    This is exactly the tank I wanted to do since I am hesitant to put an anemone in my main display tank. Thanks for an awesome video!

    Hi brother
    Really beautiful tank.
    Does Alkalinity level matter for anemone?
    I have a tank with 6.3dkh, it is only fish tank, can I keep anemone at it?
    Another thing, you said that you are not running the skimmer all the time, why?

    • @ReefUnderTheRoof

      Alk doesn't matter. Tank is in my bedroom, so i dont run it in the evening. Which light u got? Nems like lots of it.

    Hi How do you set up the rocks for the anemones? What type of Rocks did you use?

    • @ReefUnderTheRoof
      @ReefUnderTheRoof  8 месяцев назад

      I just lay them on top of each other. Don't think nems are picky about your aquascape. Forgot the name, but I know that these are man made rocks. I just used them because I had them already. U can use any reef safe rock.

    Awesome nems!! How long after cycle did you put your first anemone ? Also did you started with live or dry rock ?

    • @ReefUnderTheRoof
      @ReefUnderTheRoof  Год назад +1

      4 months. I started it with dry rock and live sand and dr Tim’s bacteria.

    Beautiful nems 🤩. Is there anything that you have noticed that either triggers them to reproduce or causes them to slow/stop reproducing?

      @@ReefUnderTheRoof I have a rainbow BTA. Is the care for Chicagos and Colorados similar? Also, what would be a really good deal on a small Colorado and do you think they could be kept in a 5 gal?

    • @ReefUnderTheRoof
      @ReefUnderTheRoof  2 года назад +1

      @@bahamareefer Care is the same. U have seen what I have in my tank as far as equipment, so something similar will work great! I would say if u can get it locally under 500 is a good price. Don’t mix nems. I tried, and it didn’t work out for me. So, one tank for one anemone.

      @@ReefUnderTheRoof would be awesome if I can make a 5gal work to propagate nems. Using it as a frag tank for lower dollar corals might not be worth it.. I like your style of only selling them when they walk 💪‼️

  • @northeastcorals
    @northeastcorals 2 года назад +2

    Nice content as usual mate. I know a lot of people say keeping different verities of BTA together to propagate often ends with one type becoming dominant & taking over. Do you think this could be avoided if they were put into a tank that was either divided to keep them physically separated, or separate tanks plumbed into the same system etc? Or might it be some kind of chemical warfare etc that doesn't need direct contact between anemones? 👍

    • @ReefUnderTheRoof
      @ReefUnderTheRoof  2 года назад

      It’s a bacterial warfare, I believe. bigger UV sterilizer helps. People had luck with mixing basic rainbow nems (they seem to be more gentle with mixing). Usually sunburst tipe does best if not mixed. ✌️

      I had mixed results, the 1st Sherman I had seem to wither away not sure if it was health reasons or chemical warfare. When I saw another Sherman appear in local fish forums, I took a chance. I went to the seller’s house and he had his Sherman mixed with Rainbows, touching each other and one LT on the far side of the tank. Granted his was 120 gallon but they got along. I took the chance and so far it has been 4 months with no issues. Again I am still baffled in certain cases they work and do not.

      @@edz5799 From what I've seen/heard it usually takes anywhere 6 months to well over a year for mixed BTA tanks to become mono BTA tanks but I'm sure there may be some people out there who have managed it long term so fingers crossed🤞
