.

Don't blame the dealerships for the mark ups! Blame the consumers who are paying for the vehicles with all the markups! You know the same people with a $1000 plus car payments🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️.
