There was a press conference where a friend of hers opened up despite knowing Alison's mother's family may target him. Alison's had lived with her father since last April when the divorce was filed, and last week court gave mother custody. There has to be a real fear, because that was real emotion we were hearing from her, and it was gut wrenching.
I watched the video where the police knocked on Allison's father's door and she didn't want to come out to talk to them. I'm so very happy that she has been found safe and sound. I hope the family receives the help they certainly appear to need.
It’s crazy how as a society we’ve been lecturing kids relentlessly about stranger danger for at least 40 years now when the reality is that harm or death is far more likely to come to them at the hands of someone they love and trust.

@pretzel-cat maybe, anything's possible. They will definitely investigate it, and CPS will automatically be involved (if they weren't already). Some of this won't be news to police though - they'll have had all the records.

If any behaviour justifies criminal charges, we may get to know from that. Tell you one thing - I was looking at the website set up by mother last night and I was impressed by how sharp and slick it was.
Since her parents ARE going thru with a divorce I would'nt put it pass the dad to coach her in to what to do or what to say since he was with her last. If the police check the dad's cell phone they might find some interesting phone calls. Perhaps to someone that is keeping an eye on her or hiding her. This very well could have been planned. The only one that truly knows is Alison. She left her phone at home because it could be traced via cell tower pings. I wonder if her dad or she knew that. Looks like she tried to take her off the grid. But there is no hiding from cams since they are everywhere and they have no control over them.

It may be that her mother is horrible to her and that’s why Alison has lived with her Dad since her parents’ separation. But I also got a feeling of being manipulated by that presser. Like “holy parental alienation in public, Batman!” I am left wondering where she was for a whole week by herself?! Wearing the same clothes looking all clean. And she was traced by ring cameras directly to where her paternal grandfather lived. How did she end up in Glendale conveniently close to the news station? Did she ride her bike there (where was the bike…she was on foot) or did someone drop her off. I have so many questions. If her Mom really is awful to her I really hope her Dad’s family wasn’t hiding her from the court order because I think that could backfire on them and Alison herself in terms of the custody case.
Yes I noticed she had same clothes on as when she disappeared. Makes me think she might not have been in a house or with an adult actually, could possibly have been living rough. Although she doesn't look unkempt or dirty saying that.
The website mum set up is one of the most effective (i.e. likely to bring,results) ones I've ever seen set up by a parent. They're normally just emotional appeals - unlikely to bring much above raising awareness - or they're places to rant (think Don Wells). But this one had precise mapping, videos, clear requests on who should check their door cams, etc, possibilities of where she might have pedalled after being caught on cctv. And it had a clear and excellent mechanism for reporting any sightings on the site and a clear aim to try and capture where she'd gone next. It was exemplary actually. I'm finding it hard to square that with a parent who 'knew where she was' all the time. It was too good!
We need to be careful not to throw out instant judgements here. There's a history to this - a history of family court, court orders, court assessments, maybe CPS involvement, mental health. This didn't just start last week, and these family situations can be extremely complex. We don't know who's been naughty and who's been nice, or whether everyone's been naughty. And a missing child, be it runaway or not, is extremely vulnerable. So those searchers didn't 'waste their time' as some are saying.
