Arthur, you are the only person I trust. I was planning to buy this camera as my first mirrorless camera but I'm going to give it up and buy the a6700. It is not that much more expensive than the ZV-E10II, but it is more than twice as good. I love everything you do and post, I admire your family and I wish you all the happiness in life.

Love my zve10 but i dont think its worth to upgrade bc not much improvement like ibs, higher frame rate and some kind of weather sealing rather than dial layouts or whatever
Alamo with the model of the original way the fort looked is fantastic. A famous Rocker donated a lot of memorabilia to the museum. The Botanical Gardens, plus the Zoo and next to it is the Chinese Tea Garden. Wonderful picture taking. Cheers!

This is a really good option for RUclipsrs who exclusively do video. They’ll probably need to get a microphone though. Does this camera work with that Sony microphone that connects via the hot shoe? That’d be a good option
A camera without IBIS and with an insanely huge digital stabilization crop is "ideal for people that do exclusively video"? Well, I don't think so.
Great review/video as normal. Absolutely spot on regarding the the lens technology not being in place already for other Sony lenses!
Wish they called this zv-e20 but oh well. Am definitely gonna put this on my wishlist when am ready to upgrade from my a6400!

Some nice improvements, but no reason to upgrade my Mark I ZV-E10, and will continue to do a great job for me. Maybe I will save some money, and pick up a second Mark I.

I consier buying this camera in the following days. There's something no one seems to adress: zoom capacity! Is it x5, x10, ...? I don’t know nothing about photography but I think its always nice to be able to zoom in optically rather than numerically in the picture. I currently have a vey old Samsung Galaxy camera that can do x16 ...

I was thinking about this camera and came to the realization that I need an EVF. For $400 I would get the A6700. I do own the White ZV-E1 which I wish it had an EVF and the A7C. Two ZV-E10's One Black and the other White and Old Faithful A6100.
AHhh this is such a good camera but i cant get over the fact that it doesn't have an EVF. 😱😭
ZV line never has had EVF what were you expecting my man.
That's why there is the a6700, the best aps-c camera today, in my opinion.
I really hope the succesors to the a6100 and a6400 are coming soon as well
The sync stabilization is sync between the lens OSS and the body. The other lenses you mentioned doesn't have OSS.
That's the point, why do those lenses have no OSS?

Where are we at when thinking of vlogging or video comparing the image and ease of use of this versus say an iPhone with log that can be baked in with LUTs and h265 on BM app?
All I want right now is for Sony to release the a7v! At around the same launch price of the a7iv 😭
The real question is why after more than a decade, has Sony NOT updated the very poor optical qualities of that kit lens?
Because it’s just a kit lens. Its main draw is that it is insanely compact for its versatility. For a casual photographer, it is more than enough for most cases.

Bruh it’s probably the best kit lens that comes with any apsc camera; canons 18-50 is less wide, less telephoto, and with darker apertures all around. wtf r u even saying?

And, yes... the sublime 16-55 mm f/2.8 G with this "coordination control" AF system would be a decisive filming weapon !
If it's a firmware thing, perhaps we can see that being incorporated some time soon. But I'm afraid it has some relations with the hardware side of the lens.
With this function built-in, it would mean dropping gimbals for most of filming for many users.

A nice upgrade to the original ZV-E10, and some great VLOG footage too! As I have the A6700 as well as the ZV-E10, I'll not chase after this one.

This 6600, or a6700? Recording sit down testimonials, some street interviews and RUclips content and some photographs. Lowlight is important as well as battery life/overheating. ( I can buy a fan ) but videos will most likely be about an 1 long if not 1:15 mins long.

At ~10:15: It seems it is IBIS/OSS coordination that is improved... so it should not be the reason for the improved stabilization you mentioned since that cam does not have IBIS. Maybe more crop in active mode?
Is it possible to use active stabilization and OSS from kit16502 on any Sony camera? I am wondering if using it on the original ZV-E10 will provide extra smoothness, as the electronic stabilization on that camera is pretty low. I am hoping that this new lens, together with Catalyst Browse, will enhance the stabilization to the level of the ZV-E1. The only terrible thing is the cropping, which becomes significant!
I love your videos, by the way, I want to ask if this 2nd generation Sony kit lens makes a sound when zooming? What are your thoughts on DJI Pocket 3? Personally, I think if you want to vlog, you should use Pocket 3, because if you carry the Sony ZV E10 II, it will be heavier and have less vibration resistance. Personally, when traveling with my family, Just bring along a Sony ZV1 that's very compact and lightweight. Hope an answer from you, I love you
Good point, the first one is so noisy its useless for video, well what's the point of power zoom then? Other than draining the battery and introducing more points of failure? Guess it look cooler...

For the old kit lens was focusing near a disaster, so was softness to the sides, be it lens limits, poor QC or both.
My a5100 got no oil and the same for many apsc, so ois is great.
Main point of this lens is portability and price(hopefully), so getting good results even with f4 or f5, ois helps a lot.
I also wonder how they perform on fullframe, getting a surprise there would be great, like great performance of sigma 10-18 f2.8 at 12mm in fullframe, a bit of vignetting, but FullFrame 😮

@@CLtech05 either way, for $300 more you get the Sony a6700, I bought it mainly because of battery, but then I realized how much more you actually get

I'm photo-centric so a6700 for me, but I have to say I'm glad with all this insane inflation that Sony has kept the same C$1800 price for the a6700 that they released the a6600 at several years ago. For C$100 the kit lens is a no-brainer -- sure it isn't tack sharp for photos, but it's sharp enough for 4k (~8MP), covers a decent range, stabilized, and so compact and lightweight. I kind of wish the a6700 came in white.

Hmm. New kit has a plastic mount. I'm not averse but it's certainly interesting to see. They cut costs but that seems to go to margin and not MSRP. Also, I think the reason you aren't seeing this body-lens coordination tech in other more interesting lenses is because as the name suggests, the body needs to have something to coordinate with in the lens (OSS). No new lenses but this one have that
Is the ZVe10 M2 4k footage downsampled from 5.6k or 6k. Because for the ZVe10 M1 its 6k downdampled. Is it a downgrade?
Does it overheat? Or can we use it for livestreams?
Does the Face and Eye Autofocus still work when it’s connected to an external monitor trough HDMI?

"Enhanced body-lens coordination control" means a sensor with less rolling shutter and a faster processor in the camera to process stabilization information. My proof? Look at cellphone stab technology and compare the stabilization in modern cellphones with the processor performance. Not convinced? Look at them in lowlight where you can really see the difference. Heck, even the iphone has ibis (Sensor shift).

I am very disappointed with the lack of a mechanical shutter. Dreams of a second version in the trash! Dead-end camera! The first version became popular because of this!

I used my ZV-E10 around 80% for photography for what it's much better suited than for vlogging.
Any recent cameras for the past 10 years can take great photos. Every company is competing on video specs nowadays. Stay with mk I there is no reason to go mk II. Well, it is a camera line without EVF so any photo shooters should stay away from ZV line anyways.

According to Sony the new kit lens will be sold separately later (and for $300!!!!) only in black.
Be patient and wait for the used market where people are selling the kit lens at $100~150 range.
@@ArthurR I found it but it is out of stock. Black will match my black A6700 just fine. I want to make my set as compact as possible in order to take it along for vlog and docu style video and photo's. I have been unhappy with the stabilization performance. I have a Sony a6400 with a 16-50 kit lens and I have a Lumix G90 with the 12-35 2.8. Surely different lenses in terms of cost, but the Sony is used on a 24Mpx apsc that should be better than an M43. Results? At 6400 ISO the noise generated by the sensor with the same exposure parameters is almost identical, but with a noise reduction SW like DxO the chrominance noise is much better with the Lumix. The Sony lens is embarrassing. I tried to focus on the 4 corners of the same subject with 4 shots. With the Sony the corners are all pasty and stretched, unwatchable. With the Lumix they have incredible sharpness. So my thought (experienced), even though I have both, is that the Sony is a glass bottom of very low quality
As ex ZV-E10 user,
Wow the new 26M sensor and that HW-SW stabilization are really good. This is what we need for the entry-level camera. People stop buying these because they can just use Smartphone and AI apps (which looks so fake). This VDO quality is something smartphone cannot do.

Please tell me the 85GMII F1.4 is not real, right? 1,890 days since Canon launched a 85mm F1.2 for mirrorless, yet Sony can’t respond…. I think E-Mount is too small for acceptable vignetting at F1.2 beyond 55mm. It shouldn’t have any issues with a 24mm F1.2 because it’s wider.

I thought having an ZEv10 would be good for taking quock pics and videos, but I can't stand that it doesn't have a few finder. It's been sitting on my shelf almost a year now.

@@adverspace felt just like the FX30 and A6700, although it does overheat unlike the FX30.
I find it funny how similarly priced phones have had 4k60 for a couple years with the ability to do far more onboard and a much better screen.
It's just so strange how that turns out.
You can´t compare 4K from smartphone with 4K from camera downsampled from 6K with big sensor and quality optics. I have bought ZV-E10, have quality lens and there is big difference and in low light extreme difference in quality. And I have flagship smartphone with 1 inch sensor. If you watch your videos on a smartphone it might look good, but put it on big display or when you zoom in the video you will see difference. But 4K from smartphones is good enough for most people I still use 4K on my smartphone :)
@@ricci3825 I mean obviously the dedicated camera will be better when it does do it, the limiting factor looks to be how fast the thing can read,convert and store the data, I just wish the entry level cameras would have higher resolution video modes, even low end phones do 1080p.
@@deltacx1059 You are right smartphones have their own pluses, so have the cameras, for example I have found one more. Battery. When you shot something long and the battery in smartphone will die you have to charge he phone to some degree to be able to shoot. But with camera I have two other batteries in my pocket, so if I record long video and one battery will be out I have two more, change it in a minute and could record again :)
@@deltacx1059 That is right I think the bigger the sensor the worse read speed :). This is why smartphones are better when talking about rolling shutter for example. They have even better EIS, but when I used my phone with EIS in 4K the video quality dropped quite a bit, because of cropping. Resolution of video is good on ZV-E10. 4K look to me more detailed than smartphone 8K and when low light it is still amazing :). But the FPS could be higher in most cameras in 4K that is true even on high ISO. This is in really low light but it look like there is more light :). Because I used ISO 4000 on my ZV-E10.
