I have only gotten a Black widow to mix with a Rainbow. And rainbow with greens. Purigen, carbon and skimmer is all I use for special filtration
Rainbows usually play well with the others. Thanks for the feedback ✌️
Awesome Anemones videos. Super helpful.
Thanks! ✌️
Thanks for making the comment about bleaching wastewater with antibiotics in it before disposal. Not enough people realize it's important to prevent resistance.
Yeah, I figured. Since I don't want to be a part of a problem.
I stopped feeding my anemones for a year or a little more. They seemed to do just fine. I have recently went back to feeding once a month to encourage more growth and possibly splitting
Yeah, I haven’t noticed much of a difference with broadcast feeding compared to individual feeding. There is probably some benefits, but not huge for sure.
@@ReefUnderTheRoof I didn’t know mixing nems could potentially be a problem. I’ve tried adding green ones 4 or 5 different times and it never works out. Maybe this is why. 🤔
@@3ghostman332 it’s unfortunate. I would love to have a variety of nems in one tank, but definitely nems don’t tolerate other nems in the tank
Great information and awesome vidoe
Thanks ✌️
I've had green/purple with rainbows for about 5 years. Haven't noticed any issues, they do seem to tend to organize themselves by color except for in my nano they are all close to each other under the single light there is rainbow, green/purple, and nexus. In my display under 3 radion gen 6, they stay with their splits in groups.
@@kathrynanacker6522 Awesome! yeah, usually rainbows do better with mixing. Do u run UV sterilizer or no?
Hi bro
Really very informative video.
Can you talk in details about filtration you are using right now?
1- Do you use mechanical filtration like filter socks or fluss?
2- Are you using skimmer? If yes, are you running it all time or partial of a day?
3- Are you using now any type of filter media like carbon or GFO?
4-Are you using now UV starilizer? If yes, is it working 24 hours?
Or you are only use UV in Dino existing?
5- What you are using to measure salinity?
Appreciate your support bro... Thanks
No mechanical filtration, skimmer for 12hours, no carbon, UV 12hours, Refractometer and Hanna Salinity tester.
@@ReefUnderTheRoof
Do you think that using UV sterilizer is essential with anemone tanks even if there is no Dino?
@@haithamkittana5411 if u are going to have soft corals I would install it. I wouldn't say its essential.
@@ReefUnderTheRoof
Thanks
I have 150 gallon reef. My 2 nems are happy bright color s. I used a good. Coral life LEDs light. Work s well most people say u need a special light. My friend told me the same thing what u said just a good light
Great video 👍🏻
Thanks! ✌️
What bta variation are these? Colorado sunburst? What lights do you use? Settings? they look amazing!
Yes, Colorados. Xr15 gen 4 pros. Thanks!

When your anemone walks they see the ✂️ 😆
🤫😂
4 years now with rainbow BTAs, maxi-mini carpets and rock flowers. 100 gallon, sump/chaeto/skimmer. run purigen , might move the BTAs to a separate 32 gallon as they are starting to split and move around.
Nice! Yeah, Rainbows seems to be OK when mixed. UV sterilizer or ozone reactor?
Great Video!
Thanks!
Hi
When you say no mechanical filter , means there is no carbo no ceramik or any kind of filter right ?
Not even soft fabrcs to clear the water ??
Thank you 4 support
I have a standard rose and am getting a Chicago. Think that will be a problem?
Don’t know. I would pick just one and enjoy it!
My nem is looking pretty rough. Parameters are looking good. Wondering if vermited snails are messing with it. Do nems bounce back and get their full color once they are happy again? Mine has been pretty rough looking for several months. 😢
They do, yes. If u can send me on Facebook Or Instagram a picture of your tank maybe I can help. There are links to both in the video description.
Hey what about the lighting
@@akhilsinghal113 I have talked about the lighting more in this video ruclips.net/video/5MIu08XPLmU/видео.htmlsi=jGlwgWL9xyNi5Pu-
Nem guard is where I failed. I had acquired my first Colorado Sunburst Anemone. Put in in QT tank with MP10. Didn't make it 24 hrs. 😭
O man 🤦♂️ yeah, it’s just not worth it. Some folks are luckier than others. This hobby brought me down couple of times. It keeps me on my toes for sure!😅
I have Prorocentrum Dino’s and they have killed 2 of my 3 anemones. UV has not helped and I have been dosing silicates to try and get rid of them.
I’m afraid my 3rd anemone will be gone soon. Would moving it to an acclimation box be worthwhile?
@@MineCraftNeedsYou which UV are u using? Have u cleaned it?
@@ReefUnderTheRoof using an 11W bulb in the filter chamber of my AIO tank filter chamber. The only time I have seen it make a dent was when I fabricated a wand to sweep the sand with but it is a hassle to snake it around my rock work
@@MineCraftNeedsYou which brand? Innovative marine?
@@ReefUnderTheRoof yes the 11W innovative marine UV sterilizer
@@MineCraftNeedsYou I have the same one. It definitely works!
What sand and salt are you using sir?
Red sea blue bucket and Carib sea special grade
I have 8 rainbows with 4 black widows. I have noticed my rainbows have moved to different rocks than the black widows. I run a uv a night.
Going on two years now mixed.
Great! How big is the tank? Which UV you run? Flow rate? How your nems look? How many nems u have of each?
@@ReefUnderTheRoof I run a undersized aqua uv. Black widows are long and stringy. Rainbows are bubbly. I have 3 green nems with blue tips and two purple nems. My tank is a 100 ext with a Ruby 36 sump which holds 40 gallons. I’ll friend you on Facebook and show you some pics.
Probably 8 rainbows and 4 black widows.
@@ReefUnderTheRoof 2 mp 40s and 1 Nero 5
how can you tell teo diferent types of anemones are not getting along?
It stopes eating, it looses color, tentacles start to shrink and if not medicated, unfortunately it dies
What par level do you keep them in?
ruclips.net/user/shorts6aNWnkkr3xA?si=b6iLKhwte0TqYhno
What variant of BT is that? Sunburst?
Colorado Sunburst bta
I have changed my lightinhig system and my anemone is not opening. What should i do?
Lower the lights little bit. Anemones are sensitive on lighting changes. Watch my resent lighting video hopefully that helps
How long do you have your lights on for your nem tank?
12hours
Can you share your lighting schedule?
@@julianpham2943 There is a video on my RUclips shorts, instagram and my TikTok as well. Don’t have much of vids posted there, so it shouldn’t be hard to find.
Hii , just want to check if I have already set up with Lps do you recommend I can add anemone right now or it’s dangerous to that ?
That’s up to you. Maybe keep it on a separate island…
We mixed them and they were fine until they weren't! Chemical warfare between the bubble tips and black widows. 2 dead BTs and the black widows moved to the other end of the tank onto another rock.😢. We have the same problem with the different torches trying to kill each other. Heavy carbon, UV, skimmer, water changes and a mix of conditioners like purigen and other stuff to try to remove the toxins.
Yeah, uv can help with torches as well.
Brother how did you get em to spilt fast?
✂️✂️✂️
Gotcha thanks!!
@@nicholasyang983 sure! ✌️
Can Aiptasia be am issue with Bubble Tip Anemones ?
My tank and rock has small Aiptasias everywhere
the corals that are already established are okay but I am scared of adding new corals or anemones
Some aiptasia is fine for sure. Never had a lot, so don’t know about that. peppermint shrimps can help u with that.
Get you some berghia nudibranch. I had a complete apocalypse with aiptasia in my 75G and 4 small berghia wiped out my problem in 2 weeks
These just split naturally for you?
They don't. Mostly are ✂️
@@ReefUnderTheRoof do you have a video on how you do that?
@@reefreptiles3190 ruclips.net/user/shortsskOH4GyB974?feature=share
Did he say 8% or 80% for his MP10?
80%
How can you know if a anemone is dead?
It will turn into mush. Which is toxic for other animals in your aquarium. I like to use a cup and remove it slowly from the tank.
Yas girl 💅🏻💅🏻💅🏻
How many gallons
This is the 40 gallons aio from Waterbox
Can you tell me the dimensions of the aquarium in inches?
